Genshin Impact: Is Dragon’s Bane Good? (Best Characters)

Dragon’s Bane is a great weapon. It works on a lot of characters, and it’s very often one of their best options. Its abundance of EM makes it great for characters that heavily rely on elemental reactions. Plus Dragon’s Bane’s passive also aligns really well with all the current characters that use it.

For instance, Melt Rosaria always attacks opponents affected by Pyro to trigger a Melt reaction – so she benefits from the passive.

Similarly, both Xiangling and Hu Tao generally attack opponents affected by Hydro.

At level 90 Refinement Rank 1 (R1), it has a Base ATK of 454 and 221 Elemental Mastery (EM) secondary stat. Its passive increases the wielder’s damage dealt against opponents affected by Hydro or Pyro by 20%.

Dragon’s Bane is an overall well-made weapon that does its job well. And it only gets better with refinements.

• Good means that Dragon’s Bane works on the character, but they have better, more accessible options – namely, The Catch R5.
• Not recommended means that the character has significantly better weapon options or simply doesn’t benefit from Dragon’s Bane.

Is Dragon’s Bane Good for Raiden?

Yes, but only in a Hyperbloom Raiden team. It’s not good for her anywhere else.

This is simply because Raiden acts as the Hyperbloom trigger in that team, so the damage dealt by Hyperbloom will scale off her Elemental Mastery – not ATK, CRIT, or elemental damage bonus.

So it’s just optimal to equip her with an Elemental Mastery weapon, and Dragon’s Bane is the best option available.

However, Dragon’s Bane is never recommended for Raiden outside Hyperbloom teams.

It’s always better to build her with the regular ATK/Energy Recharge, Electro damage bonus, and CRIT combo in other teams – not EM.
