The Brave New Urianger can be acquired as a reward from completing a weekly Wondrous Tails journal, by exchanging one of Khloe’s Silver Certificate of Commendation to Khloe Aliapoh herself. You can also add this minion to your collection by purchasing him from the Market Board, but prices can vary greatly depending on your Data Center and World server.
It was added to Final Fantasy XIV with the release of Patch 6.0: Endwalker, and this little guy features the verbose Scion in his signature Shadowbringers outfit.
Wondrous Tails is a weekly activity introduced to FFXIV in the Heavensward expansion.
It can be completed by anyone with a Disciple of War or Magic at level 60 and above, and it allows players to clear older content such as Dungeons, Extreme Trials, Normal Raids, and Alliance Raids in order to earn special rewards.
In order to unlock Wondrous Tails, players must complete the level 60 quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs”, obtainable from the Unctuous Adventurer located in Idyllshire, right by Rowena’s Center for Cultural Promotion (x:7.0, y:5.9).
Completing this quest rewards you with 103 Gil, and unlocks both Wondrous Tails and access to the level 80 quest “Fantastic Mr. Faux”.
Completing Wondrous Tails
Here’s a quick run-down of what you’ll need to do here to snag your minion.
1. Obtain a Wondrous Tails journal from Khloe
Once unlocked, you can pick up a Wondrous Tails journal from Khloe Aliapoh in Idyllshire (x:5.7, y:6.1).
A new journal will be available from Khloe every Tuesday at 12:00 AM PST/3:00 AM EST/8:00 AM GMT.
Each Wondrous Tails will have a two week grace period for completion before it expires, and you can find this deadline in your journal menu.
Progress on your weekly Wondrous Tails journal can be viewed anytime by accessing it from the Items menu in your Inventory.
2. Complete Duties to receive Seals
Each Wondrous Tails journal will feature 16 different in-game Duties on the left page.
The main objective of Wondrous Tails is to complete these duties in order to earn Seals.
Once you complete a Duty, you can mark off the corresponding square in your journal, with a maximum of up to 9 completed duties per week. These Duties vary from player to player.
The Seals will appear on the right page of your journal, above the list of possible rewards for that week. To be eligible for these rewards, you have to get either of the following:
9 Seals
1 Line: 4 Seals in a single row on the page, either diagonally, vertically, or horizontally.
2 Lines: 8 Seals in two rows on the page, either diagonally, vertically, or horizontally.
3 Lines: 9 Seals in three rows on the page, either diagonally, vertically, or horizontally.
Seals are given to you at random, but you’ll be able to shuffle them around on the page by using Second Chance points from the menu below your list of Duties on the left page.
Second Chance points are awarded to you whenever you complete an objective with one or more party members who are new to the duty.
You can store up to nine points at a time.
Second Chance points can also be used to retry a Duty from your list, so you can complete the same objective again in order to gain an additional Seal.
Once you’re satisfied with the amount of Seals you’ve received, you can deliver the journal to Khloe who will reward you accordingly.
There’s a base reward for completing the journal with nine seals, with additional rewards for each line you were able to obtain.
Rewards From Wondrous Tails
Completing a Wondrous Tails journal can give you the following rewards, depending on the Seals you were able to get during the week:
9 Seals
Experience Points on your currently equipped Disciple of War or Magic Job, approximately 50% of a level. You can also select one of the following rewards:
1 Allagan Platinum Piece
500 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics
1 Timeworn Treasure Map
1 Line
You can select one of the following rewards:
1 MGP Gold Card (30,000 MGP)
1 Khloe’s Bronze Certificate of Commendation
50 Allagan Tomestones
2 Lines
You can select one of the following rewards:
2 MGP Platinum Cards (50,000 MGP each for a total of 100,000 MGP)
1 Khloe’s Silver Certificate of Commendation
500 Allagan Tomestones
3 Lines
You can select one of the following rewards:
20 MGP Platinum Cards (50,000 MGP each for a total of 1,000,000 MGP)
3 Khloe’s Silver Certificate of Commendation
1 Khloe’s Gold Certificate of Commendation
You can get your Brave New Urianger from Khloe by attaining at least 2 Lines in your weekly Wondrous Tails journal – this will earn you a Khloe’s Silver Certificate of Commendation.
Once you have that, you can trade it in for your Brave New Urianger (among a few other minions too).
