I’ll bet you’d like me to introduce the topic here, but I’m not going to just yet. That’s because I’m…stalling.

Terrible attempt at humor aside, the stall is a very versatile DIY item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

From making simple shops to acting as vehicle parts, there are plenty of uses for the stall – many of which you’ve probably never considered before.

Well here’s some of the coolest ideas on how to use stalls to create some stunning island designs.

25. Fortune Teller Stand

I can see into your future, and you’re going to give this stall design a try.

One simple idea for a stall is to create fortune teller shop from just a few items.

The only item that you need to purchase is a fortune teller set, because you can tell fortunes without it.

Then all you really need to do is customize the stall to a nice fancy purple beaded design, and display a custom sign to advertise your business.

24. Surf Shack

Those waves look gnarly!

While I definitely can’t pull off using that word, you should definitely consider creating a beach side surf shop.

Start by customizing simple panels to have a wooden shack pattern, and lay down some custom boardwalk paths.

Next, you’ll want to set up your stall and custom shop sign. I really like the floral pattern on this stall, so I’d highly recommend something similar.

Then proudly display your inventory of surfboards that you bought during the summer, as well as some wet suits and water shoes for all your customers to look at.

23. Outdoor Soup Stall

If you’re looking for a warm meal while traveling outside during the winter months, then you’ll want to try out this soup-er stall design.

This is another very simple idea that only requires a few items, including two stalls in this case.

This player set up four soup kettles, which gives your guests a nice variety to eat.

You’d also setup some simple panels customized to look like menu boards with lovely pictures of your various soups.

Then craft a couple of iron garden chairs so that everyone has somewhere to sit when they dig in.

22. Snow Cone Stand

I usually think of snow cones as more of a summer treat, but I guess you have more snow to access during the winter…

Start this idea by customizing your stall to have a fun winter design. If you’re like me and prefer them in the summer, then a summer design will do just fine too.

The shaved ice maker is an essential item to purchase here, because how else are you going to make your product?

I do like the addition of the drink machine too – as if it displays all your snow cone flavors. Although I recently did learn that all the snow cone syrups are the same flavor.

21. Pink Lemonade Stand

Now this is a summer treat!

Make your own pink lemonade stand by customizing your stall to have pictures of lemonade displayed on it.

You’ll also want a custom sign to advertise for your shop.

Crafting iron garden chairs and tables can add to the scene by giving everyone a place to beat the summer heat.

Speaking of which, including cherry blossom trees also provides shade for your patrons, while also fitting nicely with the pink lemonade theme.

20. Japanese Food Market

This little piggy went to market, and he got some octopus for dinner.

(Let’s just hope Truffles doesn’t eat Zucker for dinner)

Start creating this Japanese-style market by customizing your stalls to appropriately display whatever food you’re selling.

This stall happens to be octopus. You can do sushi, steamer baskets of dumplings, or even ramen.

For this particular octopus stand, you’ll want to catch an octopus while swimming in the ocean, and display him in a tank on the counter.

Lastly, craft a cutting board. Then you’re ready chop and serve up some seafood!

19. Greenhouse Flower Shop

In your custom builds, the stall doesn’t have to be the star of the show.

Maybe it should complement the design’s main attraction.

To set up this gorgeous greenhouse idea, start by customizing some simple panels to look like some hand-crafted stained glass windows.

Then customize your stall to have a vine pattern, and lay down some customized white wood pathways as well.

Then you pretty much want to setup plants all across the tables, stalls, shelves, and floor. Take a peek at our list of greenhouse ideas to get even more inspo for this.

You’ll also want to purchase a mini cactus set, cypress plant, monstera, floating biotope planter, and a fan palm for all your customers to enjoy.

18. Circus Tent

Come one, come all!

Step right up and enjoy the show with this fun little idea that actually requires minimal effort on your part.

You’ll want stalls, kid tents, and simple panels customized to have this colorful stripe pattern.

To set this up on your island, you’ll need to create some cliffs on each side of the main entrance tent to create even taller tent wings.

Then plop in those simple panels and stalls in front of the cliffs, as well as a customized sign to advertise for the greatest show in the world.

17. Pirate’s Cove

Ahoy, ye scallywags! If ye be wanting a hardy seafaring design for your stall, then give this here pirate’s cove a whirl!

Start this by laying down sand pathways, and on top of that, place some boardwalk pathways to branch off into all the little attractions.

Then customize your stalls to have a wooden pattern to match the path, and place some treasures like paper tigers and scorpions on the counter.

Some other items you’ll want purchase and craft for your docks are gongs, imperial chests, candlesticks, barrels, birdcages, and anchor statues.

Once it’s all done, just don your pirate hat and treasure robe, and ye be ready for some seaside treasure shopping.

16. Flower Delivery Stall

Perhaps your flower shop goes the extra mile and delivers bouquets and boxes to customers who want to give that someone special something special.

Well if so, then maybe you’ll want to go after this custom design.

I really like the design on this specific stall. The wooden flower look is cute and gives it a homey touch.

If you’re redesigning this yourself, be sure to display some heart bouquets as the merchandise that you’ll be delivering.

And be sure to pick plenty of flowers so you can craft a garden wagon to deliver even more flowers!

Oh, and be sure to purchase a mountain bike too. That way you can actually get to each delivery on time.

15. Outdoor Keroppi Garden

The recently-added Sanrio villagers have become highly coveted, along with the various items you can find in their homes.

I personally am gunning to get Chai on my island.

This idea uses stalls to create awnings for a Japanese-style house exterior.

Start this idea by sculpting some cliffs to set up a row of zen fences for a second floor. In front of the cliffs, you’ll want to place your stalls, which you’ll customize to look like shingle roof tiles.

Then add some custom simple panels that act as your sliding doors.

And be sure to add some Kerokerokeroppi items, such as the cake, bridge, and stone lanterns.

Then towards the end just add some zen and imperial fencing down the path leading to your unique stall design.

14. Valentine’s Day Boutique

Stalls are not exclusively for the outdoors. So maybe try setting up a shop indoors for all those happy couples wishing to spend a special day together.

To make this Valentine’s treat, line the walls with the stalls, and set up a den desk in front of each one.

Then deck out the walls with some wedding decorations to enhance the romance.

Next, setup a couple of couples with wedding chairs and iron garden tables for their romantic dates.

You’ll also want to craft some wooden chests for a counter.

And lastly, purchase a mixer and espresso maker to serve drinks to all the happy couples!

13. Carnival Pier

Sometimes, it’s “the more the merrier” when it comes to stalls.

And this carnival pier proves that idea.

To make this yourself, lay down a customized boardwalk path as close to the beach as you can get.

On the stalls, you’ll want to place many items such as a magic set, fortune teller set, and some hats customized to look like cakes.

And purchase plenty of fun items like a climbing wall, soft serve lamp, inflatable pool, mama bear, and fortune cookie cart.

Only once you spend some Nook Miles on a teacup ride can the carnival fun truly begin.

12. Vinyl Record Shop

Who doesn’t love music?

With nearly 100 K.K. Slider songs available, you could start selling some with your own record stall.

Start out by customizing your stall to have some sort of music related pattern. It can be records as pictured, which does emphasize your product, or something like music notes.

Then purchase some items like amps, portable record players, and record boxes to set up the stall.

Lastly, display your favorite records as sample merchandise.

Personally, some of my favorites are Bubblegum K.K, Go K.K. Rider, and K.K. Metal.

11. Honeycomb Stall

Here’s another fun product that you might sell at your stall:

Honey.

This means you’ll need a lot of wasp nests for display, as well as crafting beekeeper hives.

I really like the custom design on the stall, as well as the custom designed simple panel supply shelves. It’s always good to have plenty in stock.

Setup some flowers such as tulips nearby too, because your bees need to get nectar from somewhere.

And don’t forget a customized wooden shop sign to attract plenty of customers (and hopefully not plenty of wasps).

10. Market Square

Stalls in a marketplace / ACNH Idea

Marketplaces are big business.

And a marketplace full of stalls is big business without the hassle.

This design only uses six stalls, but you can make your market square as vast as you want.

On each market stall, display various forms of produce, baked goods, sweets, flowers, drinks, and whatever else you can think of!

You can purchase and craft items like mom’s homemade cake, fruit baskets, watermelon beach balls, infused water dispensers, coffee grinders, and plenty more.

And don’t forget to include your custom shop sign so that your villagers know where to go for all their shopping needs.

9. Summer Camp Bus

There are many unconventional ways you can use stalls in New Horizons.

And one way that I’ve seen many times is using them to create vehicles.

Maybe you want to try making a summer camp with a bus to transport all your happy campers over to the campsite? If so, well, here ya go.

In this case, the stalls act as the bus roof, as well as the counters to display your dolly and puppy plushie campers.

In front of each stall, place some custom standees to act as the bus windows. Then purchase a diner sofa for the driver’s seat.

You can also craft some tire toys to make the wheels of the bus, which are said to go round and round (or so I’ve heard).

8. Apothecary Shop

Here’s another creative indoor stall idea: an apothecary shop for all of your island’s medicinal needs.

Start this design with some green wedding wallpaper, which will match the green of your many plants quite nicely.

Once you customize your stall to display an earthy pattern, add some simple panels with custom designs of shelves stocked with plants.

Then setup a couple of den desks for a checkout counter. All you’d really have left then would be the plants.

You’ll want some fan palms, potted ivy plants, moss balls, terrariums, floating biotope planters, and bonsai trees for all your herbal remedies.

7. Book and Coffee Shop

I like that this person included a cedar tree right in the middle of this shop. For whatever reason, it just looks like fun to read a book sitting in the shade.

As for the wooden bookshelves, you can craft many of them from books and wood, so be sure to stock up.

You can also craft some iron garden tables and chairs to create an actual sitting area.

And you’ll no doubt want an espresso maker to serve to your guests.

But the best part of this design has to be the customized stalls, panels, and shop sign.

Not only do the colors match, but this player also made a Tom Nook version of the Starbuck’s logo.

That’s just incredible.

6. Blue Palace

No, I’m not talking about the Blue Palace from Skyrim (though that would be epic). This is just a palace that’s blue.

Still pretty cool.

To make this yourself, you’ll need to start by creating two levels of elevation.

Next, customize many simple panels to display the palace windows, doors, walls, and plants.

On the upper level, setup the palace towers with a silo and some lighthouses. Don’t forget to add some iron fencing to create your castle parapet.

The lower level is where you’ll want to place your stall front and center, as the great gateway into your grand estate.

5. Marty’s Pompompurin Bakery

So this player set up a special bakery just for Marty.

I really like how the flooring and stalls are all customized to match Marty’s pompompurin color scheme. This is just a great idea all around.

To make this yourself, you’ll want to obtain some pompompurin tables, chairs, and even pompompurin pudding. Yum!

One the stalls, you’ll want to display all your delicious baked goods.

Mom’s homemade cake, yule logs, pi pies, and first anniversary cakes are just some of the yummy options here.

4. Newspaper and Magazine Stand

How many people actually read magazines and newspapers anymore?

If you’re still one of those people, then by all means give this newspaper stand a try.

This idea is really simple because all it really requires is crafting stalls and purchasing a bunch of magazines.

With the magazines, you can craft stacked magazines, or magazine racks to display your merch. Or both.

Then customize your magazines to specialize in gardening, news, or even comics!

3. Spirited Away Food Market

Spirited Away custom food stalls / ACNH Idea

I’ve never seen Spirited Away. But I can still tell that this person definitely captured the creepy aura of this market scene.

To make this on your island, you’ll want to setup this market between two of your villagers’ houses.

This player used Octavian and Zucker, but whoever you have will work perfectly fine.

Customize some simple panels to display the ghostly shadows, and then place your stalls in front of them.

Then add two more custom panels to create the stained glass windows.

Finally you’d just craft some wooden stools, and you’re ready to get spirited away.

2. Doggy Glamping Tent

For those of you who are not outdoorsy and don’t particularly enjoy camping, well, you might want to go glamping instead.

To make this idea you want to set it up in front of your island campsite. Wherever that may be is A-OK.

Then you wanna add your stall with a white pattern and place your precious puppy plushie on the countertop.

Next to the stall, place a wooden bunk bed. Because your pooch deserves the utmost comfort.

And in front of all this you’d add some custom standees to act as your glamping tent windows.

Then all you need is a wedding bench for some outdoor seating. Now you and your dog pal are ready to camp in style.

1. Victorian Vineyard

Custom vineyard with stands in ACNH

Here’s one awesome design that doesn’t put the stall front and center, but rather uses it as an addition to bring this area to life.

To make this vineyard design you’ll need to do some waterscaping and landscaping to make some cliffs with two small waterfalls. And then you’ll want to place a bridge over the lower level river.

In between the falls, proudly display your valiant statue as the vineyard centerpiece.

On both levels, setup plenty of simple panels customized to look like lattice fencing with vines popping out.

On one side, you’ll want to place your stall that features your wine bottles behind with some sparkling cider, and a custom cake hat on its counter.

And definitely don’t forget the café menu board. That way everyone can tell you’re serving nothing but the finest.
