Religion on planet Earth is rarely seen as “cool,” but in the Lands Between, the faithful are boss.

Gods in the world of Elden Ring are much more involved in the affairs of mortals, and they’re more than willing to share their power through Incantations.

These Faith-based magic spells can carry you all the way to the Elden Throne – and, more importantly, they can help you get there in style.

If you want to cast the most awe-inspiring and badass Incantations, consider my picks for the coolest incantations in the game.

10. Black Flame Blade

Black Flame Blade Incantation in Elden Ring

Black Flame incantations are as cool as they are mysterious.

According to the lore, the black flame originates from the Gloam-Eyed Queen, an Outer God with the power to kill other gods. This divine being was banished by Marika long ago – but her servants and their dark arts remain.

Other than making your right-hand equipment look downright diabolical, the black flame will stick to enemies, robbing them of their health for a little while after a hit.

How to get: You can get this Incantation from Brother Corhyn or Miriel the Turtle Pope after giving them the Godskin Prayerbook, found in Stormveil Castle.

9. Elden Stars

Elden Stars Incantation in Elden Ring

Elden Stars can be a beautiful manifestation of your faith if you’re committed to the worship of the Greater Will and want nothing to do with any alternative Outer Gods.

This incantation mimics the arrival of the Elden Beast to the Lands Between by creating a slow-moving stream of golden energy, shooting out golden projectiles at your enemies.

These “stars” move in beautiful arches, dancing on their way to punishing the infidels that stand in your path.

How to get: Elden Stars is found inside a Giant Ant burrow in the side of a cliff at the Deeproot Depths.

8. Aspects of the Crucible: Horns

Aspects of the Crucible: Horns Incantation in Elden Ring

Aspects of the Crucible incantations allow the caster to manifest powerful body parts of other living beings, such as the massive tail of a dragon or a throat pouch full of fiery breath.

My favorite of these primal manifestations is the Horns.

They grow on your shoulder after casting and allow you to gore foes by slamming your body against them. You can charge the move for even more damage and a cooler animation.

How to get: This incantation is one of the Crucible Knights’ signature moves, and it’s from them that you’ll get it. Just keep going down below the Ramparts in Stormveil Castle until reaching a run-down archway.

7. Discus of Light

Discus of Light Incantation in Elden Ring

Fans of Dragon Ball Z will remember Krillin’s signature move from the Vegeta Saga: the Destructo Disc.

The devs at FromSoftware decided to honor Akira Toriyama by including the Destructo Disc as a Golden Order incantation known as the Discus of Light.

The main difference between Discus of Light and the Destructo Disc is that the former returns to you after casting. Its power is also drawn from the Erdtree rather than your Ki.

How to get: Discus of Light will become available for purchase from Brother Corhyn once he’s at Goldmask’s side in Altus Plateau.

6. Stone of Gurranq

Stone of Gurranq Incantation in Elden Ring

If you’re playing a STR/FAI character who prays to Marika while deadlifting for massive gains, you’ll love the Stone of Gurranq.

This incantation lets your character exhibit their inhuman strength by pulling a giant rock from the ground and savagely hurling it at their enemy like a snowball.

Your character will look like a total badass hurling stones at dragons and gods.

How to get: Gurranq will share this arcane art after receiving six Deathroots.

5. Wrath of Gold

Wrath of Gold Incantation in Elden Ring

This incantation was discovered by the Erdtree’s faithful after the shattering of the Elden Ring, and it was interpreted as a sign of their god’s outrage.

Casting Wrath of gold makes your character look like Goku transforming into a Super Saiyan. It’s like your Faith is suddenly over 9000, and you just can’t hold in your religious fervor.

Pushing back enemies – including invaders – with your pious shockwave is a major boss move that’ll remind your enemies that they’re only alive because the Erdtree allows them to be.

How to get: Wrath of Gold is found in the Woodfolk Ruins, near the Minor Erdtree in Altus Plateau.

4. Vyke’s Dragonbolt

Vyke’s Dragonbolt Incantation in Elden Ring

Do you know what makes the Sith so popular among Star Wars fans?

That’s right: the red Lightsabers.

Dragonbolt Blessing can clad your body in lightning – but Vyke’s Dragonbolt does it in red. Plus, the casting animation is way cooler, and it overcharges your sword as well.

Lansseax would be proud.

How to get: Defeat Roundtable Knight Vyke in the Lord Contender’s Evergaol at the Mountaintops of the Giants.

3. Fortissax’s Lightning Spear

Fortissax’s Lightning Spear Incantation in Elden Ring

Lichdragon Fortissax is one of the most bad-ass enemies in Elden Ring – and the incantation you get from his Remembrance will make you into the most bad-ass Tarnished.

Fortissax’s Lightning Spear allows your character to create two red lightning javelins and launch them forward in an epic airborne animation. The spears shatter into hundreds of lightning streams upon reaching their target, electrifying the area around them.

I almost can’t believe there are two incantations cooler than this.

How to get: You can obtain this incantation by exchanging the Remembrance of the Lichdragon at Enia’s in the Roundtable Hold.

2. Black Blade

Black Blade Incantation in Elden Ring

The only thing cooler than a giant sword is a massive, magical, cursed sword.

Casting the Black Blade summons Maliketh’s signature weapon for your character to mimic the beast and perform a devastating spinning slash resembling a drill.

In the words of the all-time coolest anime Gurren Lagann: “Your drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!”

How to get: Exchange it for the Remembrance of the Black Blade at Enia’s in the Roundtable Hold.

1. Scarlet Aeonia

Scarlet Aeonia Incantation in Elden Ring

Malenia, Blade of Miquella, claims to have never known defeat.

You’d think it’s because of her mastery as a myrmidon, but it’s actually thanks to the power of Rot.

Whenever Malenia is close to defeat, she’ll just trigger a “Bloom,” corrupting the surrounding area along with her foes. It’s a horrible way to die – but the sight of the bright orange blooming flower as you’re taken by the Rot must be glorious.

It definitely looks fantastic when you do it with the Scarlet Aeonia incantation.

How to get: Scarlet Aeonia can be drawn out of the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess by Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
