It’d be difficult to find a single Naruto fan that didn’t rejoice when Danzo finally bit the bullet.

I mean, the dude stopped us from ever seeing Shisui in action, and basically led to all of Sasuke’s mental health issues.

So to give us that dopamine hit one more time, let’s talk about some other hypothetical anime battles that Danzo would lose.

I’m considering characters from all anime, but I’m avoiding any obvious OP characters, just to keep the battles interesting.

10. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald from Bungo Stray Dogs

Anime: Bungo Stray Dogs

As you’ll quickly see, most of these picks are themed in one way or another.

Since Danzo is basically your average selfish politician, I thought it would be fun to pit him against his worst nightmare: a rich Wall Street boy with some strong connections.

When it comes to actual combat, Fitzgerald has the type of stats Danzo could only dream of – making any attempt at an outplay completely useless.

The peak of Danzo’s destructive power is cutting boulders in half with his wind style, and a suicide bomb sealing jutsu that covered like 20 feet.

Fitzgerald, on the other hand, managed to one-tap K.O. a dude who usually isn’t phased by getting literally impaled.

In terms of durability, Danzo has to spam Izanagi like there’s no tomorrow – while Fitzgerald calmly stated that he would survive a city-wide explosion.

Not to mention that the punch that only knocked him unconscious was so powerful that it parted the clouds above them.

Thematically fitting, but an absolute slaughter when actually played out.

But I don’t like Danzo so who really cares.

9. Kai Chisaki

Kai Chisaki from My Hero Academia

Anime: My Hero Academia

Okay, this matchup heavily leans on a particular interaction between Izanagi and Overhaul.

The way I see it, if Overhaul touches Danzo, he could make all of his sharingan eyes go blind immediately before actually killing him, so as to avoid the whole “Izanagi get out of jail free card”.

Obviously, you could point out that Chisaki wouldn’t immediately know that this is how Izanagi functioned. But I think he would get the message after the first or second time.

And considering how he’d survive until then, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

He can control the terrain and disrupt Danzo’s movement, as well as create protection for himself while also healing any damage that Danzo does manage to deal.

If he gets hit by a paralysis seal, he can rebuild his body – since as we’ve seen it doesn’t actually stop your powers, but just your movement, and any kunai attacks should be easy to dodge.

I can’t say that Chisaki’s victory is one hundred percent certain.

And Danzo could definitely catch him off guard the first time around.

But if Overhaul can wipe out his sharingan arm or even absorb it for Chisaki himself to use, Danzo will be pushing daisies.

8. Yami Sukehiro

Yami Sukehiro from Black Clover

Anime: Black Clover

Since Danzo already got axed by one sword using darkness-powered boy, I thought we ‘d throw another one into the mix.

Although I will say that this battle would not be nearly as close as Sasuke’s was.

There, I said it, come at me Uchiha boys!

Basically, Yami has the advantage in every field imaginable.

He’s way faster than Danzo, being able to deflect attacks made up of actual light.

Plus he’s way stronger, basically blowing people up with a single sword point. And he’s way more durable, surviving a miniature Chibaku Tensei and still fighting at his maximum.

It’s also important to note that Yami is likely not going to be surprised by Izanagi all that much, since the combination of his ki senses and his Mana Zone make him fully aware of everything that’s happing around him at all times.

So he can basically toss out any type of slash or thrust, destroy Danzo, and then take a puff while he waits for Danzo to pop out again. Rinse and repeat.

Danzo would maybe have a shot if he managed to put the paralysis seal on Yami. But honestly the odds of him ever getting that close are very slim.

7. Galand

Galand from The Seven Deadly Sins

Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins

For Galand to win this battle, all he would have to do is ask Danzo a question.

Any question really, as this man lies as easily as he breathes. And the odds of him turning into stone immediately are pretty much one hundred percent.

But even if he wasn’t all that chatty, he would still lose quite spectacularly.

That’s because Danzo simply doesn’t have the stats necessary to actually harm this dude.

When at full power, it takes at least mountain-destroying level of attack to graze Galand. And as we’ve established, Danzo clocks out at building level with his wind blasts.

And even if he tried his kamikaze approach, Galand would have more than enough time to just hop away and avoid the damage.

Overall, Danzo literally stands no chance in terms of actual stats – and I included Galand exclusively because I thought it would be hilarious if Danzo just turned into stone after uttering a single word.

Especially since it’s not technically death, so maybe Izanagi doesn’t work.

6. Rudeus Greyrat

Rudeus Greyrat from Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Anime: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

By the end of season two, Rudeus basically became like a pseudo Uchiha.

So it seems appropriate for him to defeat Danzo.

Just like with the sharingan, Rudeus’ devil eye allows him to see slightly into the future and predict his opponent’s movements, drastically increasing his combat prowess.

Like seriously, even without his magic, this little dude is quite dangerous.

But if he does start weaving spells around, Danzo is basically done for.

With abilities that morph terrain to slow Danzo down, as well as fire blasts that are hinted to be god tier in terms of damage output… there’s no universe where Danzo doesn’t get one-shotted by every single ability.

Danzo’s only hope is to immediately kill Rudeus after the first Izanagi, since Rudeus might drop his guard at that point.

But since Rudeus usually fights from a distance, I doubt Danzo could sneak up and attack before Rudeus realizes that Danzo’s body is mysteriously gone.

5. Giorno Giovanna

Giorno Giovanna from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

This battle would thematically be quite fitting for two major reasons.

  1. Danzo’s Hashirama cells sprout trees all of the time
  2. And both characters are masters of the “sike” battle tactic

However, Golden Experience Requiem is simply way better at Uno reverse cards than Danzo could ever be. It allows Giorno to reverse anything and everything.

So right off the bat, we know Danzo is not landing any damage.

Plus, Golden Experience is just way stronger and faster when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. So even without the reverse ability, Danzo would really have to pull some sneaky maneuvers to get a single lick in.

Now that I think about it, Giorno could probably even reverse Danzo’s Izanagi, which is like the most disrespectful move one could pull.

And on top of that, if he kills him, he basically throws him into the JoJo’s equivalent of the Izanami – which is the counterpart to Izanagi.

Truly this battle would be a hoot to watch, regardless of how absolutely one-sided it would be.

4. Pain

Pain from Naruto: Shippuden

Anime: Naruto: Shippuden

I wanted to include at least one other Naruto character here, just so Sasuke fans feel a bit less special.

Pain would absolutely destroy Danzo, since he pretty much counters him in every way.

With the shared vision between the Six Paths, his Izanagi charges do nothing more than buy time, because there’s no way he’s getting the drop on any of these dudes.

His ranged attacks won’t do much either, since they would just get absorbed. And his paralysis scroll is pretty much useless, as the odds of pulling that stunt six times in a row are basically zero.

Even his self-destruct probably wouldn’t do much since one Shinra Tensei would knock him far away enough for it to be harmless.

And that’s pretty much it.

There’s no way that Danzo wins this in a million years, unless he pulls some plot-armor shenanigans, like in his fight against Shisui & snatches all of their eyes in an instant.

3. Gauche Adlai

Gauche Adlai from Black Clover

Anime: Black Clover

As I kind of hinted in my previous pick, vision is incredibly important when facing Danzo.

His Izanagi is only a game-changer if you can catch people off guard and end the battle before they figure out your tactic.

However, that’s somewhat difficult to do when the entire battlefield is covered in mirrors, and your opponent can basically see you from every angle imaginable.

And not only can he see you… but he can also launch a chain attack that’ll bounce everywhere, and maybe even take you out while you’re popping out of your Izanagi.

Wouldn’t that be truly depressing?

And when it comes to Danzo attacking Gauche, his odds are extremely low.

Not only does Gauche usually just fly around, but he can also use his mirrors to teleport over short distances & even bounce your attacks back at you. So Danzo is definitely not going to be able to get up-close and personal with this sister lover.

Overall, Gauche wins with no difficulty, or maybe mid-difficulty, depending how serious he is at the beginning of the battle & whether or not Danzo insulted his sister at any point.

2. Menthuthuyoupi

Menthuthuyoupi from Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Anime: Hunter x Hunter (2011)

If Danzo can roll up with an entire arm covered in eyes, it’s only fair that we can give Youpi a shot.

His entire body is like an optometrist’s resume.

Just like with my previous picks, Youpi would have full vision of everything going on around him. So Izanagi won’t be able to catch him with his pants around his ankles.

And any hopes Danzo had of setting up a trap would immediately die.

When it comes to the actual battle, Danzo just gets bodied. Youpi’s tentacles can just slash everything around him at incredible speeds. And since Danzo has the durability of a garage-sale condom, even a single whack will probably force his hand.

Youpi, on the other hand, is just a chunk of meat that you can punch for decades without him even noticing your presence.

So those tiny little wind slashes are (at most) going to relieve some of the tension in Youpi’s shoulders.

No matter how you spin it, Danzo gets bodied here. And the man with the larger number of eyes wins.

There’s a motivational quote in there somewhere.

1. Panda

Panda from Jujutsu Kaisen

Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen

Let’s end with Panda since this fight would be hilarious and thematically neat to watch.

Could you imagine Danzo’s face after he realizes that this random Kung Fu Panda basically has an Izanagi Lite due to its three cores?

Man, it would be hysterical!

And that’s not even mentioning the fact that mister god and dictator Danzo would get beat up by the most unassuming and goofy character there is.

Make no mistake: Panda would definitely win this fight. Both his tenacity and his strength go way beyond anything Danzo has ever showed in the anime.

Especially once Panda gets a bit cranky and calls out one of his siblings.

From tanking laser beams to slapping someone through an entire forest, Panda means business. And I would bet my bottom dollar that even a single serious hit would force Danzo into using Izanagi.

All of this is not even mentioning that we haven’t even seen Panda’s other potentially even more powerful transformation!

So Danzo gets a taste of his own medicine here & gets rightfully humiliated by a talking Panda – probably for denying us the opportunity to see Sasuke, Itachi, and Shisui fighting side-by-side.
