Elderwood skins let you indulge in your love for all things fantasy, allowing you to play as forest spirits, fairies, witches, and even evil mushroom kings.

Many of these skins look like they came straight out of a Ghibli movie, while others allow champions to be true to their inner selves (and lore).

So you better wrap up warm and get seated around the campfire; we’ve ranked all of the Elderwood skins based on their character model designs, animations, and splash arts.

13. Dryad Soraka

Released: June 3rd, 2010
Price: 520 RP

Unfortunately, the OG skin of the Elderwood line does show its age.

You’re essentially paying 520 RP for a green chroma.

There’s genuinely no other differences between the base model and this skin – the weapon design, outfit, and hairstyle all look the same.

You also won’t be poking out enemies with new particle effects.

At least the splash art is kind of cute.

12. Emerald Taric

Released: November 20th, 2009
Price: 520 RP

This skin gives Taric an elven look, with an emerald circlet, forest-themed armor, and Legolas-inspired hair.

While it definitely suits him, the skin does unfortunately suffer from the same problem as Dryad Soraka: there’s just too much green.

I wouldn’t mind the green if it was just the outfit, but even the attack animations are all green (RIP visual clarity).

You don’t get a “dazzling” recall either.

11. Elderwood Hecarim

Released: November 25th, 2015
Price: 1350 RP

The splash art makes this skin look legendary tier, with a captivating character design, extravagant weapon, and badass pose.

Unfortunately, the in-game design is, well… the opposite of captivating.

The armor is dull, the weapon is underwhelming, and the overall green glow effect just leaves Hecarim looking like he came straight out of a swamp (or a bucket of Singed’s poison).

With that said, the sound effects do really immerse you in the nature theme, and the ultimate animation is pretty awesome.

10. Elderwood LeBlanc

Released: March 10th, 2016
Price: 1350 RP

While this skin does suit LeBlanc’s witchy and magical personality, the execution of it is pretty mediocre.

Nothing really stands out and the color choices are questionable.

But I am a big fan of the weapon design and the animations are totally magical.

The fairy wings also add some extra depth to the skin, and actually honor who LeBlanc is in her lore.

After all, fairies are all about mischief and LeBlanc herself is “The Deceiver!”

9. Elderwood Bard

Released: March 12th, 2015
Price: 975 RP

Elderwood Bard is by far the best budget-friendly Elderwood skin out there.

For 975 RP, you get a snazzy, druid-inspired character model, a unique recall, and smooth particle effects.

Plus, the meeps are downright adorable, and animations are clean and put you in a whimsical mood.

Sadly, I do find the ultimate underwhelming.

Considering how gamechanging Bard’s ult can be, I would have appreciated a bit more flashiness and “oomph” in the design.

8. Elderwood Ahri

Released: August 29th, 2019
Price: 1350 RP

Ahri herself is a creature from a magical, wild realm, so it isn’t a surprise that an Elderwood skin fits her so well.

Her character model looks absolutely gorgeous (and wild), with a floral-themed outfit, a stunning flower headdress, and some beastly horns.

Her tails even resemble petals, making you feel like a literal blooming flower 24/7.

The particle effects are equally whimsical, and every ability sounds clean.

To top it all off?

The ultimate feels impactful and the recall really captures Ahri’s mischievous side.

7. Elderwood Azir

Released: December 10th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

This skin transforms Azir into an all-powerful druid king.

He rocks an extravagant headpiece, otherworldly armor, and a glowing staff that’s bursting with intricate details.

The animations are equally mesmerizing – and build up his kingly persona – and the sound effects further immerse you in the mythical theme.

The best part of this skin though?

The recall – total Princess Mononoke vibes.

6. Elderwood Ornn

Released: December 10th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Elderwood Ornn looks like something out of a mystical dreamland.

The character design is brimming with beautiful yet eerie details, and the colors are bold and eye-catching without being obtrusive.

The skin also features a wide array of textures, which really adds depth to the overall look.

The animations are just as impressive as the character design. The ultimate even makes you feel like a powerful deity from a Studio Ghibli movie.

Plus, the skin isn’t short of aww-worthy elements; the tree forging in the recall is especially cute!

5. Elderwood Gnar

Released: January 6th, 2022
Price: 1350 RP

Elderwood Gnar is the perfect blend of whimsy, nature, and eeriness.

He looks like a mythical forest guardian from a whole other realm, and the mega form’s design is honestly a work of art.

I also seriously love the bi-colored eyes – they’re just so captivating (and cute!).

But the real showstopper isn’t the character model itself. It’s the animations.

They’re polished and utterly satisfying, and really give the skin a mysterious vibe.

4. Elderwood Rakan

Released: December 10th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Right. If you’re after a lore accurate skin for Rakan, Elderwood delivers on all fronts

Rakan is from Vastaya – a realm brimming with nature, animals, and magic – and this skin has all of those qualities

His outfit captures the spirit of the forest in every way, from his butterfly cape and nature-themed colors, to his antennae and wood armor.

Animations are bursting with nature inspiration too; the W now lets you grow plants, while the E and R spawn a flurry of butterflies.

Everything in this skin feels polished, and the visual clarity – despite the amount of “frills” this skin has – is top tier.

3. Elderwood Xayah

Released: December 10th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that I love Elderwood Xayah as well.

Both skins dive into the Vastaya theme and bring us mystical, captivating character models with top notch animations.

Personally, I do love Elderwood Xayah’s design a little more than Rakan’s.

The colors just pop out better and the glowy effect her wings have is mesmerizing.

The subtle moth references thrown into the design are a neat touch too, and help reflect Xayah’s darker side.

Oh, and while I didn’t mention it earlier, their joint recall is absolutely divine.

2. Elderwood Veigar

Released: August 29th, 2019
Price: 1350 RP

Virtually all the skins so far have been mystical and fairy-like, showing off the beauty of nature with blooming flowers and petals.

Which is great for the most part, but not so great if you’re after something that’ll give your enemies nightmares.

Luckily, Elderwood Veigar decided the fairy life was overrated and broke away from the mold.

The skin turns him into an evil mushroom king, and the design is genuinely nightmare fuel. I mean, just look at those eyes – it’s like you’re being watched by Sauron.

Your animations are also super clean and responsive, and sound effects are easy on the ears, which is sure to help you rack up that LP.

What I really love about this skin though – aside from its creepiness – is the chromas.

Not only are there heaps of them, but each one also adds some unique touches to the design.

There’s even a pink chroma that decorates Veigar in hearts, if you’re not a fan of the sinister look.

1. Elderwood Rek’Sai

Released: January 6th, 2022
Price: 1350 RP

This skin honestly blew me away.

In truth, it even made me want to forsake my current main and become a Rek’Sai OTP.

It’s just so, SO, beautiful – I can’t find a single thing I don’t like about the character model.

Colors are captivating and complement each other beautifully, and it’s packed with flashy details and fantasy elements.

The new animations and particle effects also make every attack feel immensely powerful, and the recall is blooming gorgeous (pun intended).

The main reason why I’m giving this skin the first spot though, is because of how much effort and thought was put into its design.

I mean, the design team were working with one of the most outdated character models in the game – so they really had to use their imaginations here!
