Dark Souls 3: Best Weapons To Infuse With Lightning

In DS3, lightning is a fantastic element found in ample supply for faith builders.

In fact, it’s one of the best damage types in the whole game for PvE content, as most enemies are weak to it, with only a handful having resistance!

Infusing a weapon with lightning will do just that – add lightning damage, and a huge amount of faith scaling!

This naturally makes them a perfect match for miracle builds, and lightning weapons are a staple swap-out in many setups for if your buffs expire mid-fight.

In this list I’ll be going over our choices for lightning weapons – though bear in mind any weapon you love could be used comfortably if it reaches decent scalings!

5. Murakumo

The Murakumo is an incredible curved greatsword that is tragically overlooked due to its high stat requirements.

It has fantastic base damage, huge range, a great moveset, and a combo-heavy weapon skill – though the cherry on top is that gorgeous S-scaling in faith when infused!

In fact, the Murakumo responds well to every infusion, reaching S on almost every single-stat infusion and A/A on dual stats!

Curved greatswords are some of the best weapons for both PvP and PvE, and I definitely recommend trying this out.

4. Harpe

Quickstep-spam weapons are undeniably overpowered, with the murky hand scythe being one of the top PvP weapons ever since its release in the ringed city.

The harpe is very similar, and favors lower-level combat- responding well to single-stat infusions and not requiring the investment of the MHS.

Its base requirements are hilariously low, and it hits A-scaling in faith with a lightning infusion!

And to top it off, it has huge hit-stun properties, making stunlocking enemies easy while you dance around them invulnerable!

3. Lothric Knight Greatsword

Infusible weapons that sport base elemental damage are very rare, and this is one of them.

With a huge innate chunk of lightning damage, the LKG is capable of some of the highest damage numbers in the entire game!

It reaches A-scaling in faith when infused, which also has the hidden buff of making the innate lightning damage scale!

This essentially supercharges your faith build’s lightning damage and causes your attacks to decimate enemies.

2. Lothric Knight Sword

It simply is not a ‘top X’ list without the Lothric knight sword.

Sitting head and shoulders above its competition as one of the best weapons in the entire game, this sword reaches S-scaling on almost any single stat it’s infused with – lightning included.

Its quick swings and spammy playstyle compliment this amazingly, too!

Bundle that up with its increased crit damage, massive range, and low-stamina-cost attacks, and you can easily see why people are sick of hearing about it.

1. Sellsword Twinblades

Sellsword Twinblades from Dark Souls 3

On the subject of quick swings and spammy playstyles, the sellsword twinblades are the top dog, and are renowned for their ability to shred through anything in their path.

They reach A-scaling in faith when infused and retain a nice C-scaling in dex, which makes them incredible for miracle/dex hybrids!

And when 2-handed, its L1 attacks are filled with multi-hit, stunlocking goodness, which will kill even bosses in seconds and destroy enemy players in a single rotation if they don’t dodge in time!

Elemental damage loves to be applied thick and fast, so these dual blades are practically made for the job.

How to get: Starting equipment for the mercenary, or found behind the black knight in the road of sacrifices.
