The Goobbue Mount is a Legacy Mount, only obtainable in the original release of FFXIV in 2012. It was added in Patch 1.2 of the original version of the game.

It was available to any Level 30 player by speaking with the Wandering Minstrel (Eastern La Noscea, X: 36 Y:25).

This unfortunately means that as of this writing, there is no way currently in the game to obtain this Mount.

The Goobbue itself was actually added as a sort-of reward.

Players who suffered through the hazarded and notorious launch of FFXIV got it for free.

Along with a fancy tattoo and fond memories of having to spend hours traversing pasted forest corridors.

The good news is that there’s an extremely similar mount available!

The Laurel Goobbue can be obtained from the Sylph Beast Tribe upon reaching Rank 7 (Trusted).

All it costs is a bit of time, effort, and 120,000 Gil.

To unlock the Sylphs daily Beast Tribe Quests, seek out Vorsaile Heuloix (New Gridania – The Adders Nest, X:10 Y:11).

The Quest “Seeking Solace” will send you to the Central Shroud.

From there you just need to speak with Olmxio and Frixio in Little Solace. That’s all there is to it – you’re now ready to get to work for the Sylphs.

It’ll take you roughly 23 days of doing the three highest Quests available to reach Trusted.

This can be done a little quicker if you use multiple allowances.

And even if it’s a consolation prize, the Laurel Goobbue is a great mount by itself! Certainly worth getting if you’re a Goobbue fan.
