It seems to me like high school anime always deals either with romance, with bullying, or a combination of the two.

And since you can’t really have bullying without little egocentric bullies, I thought it would be fun to count down some of the most terrible (yet memorable) bullies in all of anime.

Might wanna hike up your underwear in advance for this.

10. Kaede’s bullies

Anime: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

This first batch of low-lives don’t have names, but their actions have made quite an impact on the anime’s plot.

Sometime in middle school, Kaede started being bullied online and getting death threats, resulting in her being too afraid to go to school.

Not only did she not go, but she also had to ditch social media altogether. And to top it off, spoiler warning… she suffered from Adolescent Syndrome, making her gain cuts all over her body. She even dissociated so hard that she had complete amnesia.

So think twice before writing something mean online. You might ruin the life of a precious person like Kaede.

9. Haruhi Suzumiya

Anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

This one might be an unpopular opinion, but in my eyes Haruhi was a complete bully.

Her relationship with Mikuru alone should get her expelled and potentially sued for sexual harassment, not to mention how she treats other people.

Her “genius plan” to get a computer from the computer club is nothing short of extortion. And she genuinely does not seem to care about anyone that isn’t a close friend of hers.

I can’t say she’s the worst bully ever. But I will definitely remember her wrongdoings.

8. Chosuke Takada and Nobuta Tanaka

Anime: Assassination Classroom

Dumb and Dumber, right? That classic anime duo that just go around the school riding their high horse and belittling everyone who crosses their path.

This rings especially true for the class of 3-E, as they think that a low GPA makes you less than human or something.

Luckily, class 3-E vibe checks them really quick and puts into their place.

Although I doubt they ever stopped being ass-hats about everything.

7. Yumiko Miura

Anime: My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Yumiko is that typical popular girl who thinks she’s so high and mighty that you just really want to spit in her coffee or something.

She only ever listens to the hierarchy she has made in her head, and will treat anyone “below her” as disposable trash.

She never pulls her own weight when something is supposed to be done in teams. And god forbid you ever say no when she was expecting a yes, you’ll get an ear-full for sure.

6. Takamiya

Anime: Little Busters

Takamiya is your stereotypical bully character that has an obsessive urge to ruin our protagonist’s day.

What she and her posse do is tame compared to some of the upper ranks on this list. But still despicable.

They tend to bully every person in the Little Busters club by ruining their stuff, spreading rumors, manipulating other students to hate them, and constantly bombarding them with insults. Luckily, they get what’s coming to them once Yukio gets involved.

You don’t mess with a person that can drop-kick a door out of its frame.

5. Shouya Ishida

Anime: A Silent Voice

I think that we can all agree that kids are kind of jerks.

Since they’re young, they don’t know much about sympathy and generally say whatever comes to their mind.

Shouya was an awful little kid, as he bullied a person just for being different, and ultimately even made her change schools just to get away from him.

I honestly love Shouko so much that I would have put Shouya way higher, had he not seen the error of his ways and corrected his feelings.

4. Katsuki Bakugo

Anime: My Hero Academia

Bakugo is definitely the most popular bully. But he is far from being the worst one.

He usually just bullied Deku, as he seemed to really like stepping on those he thinks are below him.

He would belittle him, destroy his stuff, occasionally use his quirk to either threaten or hurt him… but he honestly never went too far.

I don’t condone his behaviour. But in comparison to some of the psychopaths on this list, Bakugo is an angel.

Yet speaking of psychopaths…

3. Tomoo

Anime: Elfen Lied

I already mentioned how kids can be jerks. But this little devil spawn truly takes it to a new level.

He did the usual bullying routine like name-calling, some shoving, taking your things and the like… but what truly made him horrible was when he killed a dog.

Not only did he kill it, but he did it slowly. And he made Kaede watch the entire thing.

Considering that she was taking care of that helpless little thing, it’s no wonder that Kaede lost all sympathy towards humans.

2. Aya Kuroda

Anime: Hell Girl

This character was literally on the screen for 5 minutes total. And yet I hated her with such a burning passion.

She’s the type of bully that really strives to ruin your entire life.

First it was theft, then blackmailing, then physical abuse, then ruining a person’s entire future in more ways than one.

It’s no wonder that she managed to push an innocent little girl to the conclusion that burning in hell was worth it, if it meant Aya was gone forever.

Talk about dark, right?

1. Sarina Shizukume

Sarina and her squad truly were the scum of the earth.

The lengths they went to just in order to stroke their own ego was truly disturbing, as their relentless bullying of Aya left her suicidal.

They destroyed her desk, put sharp objects into her shoes, physically abused her, and even went so far as to proposition her to men who were as terrible as the bullies themselves. How can you top that?

Sarina sticks out in particular, since even after the bullying incident she still continued being an absolute garbage person, and stopping at nothing for her revenge.
