Sacrificial Fragments vs. Wandering Evenstar (Genshin Impact)

Sacrificial Fragments is a standard 4-star weapon, while Wandering Evenstar is a limited 4-star weapon. They’re especially good for catalyst users that benefit from Elemental Mastery (EM). But one can be situationally better than the other – and it’s very often Sacrificial Fragments.

This is simply because it’s much easier to get Sacrificial refinements since it’s a standard weapon. You can get it from every gacha banner. While Evenstar is a limited weapon, so you can only get it from the weapon banner.

Plus Evenstar only becomes better than Sacrificial with refinements. So the better weapon is generally the one with higher refinements.

Below is a quick table to compare these weapons.

They have the following stats and passives at Level 90 Refinement Rank 1:

Sacrificial Fragments Wandering Evenstar
Base ATK 454 510
Secondary Stat 221 Elemental Mastery 165 Elemental Mastery
Passive After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance of ending its own cooldown.

This can only occur once every 30s.
The following effects will trigger every 10s:

  • The wielder gains 24% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12s.
  • Nearby party members gain 30% of this buff for the same duration.

Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. These effects will still trigger even when the character is off-field.

And here’s a more detailed comparison between the two weapons for every notable unit.

For Sucrose

The better weapon depends on Sucrose’s role on the team – but they’re very interchangeable. Here’s a deeper comparison between the two.

Sacrificial Fragments Wandering Evenstar
  • Better when she’s mostly on-field – such as Taser, Soup, Bloom, and Hyperbloom teams
  • Extra skill cast for more personal damage, crowd control, particle generation, EM share, and EM buff uptime
  • Better when she’s mostly off-field – such as Vaporize, Freeze, and Mono Electro teams
  • Better in teams that don’t benefit from her EM share like Freeze teams
  • Teamwide ATK buff
  • Still, it’s generally recommended to go with Sacrificial Fragments – especially if it has more refinements.

    For Nahida

Sacrificial and Evenstar are both really good weapons on Nahida.

Wandering Evenstar best excels with teammates that benefit from ATK. At Refinement Rank 5, it also becomes her best 4-star weapon as a support.

However, Evenstar is only better than Sacrificial at Refinement Ranks 3-5.

This is because Sacrificial is a great general weapon for additional EM and personal damage. But the additional skill cast doesn’t generate extra particles since she doesn’t generate particles upon cast.
