(Learn more).Staying faithful to the Greek mythology canon, the Olympian gods in Hades harbor a closeted hatred for one another. At the same time, they also somehow still love one another. That’s pretty relatable as far as family goes.
That doesn’t mean they won’t try to kill you out of spite if you favor one Olympian over another. Envy seems to run in the family, especially when it comes to the Boons you pick.
From time to time, however, some of these Olympians can set aside their differences at the dinner table. This leads to some amazing power collaborations called Duo Boons.
Sure enough, these Duo Boons are some of the most powerful Boons in Hades. The only issue is that they occur rarely as opportunities (if at all). You’ll have to be picky whenever two or more of them present themselves.
At the same time, you’ll also want to increase your chances of obtaining them.
So in the spirit of hitting two birds with one stone, here’s a selection of Hades’ most powerful Duo Boons along with how to obtain them.
10. Cold Fusion (Zeus/Demeter)
Being among the oldest gods in the Olympian pantheon, Zeus and Demeter are no doubt two of the mightiest in the family.
Zeus in Hades is famed for his “Jolted” attack trigger. This will punish enemies painfully when they attack you.
The limited part about that Boon is that it’s only good for one enemy attack. Afterward, it expires.
Demeter, however, loves to preserve things in her cold embrace. She’ll thus give Zeus’ Jolt a ten-second timer so that it will keep punishing enemies that attack.
Requirements (you need at least one from each of the two gods, the same goes for all other Duo Boons):
Zeus Boon(s) | Demeter Boon(s) |
---|---|
Static Discharge |
Frost Strike Frost Flourish Mistral Dash Demeter’s Aid |
9. Blizzard Shot (Poseidon/Demeter)
Poseidon can turn your Cast into a torpedo. But it’s somewhat lackluster compared to the other Olympians’ Cast Boon offerings.
That’s why Demeter would like to step in again and help her brother with his impulsiveness. With Blizzard Shot, she can turn Poseidon’s lackluster Cast Boon into a mobile turret that keeps firing at enemies.
In turn, your Cast becomes a one-and-done kill button.
Requirements:
Poseidon Boon(s) | Demeter Boon(s) |
---|---|
Flood Shot |
Frost Strike Frost Flourish Mistral Dash Demeter’s Aid |
8. Scintillating Feast (Dionysus/Zeus)
Apart from being a drunk lecher, Dionysus sometimes specializes in slowly poisoning your enemies with liquor.
His Trippy Shot fires a Festive Fog, or basically a poison mist made from the finest grapes in Greece.
Zeus – impatient as he is, doesn’t want to wait for Dionysus’ poison to do all the work at a leisurely pace. So he’ll augment Trippy Shot with his own lightning attacks. Not only would the targets become afflicted with alcohol poisoning, but they’ll also get zapped by electricity.
The next time they wake up from a hangover, they’ll do so in the after-afterlife.
Requirements (at least one from both gods):
Dionysus Boon(s) | Zeus Boon(s) |
---|---|
Trippy Shot |
Lightning Strike Thunder Flourish Thunder Dash Zeus’ Aid |
7. Sea Storm (Poseidon/Zeus)
They’re two of the most impetuous and most passionate among male Olympians. So a Poseidon-and-Zeus combo is bound to be audacious. These two troublemakers can cook you up a storm.
Zeus makes it so that Poseidon’s knock-away effects will also fork out some lightning.
The best part is that it also works with non-Boon knock-away effects.
That means there’s no pressure to use uncle Poseidon’s water attacks, though that will make things easier.
Requirements:
Poseidon Boon(s) | Zeus Boon(s) |
---|---|
Tempest Strike Tempest Flourish Flood Shot Flood Flare Poseidon’s Aid |
Lightning Strike Thunder Flourish Electric Shot Thunder Flare Thunder Dash Zeus’ Aid |
6. Merciful End (Ares/Athena)
This Duo Boon is all about declaring war on your Underworld enemies, unleashing your full might, and then offering them to just off themselves before you strike the killing blow.
Ares and Athena, after all, have some overlaps in their domains and tenets. Taking advantage of Athena’s Deflect will then be rewarded more handsomely if Ares steps in to help.
In fact with this Boon, you probably don’t even need to attack enemies directly anymore.
Requirements:
Ares Boon(s) | Athena Boon(s) |
---|---|
Curse of Agony Curse of Pain |
Divine Strike Divine Flourish |
5. Deadly Reversal (Artemis/Athena)
These two young maidens of Olympus look like they get along well enough as BFFs. That’s reflected well with their Duo Boon. It provides a handy reprisal for you to incorporate into your tactics.
Deadly Reversal also centers around Athena’s Deflect capabilities. Triggering or performing that under this Duo Boon’s effect results in a rather astronomical damage increase.
That damage does depend on which Artemis boons you picked – but she mostly focuses on increasing damage anyway.
Requirements:
Artemis Boon(s) | Athena Boon(s) |
---|---|
Deadly Strike Deadly Flourish True Shot Hunter’s Flare Artemis’ Aid |
Divine Strike Divine Flourish |
4. Lightning Rod (Artemis/Zeus)
Even Artemis and Zeus can set aside their contrasting demeanors, and thank goodness for that. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been blessed with this Duo Boon. It’s a certified boss-killer and an effortless room-clearing tactic.
Lightning Rod makes your dislodged Cast Bloodstones strike nearby enemies with lightning. You can even just sit back and relax while the Bloodstones do all the work.
Pair it with some Jolt Boons and you never have to use your weapon’s Attack or Special again.
Requirements:
Artemis Boon(s) | Zeus Boon(s) |
---|---|
Deadly Strike Deadly Flourish True Shot Hunter’s Flare Hunter Dash Artemis’ Aid |
Lightning Strike Thunder Flourish Thunder Dash Thunder Flare Electric Shot Zeus’ Aid |
3. Mirage Shot (Artemis/Poseidon)
When it comes to taking out priority or annoying targets, Mirage Shot excels all too well. It’s a collaborative gift from Artemis and Poseidon. It also enhances your Cast.
Mirage Shot adds a second projectile to the Cast. And while the reduced damage looks discouraging, that won’t matter much if the Cast’s projectile is already enhanced by Artemis’ Boon.
Because that would mean your Cast has a chance to deal critical damage. Six of those Cast projectiles (or even ten) will melt a target’s HP bar quickly.
Requirements:
Artemis Boon(s) | Poseidon Boon(s) |
---|---|
Deadly Strike Deadly Flourish True Shot Hunter’s Flare Artemis’ Aid |
Tempest Strike Tempest Flourish Flood Shot Flood Flare Tidal Dash Poseidons’ Aid |
2. Heart Rend (Aphrodite/Artemis)
Heart Rend provides great synergy for Boons coming from both Aphrodite and Artemis. Still, it will take quite a bit of effort and a more dedicated setup from both deities.
You’ll need a reliable source of Weak. After that, the majority of the effort comes from picking Artemis’ critical chance Boons. Once that’s done, the payoff is worth it.
The enemies will not only deal considerably less damage, but they also take a lot more damage.
This is offense and defense rolled into one lethal perk.
Requirements:
Aphrodite Boon(s) | Artemis Boon(s) |
---|---|
Heartbreak Strike Heartbreak Flourish Crush Shot Passion Dash |
Deadly Strike Deadly Flourish True Shot Hunter’s Flare |
1. Hunting Blades (Ares/Artemis)
Hunting Blades is yet another Cast modification. But this one’s deadlier than most. It essentially lets you unleash a bloodthirsty and sentient sawblade that seeks out its own victims.
This is quite possibly the highest-damage Cast Boon in the game. That’s the case as long as the target doesn’t move outside the Hunting Blades’ radius. Note that you can unleash three of these all at once for triple the damage.
If Hades himself didn’t have invulnerability phases, then these Hunting Blades would have diced him out of existence in the first thirty seconds of the final boss fight.
Requirements:
Ares Boon(s) | Artemis Boon(s) |
---|---|
Slicing Shot |
Deadly Strike Deadly Flourish Hunter Dash Artemis’ Aid |
