This is a level 50 quest that becomes available from Hugubert in Mor Dhona (X:22.0, Y:8.0) after completing the level 35 side quest “Braving New Depths”, and after the level 50 Main Scenario Quest “The Ultimate Weapon”.

This is an upscaled version of the optional level 35 dungeon with the same name. It features new enemies, loot, and a new storyline.

To unlock the Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard), you will first need to clear the normal level 35 version of the dungeon. The original Sunken Temple of Qarn is an optional dungeon that’s unlocked through a side quest from Nedrick Ironheart in Western Thanalan (X:12.0, Y:14.0) called “Braving New Depths”.

After clearing the dungeon, the next step is to progress your Main Scenario up to the level 50 quest “The Ultimate Weapon”.

Once you’re done with this, a new side quest will become available from Hugubert called “The Wrath of Qarn”.

Hugubert can be found in the Seventh Heaven in Revenant’s Toll, Mor Dhona (X:22.0, Y:8.0). Once you’ve accepted the appropriate quest from Hugubert, he will tell you that Amajina & Sons Mineral Concern has put out word that they are in need of an adventurer.

You’ll then be directed to Seserukka and his twin brother in Ul’dah. The twins can be found in the Miners’ Guild in the Steps of Thal (X:11.0, Y:14.2).

Seserukka and his twin brother Popokkuli will inform you that they need an adventurer such as yourself to mount a rescue mission. Their sister, Nenekko, was studying the ruins and is now stuck inside due to a group of reckless raiders setting off a trap.

At this point, head on over to the temple’s entrance in Southern Thanalan and speak with Bibimu at (X:25.1, Y:12.5). Bibimu will be relieved that someone familiar with the Sunken Temple was sent out to help Nenekko, but warns you that much has changed inside since the last time you delved into the ruins.

The Sunken Temple of Qarn will become accessible from the Duty Finder after speaking with Bibimu.

The loot obtained from the Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard) is pretty standard for a level 50 dungeon.

You’ll find gear, tomestones, and other items you’ll normally find in a level 50 4-man instance.

Equipment

Like most other dungeons in the game, you’ll see treasure coffers drop after every boss fight. These coffers will contain mostly Hero’s accessories that have an item level of 90.

Antique Items

Another type of item you’ll find in the Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard) is antique pieces of equipment. These aren’t actual items you can equip, but are exchanged for level 50 artifact gear.

Take note that these are the same items you get from the coffer rewarded to you for completing a level 50 job quest. This only serves as a way to obtain extra copies of your artifact gear in case you accidentally lose any.

The antique items can be exchanged with Kakalan in Mor Dhona (X:22.3, Y:5.6).

Other Loot Items

The coffer that spawns after defeating the final boss of the dungeon has a chance of dropping a couple of unique items.

The first item is the “Viceregent to the Warden” 3-star Triple Triad card. The only other way you can obtain this card is from defeating Yayake in Triple Triad.

Yayake can be found in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:7.0, Y:12.0).

The other unique item is the Mummy’s Little Mummy minion. This item can be bought and sold on the Market Board.
