Top 15 Best Servants To Summon in Fate/Grand Order in 2022

Did you get who you wanted this year? We know that you’d been saving for Summer Musashi and Arjuna Alter, but that surprise King Hassan banner was just a little too tempting, wasn’t it?

Still, no rest for the wicked!

Next year is shaping up to be just as impactful in terms of servant quality – and we’re here to make sure your Saint Quartz is not squandered.

Thanks to the NA schedule lagging two years behind the JP client, we can accrue the Foresight EX ability to know exactly what’s coming.

So without further ado, these are best servants you should be saving for in 2022!

The first few entries will stick to reruns, but then it’s all-new servants from there on out!

Disclaimer: This list will focus on particular servants instead of specific banners. Some banners have increased worth due to the multiple, powerful, and often limited servants featured. Also, be sure to summon on both GSSRs if you can afford to do so!

15. Ereshkigal (Lancer) [Rerun]

Ereshkigal (Lancer) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Ereshkigal is coming back for a download campaign – and this could be one of your final chances to grab the easily embarrassed lord of the underworld.

Eresh has a great NP, skills that buff herself and her team, and adorable My Room lines.

Eresh isn’t the greatest lancer… but as a Rin-face, fans of Tohsaka should try and pick up at least one copy.

14. Meltryllis (Alter Ego) [Rerun]

Meltryllis (Alter Ego) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Melt will be receiving a strengthening at some point. And when she does, her overall NP damage is kicked into overdrive.

This single buff turns Melt into an absolutely destructive single-target nuker, allowing her to shred through bosses and break bar challenge quests with ease.

Melt also receives bonus points due to her voice actress, Saori Hayami, being one of our personal favorites (also voicing characters such as Shinobu Kocho from Kimetsu no Yaiba and Shinoa from Owari no Seraph).

13. Leonardo Da Vinci Lily (Rider) [Rerun]

Leonardo Da Vinci Lily (Rider) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Da Vinci Lily is coming back with next year’s anniversary on an alternating schedule with 2022’s anniversary servant (more on that later…)

Da Vinci Lily is a great farming rider capable of dishing out huge amounts of damage with the right support (foreshadowing…).

Da Vinci Lily can three-turn farm most nodes so long as she is partnered with a particular servant (this is getting ridiculous…)

12. Kama (Assassin) [Rerun]

Kama (Assassin) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Kama will be returning this year in her Assassin form during the Tokugawa Kaiten Meikyū – Ōoku rerun event.

Kama is a single-target Assassin capable of unleashing massive damage onto her victims.

Widely considered to be the best single-target Assassin in the game, you can’t afford to miss out on grabbing a copy of her.

11. Summer Musashi Miyamoto (Berserker) [Rerun]

Summer Musashi Miyamoto (Berserker) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Similar to Da Vinci Lily Rider, once a certain 2022 unit releases, Musashi skyrockets to the tippy-top of high tier when it comes to three-turn looping.

Musashi, second only to Space Ishtar, is the premiere Arts looper of the new meta.

Her Berserker class allows her to inflict class advantage damage on all nodes she comes up against as well (excluding foreigners but they are rarely grouped in farming nodes).

10. Ashiya Douman (Alter Ego)

Ashiya Douman (Alter Ego) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Douman as a servant is not anything special, thus he’ll reside near the bottom of the list of new servants in 2022.

Additionally, he can spook your rolls because after his rate up, he will be added into the general pool of permanent servants.

However, for a waifu collecting simulator, good husbandos are hard to come by.

Those looking to expand the Chaldea with another great husbando should not count Douman out too easily.

9. Vritra (Lancer)

Vritra (Lancer) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Vritra is another great unit and one with an amazing design.

She comes to us during Christmas as the first-ever Arts AOE lancer – and is capable of dishing out great damage.

Vritra will, however, be added into the general pool & can spook your rolls at any time. So keep that in mind before you summon on her banner.

8. Dioscuri (Saber)

Dioscuri (Saber) Fate/Grand Order sprite

The Dioscuri twins are a great pair of Sabers that are capable of dishing out heavy damage.

Castor and Pollux have grown into fan favorites over the years, as countless ships of the Master with Pollux always result in Castor breaking things up out of jealousy.

Dioscuri, however, will also be added into the general pool after their banner ends – meaning they could spook you at any time.

If you truly connect with the servant do not let us deter you from spending on their banner. Just know that they could pop up at any time during your future summons.

7. Summer Abigail (Foreigner)

Summer Abigail (Foreigner) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Summer Abigail is a Foreigner. And that alone justifies summoning for her.

Foreigners are hard to come by – and Summer Abby is a great pickup for those lacking in servants for this elusive class.

Summer Abby has a great design and one that inverses her original Foreigner design.

Where originally, this cute child transforms into a Lovecraftian monster, this Abby transforms from Cthulu’s Imouto into a human being.

The main reason Summer Abby is so popular is because of how downright adorable she is!

If your heart doesn’t melt after listening to her pancake song then you have no soul.

6. Himiko (Ruler)

Himiko (Ruler) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Himiko is caught between wanting to be a DPS and wanting to be a support.

Do you know the old saying; “jack of all trades, master of none”?

Well Himiko embodies this perfectly, as she fails to perform her job adequately enough to justify using a real support or a real DPS.

Himiko does, however, possess the unique ability to allow her partners to overcharge their NPs.

This makes her great for challenge quests allowing for support Casters (usually only kept at NP1) to reach their full potential!

5. Summer Kiara (Moon Cancer)

Summer Kiara (Moon Cancer) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Summer Kiara is great for a number of reasons.

Firstly, Summer Kiara is a new addition to the (at present before Pretender is released) rarest class in the game (that being Moon Cancer).

Not only that, but she’s arguably the strongest Moon Cancer in the game (trouncing both Jinako and BB in terms of damage).

Summer Kiara, when summoned, also has a sparkly new animation where her card turns black before shifting into a unique design.

She’s worth summoning for that animation alone.

But regardless, Kiara can three turn Arts loop with the right supporting servants and CEs. So don’t feel bad about spending a little on her banner.

4. Voyager (Foreigner)

Voyager (Foreigner) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Voyager will be released as part of a special collaboration between Fate/Grand Order and Fate/Requiem.

And Voyager is a very powerful Foreigner – but that isn’t exactly what lands him on this list.

Collaborations are very rare and very infrequent in the world of FGO.

We have already seen the length of time between reruns with characters like Asagami Fujino.

There’s no telling when this character may see their next rate up, so be sure to grab a copy while you can.

3. Van Gogh (Foreigner)

Van Gogh (Foreigner) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Van Gogh is a great pickup for those looking to add extra support to their team.

With skills that not only increase the attack of your team but decrease the defense of the enemy, Van Gogh can maximize the potential of your damage dealers.

And that’s not all – because with the ability guts in her toolkit, Van Gogh can become increasingly difficult to take down.

Definitely a great unit, and one that you should be on the lookout for in 2022.

2. Yang Guifei (Foreigner)

Yang Guifei (Foreigner) Fate/Grand Order sprite

Hao, hao!

Yang Guifei is the first Foreigner class servant we’ve received in a very long time.

Her setup requires some workaround to reach its full potential. But she is a solid single-target Arts DPS.

Her voice lines, however, catapult her into the must-summon territory.

Pick up a copy and you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about.

1. Artoria Pendragon (Caster)

Artoria Pendragon (Caster) Fate/Grand Order sprite

You all saw this one coming.

But the overall best servant to summon (and the best unit you can feel safe investing your Saint Quartz into) is Castoria.

Castoria, like Skadi before her, is the catalyst that sparked a revolution in the FGO metagame.

She singlehandedly lifts arguably mid-tier servants into the spotlight, allowing them to three-turn farm as the S-tier servant they had always dreamed of being.

It was that Space Ishtar could three-turn Skadi loop, but paled in comparison to Dantes.

Now Space Ishtar is considered the best farmer in the game!

Summer Musashi needed too much support to be viable. Without Paracelsus, Tamamo with her bond CE, and Nero Bride, she just couldn’t do it.

Now Musashi can rip through almost every enemy with ease.

Oberon will breathe fresh new life into the Buster meta, and Castoria will be cluttering your support list for a long time.

If you can only get one servant in 2022, make it Castoria.
