5 Anime Characters Who Could Beat Kabuto Yakushi

Kabuto is one of those characters that we all collectively sleep on, even though he basically controlled the entire ninja war in the beginning.

So trust me when I say that finding other anime characters that could face him was a bit difficult.

That being said, here are my picks for some of the most interesting matchups that could likely beat Kabuto.

5. Escanor

Escanor from The Seven Deadly Sins

Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins

One of the tricks Kabuto has in the bag is terrain manipulation, where he can form spikes and move the earth as he pleases.

However, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue for Escanor – at full power as he just melts everything around him.

His AoE heat also gives him a second bonus, since Kabuto turns his body into liquid form to pull off a lot of his tricks.

And since Escanor is basically a miniature Sun, Kabuto might vaporize if he’s too close.

Furthermore, Escanor is quite a bit ahead when it comes to raw damage output and tenacity.

He easily tanked the Demon King, who’s at least a city buster, and he conjured literal Suns that evaporated entire lakes while in his base form.

The last season of The Seven Deadly Sins was basically a PowerPoint presentation, so we didn’t get to see the full extent of Escanor’s power.

But if The One managed to double his strength, he’s likely to win within that one minute interval.

4. Zagred

Zagred from Black Clover

Anime: Black Clover

Zagred isn’t the most powerful demon we’ve seen in the Black Clover anime so far.

But he’s just way too difficult to handle. That’s mostly because of his summons.

The living goo that he spawns could counter Kabuto in a few major ways.

First, it’s technically alive, so he can’t use his jutsu in order to control the terrain effectively.

Secondly, it completely destroys normal magic – so any and all types of summons or projectile attacks would simply get absorbed instantly.

Zagred can also issue commands and fling Kabuto around, as well as summon swords to rain from the sky and absolutely desecrate anything below.

And all of this is not even mentioning the fact that his healing abilities surpass even Kabuto, as you can literally blow him up completely and he’ll still regenerate like nothing ever happened.

3. All For One

All For One from My Hero Academia

Anime: My Hero Academia

This fight is kind of a stretch, but hear me out!

If All For One had some prep time, he could absolutely destroy Kabuto in a one-on-one fight.

The key component is that he manages to steal Eri’s Quirk.

We’ve already seen that Eri is capable of tearing apart enemies that have absorbed other people, like Overhaul. So it wouldn’t take All For One long to simply yank all of Kabuto’s power and reduce him to his base form.

And if given enough time, he could also wipe Kabuto out of existence all together.

But how would he buy himself enough time?

Well, the one area I think Kabuto somewhat suffers in is AoE damage. Both his terrain manipulation and bone manipulation seem to only cover a relatively small surface.

All For One, on the other hand, can wipe out half the city in a single punch.

So, if All For One used his flying Quirk and then started spamming air punches like there was no tomorrow, Eri’s Quirk would have enough time to sufficiently ramp up and delete anything alive that’s unlucky enough to be nearby.

2. Julius Novachrono

Julius Novachrono from Black Clover

Anime: Black Clover

If the previous rewind battle wasn’t convincing enough, this one should put you at ease.

Julius is on a whole different level when it comes to battle prowess. He has the speed needed to keep up with literal light attacks, and the destructive force to one-shot most foes.

He can simply slow down time and get his damage off that way, completely freeze his enemies, and just leave them like that – or rewind any attack that comes his way until they run out of juice.

You might think that Julius himself would run out of power at some point.

But if the situation calls for it, he can use his Grimoire to massively enhance his strength.

I mean, he did cast a country level spell at one point, so I doubt Kabuto could tire him out all that quickly.

Overall, Julius is simply overpowered.

He has stats that are far superior to Kabuto’s, as well as enough hax abilities to render almost any enemy completely helpless.

1. Giorno Giovanna

Giorno Giovanna from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

It only felt appropriate to end with Giorno, because the outcome of this fight would basically be identical to Kabuto’s end in the actual series.

In case you’re not up to date on your JoJo lore, a Golden Experience Requiem Giorno basically has a stronger version of Izanami, where he can toss you into an endless loop of death with no hope of every coming out.

But what makes Giorno’s version better is that he can also CTRL + Z anything you throw his way, making any chances of you beating him absolutely null – unless you’re some type of cosmic being.

I know some people would argue that Golden Experience has to actually kill you in order to throw you into a loop, and that Giorno doesn’t have enough fire-power to defeat most shounen characters.

But that’s not the case here.

Kabuto’s actual tenacity isn’t that high, as even a normal sword slash can damage him. And he relies more on his regeneration.

But since Golden Experience can literally knock your soul out of your body while also easily being a building buster, I don’t think Kabuto would have the time or reflexes to retaliate.
