Rangers can provide a lot more than a simple free victory in Automaton Tower.

They’re often fast and designed to hit hard, with little thought given to their defense.

But which ones stand out the most?

Let’s look into some of the best Rangers that Epic Seven has to offer across all forms of content.

15. Lidica

Rarity: 5*
Element: Fire

Fire Lidica was a long-awaited character, but one that has since fallen into obscurity.

She’s still great in certain PVE fights that require combat readiness reduction (such as the fight against Dark Corvus in Abyss).

But other than this, she sees relatively no play.

Her bridal skin, on the other hand, is still one of the best in the entire game.

14. Bellona

Rarity: 5*
Element: Earth

Green Bellona sees little-to-no play nowadays as well – but she can still be a terrific addition to a fresh account.

Her skill one absolutely shreds through most early game Abyss bosses.

And her AOE defense break makes her able to deal maximum damage without a support!

Bellona’s exclusive equipment has made her all the more viable now that her defense break procs at an even higher rate.

13. Celeste

Rarity: 3*
Element: Light

Celeste is another opener unit, but one that requires a lot of investment and a dedicated team to support her.

If you have other openers like Pavel or Cerise, we’d recommend that you build them first and save all the Celestes for the whales.

However, if you’re tired of your one and only opener being banned all the time? Then Celeste is a great budget opener.

12. Furious

Rarity: 4*
Element: Ice

Furious was tailor-made for Wyvern 13.

His entire kit revolves around inflicting powerful debuffs onto enemies including Burns, Defense Breaks, and Targets (if used with certain artifacts).

Furious can be picked up for free from Connections, and will make you journey to Wyvern 13 auto-farming much easier.

11. Watcher Schuri

Rarity: 4*
Element: Light

Watcher Schuri is great for two reasons:

First, he excels as a nuker, capable of one-shotting almost every unit in the entire game (aside from damage mitigating units like Tempest Surin or Spirit Eye Celine).

And second, Watcher Schuri is great in a speed composition.

His imprint can grant additional speed to the entire team depending on his imprint grade.

10. Kiris

Rarity: 3*
Element: Earth

Kiris may only be a three-star hero – but she’s one of the best Abyss heroes in E7.

Kiris’ ability to consistently stack poison debuffs, while also extending their duration, makes her great for taking down high-health enemy bosses.

Additionally, Kiris requires very little investment.

All she needs to compete in PVE is 65% Effectiveness and around 240 speed.

You don’t even need to six-star or fully awaken her!

9. Faithless Lidica

Rarity: 5*
Element: Light

Faithless Lidica’s lack of speed in the modern era of Epic Seven makes her a less than viable pick for RTA.

However, she’s still great as a secondary combat readiness pusher and support.

Her skill three can reset an enemy’s cooldown, while also granting skill nullifier to the entire team.

Hopefully if we all ask Smilegate to buff Flidica in the recent E7 survey, she’ll be able to shine once again.

8. Cerise

Rarity: 5*
Element: Ice

Cerise has been unfortunately power crept out of the meta by a certain bodacious wolf girl.

But she’s still great as an opener, should you have failed to pick up Peira.

Cerise’s AOE skill three restricts opponents, meaning you need not worry about combat readiness climbers like Apocalypse Ravi, Little Queen Charlotte, or Sage Baal and Sezan.

Her skill two can also stun, and her skill one triggers a dual attack – making Cerise able to do more in extended fights – unlike a traditional opener only interested in taking turn one.

7. Flan

Rarity: 5*
Element: Ice

Flan is a great supportive Ranger who can buff your team’s damage while debuffing the opponent.

Her claim to fame is a non-damage-dealing AOE defense break which also pushes the enemy back.

She can then use her skill two to push a heroes’ combat readiness & critical hit damage to unleash a devastating cleave.

6. Pavel

Pavel screenshot from Epic Seven

Rarity: 5*
Element: Earth

Pavel is your all-around turn one Ranger, and allow me to list why:

  • AOE cleave that can deal heavy damage, possibly kill Arbiter Vildred, and proc Summertime Iseria bombs: Check!
  • A third skill that deals heavy single-target damage allowing you to take out any pesky Revivers: Check!
  • Enough speed to make a Peira blush: Check!

Pavel is a great Ranger, but is very gear intensive.

Without 280-300+ speed, he’s next to useless.

5. Operator Sigret

Rarity: 5*
Element: Dark

If someone brings a barrier, you bring Operator Sigret.

Operator Sigret’s ability to destroy any unit targeted by a barrier makes her essential in countering drafts containing Fallen Cecilia.

Op Sig can also work well as an opener, if built with enough speed.

Her ability to strip buffs (and also push the enemy back) makes her a great hero to take the first turn.

4. Summertime Iseria

Rarity: 5*
Element: Fire

Summertime Iseria is everything Roaming Warrior Leo should have been.

When paired with a fast AOE unit like Ran or Peira, Summertime Iseria’s cleave reaches heights that even Judge Kise and Blood Blade Karin couldn’t hope to match.

By planting bombs on target units that can then be detonated using her skill three, Summertime Iseria can deal massive damage to multiple units – while also stunning those too tanky to be taken down in one hit.

3. Briar Witch Iseria

Rarity: 5*
Element: Dark

Briar Witch Iseria is a great damage-dealing buff stripper who can stick around thanks to her passive invincibility.

When built fast, she can cripple the enemy with debuffs.

And when built slower, she can cleave an enemy team with the right support.

Briar Witch Iseria is in a great spot, despite what people might have you believe.

2. Seaside Bellona

Rarity: 5*
Element: Ice

Despite not being as viable as she once was in the world of PVP, SSB is still a fantastic Ranger – capable of dealing heavy damage and inflicting defense break.

SSB is your go-to Wyvern 13 DPS alongside Sigret who can not only deal damage, but also act as a pseudo-support character capable of inflicting debuffs.

SSB also shines in other PVE content such as Automaton Tower and Abyss.

All in all, SSB has traded in her crown as the queen of PvP, and steadily taken up residence as one of the best PVE DPS heroes in the entire game.

1. Landy

Rarity: 5*
Element: Earth

It’s incredible how a single artifact can make a unit viable.

Arguably, Landy was already pretty strong – but thanks to Guiding Light, she’s in another realm of top-tier.

Landy’s defense penetration (which is based on the number of enemy buffs) makes her a powerful threat.

And her ability to cycle this skill three fairly quickly while also pushing combat readiness each time is a testament to her viability.

Bottom line: Landy is an incredibly powerful unit who lives up to her title as a Limited Unit.
