Detailed Unlocking Walkthrough

The East Shroud

When you’ve finished the level 50 Main Scenario Quest “On the Properties of Primals”, a new quest named “The King Lives” will become available from Urianger in the Waking Sands (X:6.0, Y:4.9).

Travel to Western Thanalan to accept this quest and learn of new developments on the threat of Primals.

Urianger informs the Warrior of Light that the Mogglesguard have once again summoned a primal in the image of Good King Moggle Mog XII. Given the amount of time that has passed since the moogles last summoned their king, your fellow Scion suspects that the Ascians have a hand in the reemergence of this primal.

You’re then instructed to head on over to the Adder’s Nest to offer your aid to the Order of the Twin Adder in ridding the Twelveswood of this threat.

Once you get to the Twin Adder headquarters in New Gridania, speak with Vorsaile Heuloix at (X:9.7. Y:11.1).

The Warrior of Light learns from the Commander that after the previous incarnation of the Moogle King was defeated, Kuplo Kopp tried to convince the Mogglesguard of the negative effects of summoning.

This unfortunately had the opposite effect, and led the moogle sentries to try and summon their king once more.

Vorsaile will then direct you to the ward that shields the monarch’s domain where Kuplo Kopp and a member of the Elder Seedseer’s personal guard await. They can be found in the Bramble Patch in East Shroud (X:15.1, Y:20.7).

Speak to Kuplo Kopp and he will express relief in seeing that you’ve agreed to help him and the Order of the Twin Adder.

He will then get into more detail about his encounter with Mogglesguard.

Kuplo Kopp reveals that the moogles are afraid of how they might be affected by the current events taking place around the Twelveswood. And though he’s also afraid of the situation the moogles face, Kuplo does not believe that summoning a primal is the answer.

After wishing you luck in the upcoming battle, Kuplo Kopp tells you he has made a tear in the ward to the moogle king’s domain.

Thornmarch (Extreme) will become available in the Duty Finder after the cutscene ends.

Loot From Thornmarch (Extreme)

Thornmarch Extreme Coffer / Final Fantasy XIV
Thornmarch Extreme Coffer

Like other Extreme trials, Thornmarch (Extreme) will spawn a treasure coffer after defeating the boss.

Party members can cast lots on the contents of the coffer to determine who gets what.

Here’s what you can find inside the treasure coffer from Thornmarch (Extreme):

Item Type Description
Ribbon of Fending Necklace Item level 100 accessory for Paladin, Dark Knight, Warrior, or Gunbreaker
Ribbon of Slaying Necklace Item level 100 accessory for Dragoon, Monk, Samurai, or Reaper
Ribbon of Aiming Necklace Item level 100 accessory for Bard, Ninja, Machinist, or Dancer

The ribbon accessories that drop from the treasure coffer can be desynthesized by weavers for more crafting materials. One of the possible components you can obtain from this is the Kingly Whisker.

Kingly Whiskers are used to craft Moggle Mog weapons.

These are upgraded versions of the weapons you can obtain from the Hard version of Thornmarch.

Moggle Mog weapons have an item level of 95 and have a cool glow effect when drawn. Though the stats on these weapons are severely outdated, they may still sell for a decent amount on the Market Boards, as they’re still quite popular glam pieces.

Other Loot

King Mog Card / Final Fantasy XIV

Besides the items in the treasure coffer, you also have a chance to obtain the Good King Moggle Mog XII card for your Triple Triad collection after defeating the trial.

It will go directly into your inventory if it drops.
