How To Get The Jibanyan Couch Mount in FFXIV

Jibanyan Couch floating in the Ultima Thule (FFXIV)

The Jibanyan Couch Mount can only be obtained from the Achievement “More Inventory Slots, Please II”. This Achievement is acquired after you collect all 17 Yo-kai weapons during the Collaboration Event Yo-kai Watch: Gather One, Gather All.

This Event first ran from July 26th to October 3rd in 2016. And there’s some good news and bad news here:

  • The bad news is that this mount is no longer obtainable in the game as of this writing.
  • The good news is that this Event has been re-run twice already: September 3rd to November 1st in 2017, and then from August 19th to December 8th in 2020.

This likely means that we’ll see it again sometime in the future, so don’t lose hope.

That weird but loveable couch could still be yours one day! Especially if Yoshi P has too much wine again with the Level 5 CEO, which infamously caused the third re-run.

Putting The Time Into Yo-kai Watch

In case this Event returns, let’s run down how to get your Couch.

The Event Questline is started by speaking with the Poor-heeled Youth (Ul’dah – Steps of Nald, X:9 Y:9). It requires Level 15, but that shouldn’t be difficult.

Really you’ll want access to every area in A Realm Reborn and Stormblood.

This is due to the fact that this Quest is a massive FATE Grind.

Once you complete the Quest, you’ll be rewarded with the Yo-kai Watch wrist accessory and the Yo-kai Medallium.

The Medallium is accessed from your Menu under Collection.

You must be wearing the Watch to obtain Yo-kai Medals and Legendary Yo-kai Medals. The Medals are traded in like this:

Your first Minion will cost you one Medal.

Every subsequent Minion (up to the 17th) will cost 3 Medals each.

Upon obtaining your 13th Minion, you’ll unlock the Achievement “You Must Needs Befriend Them All I”.

This gives you a very iconic Mount from the Yo-kai Watch show, separate from Jibanyan.

The Legendary Yo-kai Medals are rarer, and are used to acquire the Event Weapons.

There were originally thirteen, with four added in later Events.

You’ll need all of them to get your Jibanyan Couch.

Like with Minions, your first Weapon will cost you less than the subsequent ones. % Legendary Medals for Weapon one, and 10 for subsequent Weapons through the seventeenth.

Once you’ve gotten your thirteenth Weapon, you’ll unlock “More Inventory Space, Please I”. This rewards you with a slightly different Mount, the Whisper A-go-go, which glows in the dark.

And different FATEs offer different Medals (details listed below):

Legendary Medal FATE Locations
Jibanyan Central Shroud, Lower La Noscea, Central Thanalan
Komasan East Shroud, Western La Noscea, Eastern Thanalan
USApyon Outer La Noscea, Middle La Noscea, Western Thanalan
Whisper South Shroud, Upper La Noscea, Southern Thanalan
Shogunyan East Shroud, Lower La Noscea, Central Thanalan
Hovernyan South Shroud, Western La Noscea, Eastern Thanalan
Komajiro Central Thanalan, East Shroud, Western La Noscea
Noko Southern Thanalan, North Shroud, Outer La Noscea
Venoct Western Thanalan, Middle La Noscea, Central Shroud
Kyubi Western Thanalan, Central Shroud, Lower La Noscea
Robonyan F-type Southern Thanalan, Upper La Noscea, North Shroud
Blizzaria North Shroud, Outer La Noscea, Middle La Noscea
Manjimutt Eastern Thanalan, South Shroud, Upper La Noscea
Lord Enma The Fringes, The Ruby Sea, Yanixa, The Peaks, The Lochs, Azim Steppe
Lord Ananta Coerthas Western Highlands, Dravanian Forelands, Dravanian Hinterlands, Churning Mists, Sea of Clouds, Azys Lla
Zazel Coerthas Western Highlands, Dravanian Forelands, Dravanian Hinterlands, Churning Mists, Sea of Clouds, Azys Lla
Damona The Fringes, The Ruby Sea, Yanxia, The Peaks, The Lochs, Azim Steppe

This isn’t quite as daunting of a grind as it first appears.

With the addition of Limited Jobs like Blue Mage, you can demolish FATEs in seconds.

You can also double up on these grinds if you’re doing something like an old Relic. The ARR Relic Weapon has many steps that require FATEs, like Atmas or Light.

Either way, now you’ve got all the information needed to nab your cat couch when the Event returns!
