KH1.5: How To Get Fire, Fira, & Firaga

Fire is obtained after defeating the Guard Armor in Traverse Town. This is a required story boss fight, so you can’t miss it.

Fira is obtained after defeating Genie Jafar in Agrabah. Once again, this is a mandatory boss, so you cannot miss it.

Firaga is given to Sora after he locks the last keyhole. As is the case with all fire spells, it is unmissable and part of story progression.

Donald also learns each Fire spell at the same time that Sora does.

Note: All damage formulas reflect the Final Mix version of the game

All Fire spells cost one MP.

Fire is obtained right after meeting Donald and Goofy and defeating the Guard Armor in Traverse Town.

Its damage is determined by the following formula:

Sora’s Max MP + 20 = spell power

Fire has a slight homing and a fast cast, which makes it a great choice when going up against flying enemies.

Fira is obtained after defeating Genie Jafar, who is the last boss in Agrabah.

Its damage uses a similar formula:

Sora’s Max MP + 28 = spell power

Fira is a bigger ball of flame and has better homing than Fire.

Firaga is given to Sora by the Princesses of Heart after locking up the final world. This is close to the end of the game.

Its damage formula is as follows:

Sora’s Max MP + 36 = spell power

The biggest Fire spell is a big explosion that deals great fire damage to one enemy. Still super useful against flying foes and can one-shot anything weak to heat.

Ultimately it depends on both what you’re fighting and how your Sora is built.

Taking down any of the non-fire flying enemies is made a lot easier using the spell, but if you’re not careful you can easily blast away all your MP.

If your Sora leans more towards magic and has the power and MP, then Fire and its friends will be your bread and butter.

If you’re more a physical fighter than I’d suggest keeping Fire on your shortcut bar and having it around just to swat the occasional fly that might get under your skin.
