How To Get The Enbarr Mount in FFXIV

Enbarr circles Pharos Sirius among The Isles of Umbra (FFXIV)

You can get the Enbarr mount as a drop from the Level 50 Trial “The Whorleater (Extreme)”. With every clear, you’ve got a roughly 20% chance of getting the Enbarr Whistle to appear in the coffer. Then you’ll have to win the loot roll against your fellow party members before claiming your wet horse.

The fight is relatively easy at this point:

Just grab a small group of friends or post in Party Finder. You can still fall off the boat, though, so familiarize yourself with that mechanic to avoid drowning.

Gaining An Audience With The Lord Of The Whorl

While you initially confront Leviathan as part of the Main Story, his Extreme Trial is the one you’ll be farming.

First and foremost, you’ll need to have completed the Quest “Through the Maelstrom.” This Quest is part of the Story at level 50, so it’s likely out of the way already.

The process afterwards is a bit more involved, since you’ll be slaying familiar Primals repeatedly. Pray return to the Waking Sands in Vesper Bay to get started.

Chat with Minfilia Warde (The Waking Sands, X:7 Y:6) to start “A Recurring Problem”.

The Beast Tribes happen to have the nasty habit of hoarding Crystals and repeatedly summoning their God for you to slay.

You’ll be dispatching your new (old) foes in this order to get to Leviathan:

With all of those sidequests out of the way, you’ll head back to Urianger one final time and chat him up to get the Quest “Whorl of a Time”.

With that in hand, take a quick trip to R’ashaht Rhiki (Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks – The Aftcastle, X:13 Y:13).

Now that you have your marching orders, speak with Styrnlona (Lower La Noscea – The Mourning Widow, X:25 Y:33) to unlock the Trial.

How Many Wonders Can One Whorl Hold?

In the process of farming for your Enbarr Whistle, you’ll likely accumulate a myriad of Wave weapons.

While they lack the often-sought after particle effects of similar Primal weapons, you can actually augment them.

They don’t really point this out, but take a stroll over to Aelina (Mor Dhona – Revenant’s Toll, X:23 Y:7). You can then exchange your Wave weapons in addition to the “Mirror of the Whorl” token for a fancier version.

You don’t often see players with these weapons, so it’s a cool glamour option to impress your friends with.
