It’s no secret that Ahri is Riot’s cash cow, or should I say fund fox, and she basically gets a new skin every six months or so.

She already has two K/DA skins and two legendary skins. But we all know there’s more to come.

So which one should you choose? That’s what I’ll try answering here by digging into her entire skin line-up.

This is going to be a tough one because they’re all pretty great.

14. Dynasty Ahri

Released: December 14th, 2011
Price: 975 RP

The thing with Ahri’s skins is that really, they’re all good.

So even though I’m placing this one in last place, I can’t really say that I dislike it all that much – but rather I have some minor nitpicks.

First off, her theme here seems a bit odd and outdone.

Her clothes have a very schoolgirl vibe, which there’s a separate skin for already. And her tails/splash art have a very mystical yokai vibe, which also there’s a separate skin for.

Plus this skin is slightly overpriced – since you only really get some petal particles on your abilities and a rather underwhelming new dance emote.

It really isn’t that bad, and her fox ears are adorable. But there are stronger choices in her line-up.

13. Midnight Ahri

Released: December 14th, 2011
Price: 750 RP

Although Midnight Ahri only comes with a new character model, it has held up extremely well over the years.

Everything is a different shade of blue, and your new outfit makes you look like either royalty or an assassin. Maybe even a royal assassin.

Plus, since her entire character model is blue now, the base animations and particles actually fit in perfectly and make the design pop a bit more.

Even the splash art is great.

That being said, this skin isn’t especially ambitious. More specifically, these are all just minor changes when looking at the entire picture – so it has to stay at the low end of the tier list.

12. Academy Ahri

Released: August 26th, 2015
Price: 750 RP

Academy Ahri has two distinct selling points.

First off, you’re in a school girl outfit. And let’s face it, that’s enough for a lot of people.

Secondly, this skin has the foxiest tail design in Ahri’s entire lineup. Which is slightly odd if you ask me.

Combine these two selling points together and you get a rather interesting character model that’s sure to grab quite a bit of attention.

That being said, it’s only a character model change – and unlike the previous skin, the base animations and particles here don’t make a lick of sense with this aesthetic.

So we have an extremely unique character model, out of place animations, and a rather good quality design overall.

11. Challenger Ahri

Released: January 15th, 2015
Price: 975 RP

Challenger Ahri is quite a pain to describe, so I’m going to settle for “Ahri as a mid-tier villain from the future”.

You get some cool black and red armor, a head piece that makes your hair look like a helmet, and blood-red tails that are ever slightly so ominous.

You also get some really nice particles around your orb that make it feel evil, and a lot more powerful.

Lastly, you get a new backing animation that isn’t as impressive as any of the higher-up skins… but it definitely beats the base recall animation.

I’d say this is a pretty decent skin with some nice particles and a cool character model, with no real flaws, but a lack of a wow factor.

10. Foxfire Ahri

Released: July 11th, 2012
Price: 975 RP

Sometimes the simplest ideas can just lead to some pretty amazing results.

Someone just went “Ahri, but on fire” and it ended up being quite the little gem.

The design for Ahri’s tails just looks amazing. And the fact this skin even has fire particles at all times makes it look that much more convincing.

Plus her abilities have all received a similar treatment.

Even her E has a little fire trail, which I think is a really nice detail, especially if you are blasting “heart’s on fire” in the background.

So this is just a really well-made skin that’s only so low on the tier list because the rest of her catalogue is somehow even more impressive.

9. Popstar Ahri

Released: November 25th, 2013
Price: 975 RP

Popstar Ahri walked so that the K/DA skins could run.

But it can still hold its own even today.

The character model here is just fabulous, with her pink tails looking like the softest material on the planet, and her outfit straight-up killing the game.

She also gets some music note particles on her abilities, a new recall animation, and even a new dance animation.

All of that being said, it doesn’t have the same amount of detail as a modern music-based skin – and only her backing animation provides some killer tunes, but even that is rather short-lived since the applause sound effect lasts a bit too long.

Overall, this skin is iconic in its own way. And makes it for an excellent choice if you don’t want the enormous particle dump of K/DA, but still want to live your Ahri pop icon dreams.

8. Star Guardian Ahri

Released: September 6th, 2017
Price: 1820 RP

Being that this is a legendary skin, you already know you’re in for quite a ride.

You get a new auto-attack animation, a homeguard animation, new emotes, a new death animation, a new voice, and so much more.

That being said, not all of the new features are S-tier if you ask me.

Sure, the new ability particles are all excellent (especially the little transformation after you have ulted). But her auto-attacks feel slightly clunky.

And yes, her new emotes are as anime/mean girls as you can get. But I’d rather not get depressed every time I died because god knows it happens a lot.

Star Guardian Ahri definitely is a good skin. And I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a lot of people’s favorite.

But there are a few too many nitpicks for it to be S-class in my book, especially taking its price into consideration.

7. K/DA Ahri

Released: November 3rd, 2018
Price: 1350 RP

Both of Ahri’s K/DA skins are top tier. And I would honestly say that they’re about the same level of quality.

K/DA Ahri is definitely more appealing to the everyday Ahri player who might not care about the musical background that much, while All Out is for diehard fans.

And what does this one offer? Well K/DA Ahri has an amazing character model with the coolest tail design I have ever seen. Plus all her new particles are just cool by themselves, and they don’t push the music theme too hard.

Her backing animation is an exception though. It’s a banger.

That being said, if you’re already going for a K/DA skin, it only makes sense to go for the one that really hammers that point home.

6. K/DA ALL OUT Ahri

Released: October 29th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Now this skin has all of the K/DA goodness a fan could want out of an Ahri skin.

Not only does her backing animation and dance emote feature some killer tunes, but even her ult starts playing some theme music while you still have charges up.

I mean, you honestly can’t ask for more than that.

Plus, although I do slightly prefer the original, the character model here is brilliant.

And the new ability particles are as amazing as ever, with very unique sound effects for each ability as well.

For a 1350 RP skin, you’re getting a lot in return.

5. Arcana Ahri

Released: April 14th, 2022
Price: 1350 RP

The Arcana skin line always seems to produce pretty decent skins.

The rune portals fit almost any mage and the tarot-like backing animations will never not be cool. In Ahri’s case, both of those points hold true.

On top of that, the character model is just stunning – as it really makes you feel a lot more mystical.

The chroma selection is also rather decent (especially the Obsidian chroma), and the sound effects do what they’re supposed to.

As you can see, Arcane Ahri does everything that it’s supposed to do pretty well – but it’s missing the awe factor. So it only felt right to place it here.

Also, on a side note: why do the in-game tails look so stiff?

The splash art makes you think they’re going to be fluffy (as is the norm) but the in-game model just doesn’t follow through.

4. Arcade Ahri

Released: August 24th, 2016
Price: 1350 RP

Although it’s not the most popular out of the Arcade skin line, I still think that Arcade Ahri lives up to the hype.

The character model is pretty unique, with the whole “changing colors” being a persona stand-out feature for me. And the new particles/sound effects are about what you would expect.

All the abilities are 8-bit, and there are enough arcade sound effects to nostalgia blast you back into the 90s.

Even animations as minute as your bonus movement speed has a separate little animation, which really brings the skin into life.

I also found this one really easy to play with, as the sound effects are pretty distinct. But I will say that visually there’s some jank here and there.

3. Coven Ahri

Released: August 12th, 2021
Price: 1350 RP

Being one of the newest Ahri designs to join the Rift, this skin has some pretty insane features.

The character model makes you look like the most evil sorceress that has ever lived, which is quite the unique look for Ahri. And her abilities definitely carry that vibe further.

And the fact that her Q now has a mini summoning circle around her hands adds so much badass energy.

Also the black mist particles on her ult are equally as impressive. She even gets a rather ominous voice filter to really package the whole thing up.

All of that being said, her E was a huge waste of potential.

I’m guessing that Riot wanted to maintain visual clarity with her kit, but the standard pink heart just looks ridiculous with this skin – which is why I have to nerf its ranking slightly.

2. Elderwood Ahri

Released: August 29th, 2019
Price: 1350 RP

Elderwood Ahri takes what Dynasty Ahri attempted, and perfects it.

Being a magical creature of the forest fits right in with Ahri’s vibe. And that splash art alone is enough to make me drop 1350 RP into Riot’s pocket.

The character model looks equally as fantastic, with clothes made out of flowers, and even horns on her head for some added intrigue.

Her ability animations are all centered around flowers and flower petals, making her truly feel like the guardian of the forest. And her backing animation is some classic fairy mischief.

All in all, this is an amazing skin that fits right in with everything Ahri is about.

1. Spirit Blossom Ahri

Released: August 6th, 2020
Price: 1820 RP

Placing a legendary skin up top might seem cliché, but this one definitely deserves it.

Spirit Blossom Ahri feels like it was ripped straight out of a Ghibli film – and that’s the highest compliment a skin like this can get.

The character model is rather simple but beautiful, and it allows for her new particles and animations to pop out more.

Your new attack animation is very smooth, so easier CSing. Plus your ability particles are crisp and very easy to follow, which means easier skillshots.

And a bunch of your old animation have been switched out & transformed you into some sort of yokai fox – extremely unique. Like seriously, there are few things as satisfying as running around with homeguards as a little white fox, only to then transform and kill some poor ADC.

And the best part is that it isn’t even your only transformation! You also have an in-between mode for when you ult.

This skin really promises you the stars, and it delivers.
