The Best Nunu Skins in League of Legends (All Ranked)

I think it’s safe to say that Nunu’s rework was one of the best Riot has ever done.

It kept everything that we loved about the original design but updated it so that he could stand with the modern crowd.

And his skins just went from good to amazing. So the question of the day is “which Nunu skin is the best?”

Based on pricing, overall appeal, and my snarky opinion, this is my ranking.

10. TPA Nunu & Willump

Released: May 23rd, 2013
Price: 750 RP

As you’ll quickly learn, Nunu doesn’t really have any bad skins. No matter which one you choose, it’ll be someone’s favorite of the bunch.

And TPA simply happens to be my least favorite. It doesn’t come with any new effects or animations (which isn’t always a bad thing) and Willump’s design is slightly off-putting.

I know he’s supposed to be a personification of TPA’s logo, but to me, he just looks like a rejected Cartoon Network character.

And the snowy particles don’t really work when you look like an egg-head demon.

I know that some people adore this skin, but I’m just not one of them.

9. Nunu & Beelump

Released: March 3rd, 2022
Price: 1350 RP

If you thought the last pick was controversial, you can only imagine the shaking of my boots for this one.

Willump simply terrifies me in this skin. He looks like he’s prepared to beat me up at any given point and I don’t want to be intimidated all game.

That’s basically my entire reasoning.

Fear factor aside, the skin does have some really cool features though. Like the new backing animation where the two of you take a load off on some flowers.

All of your abilities are also now honey themed (of course). This works really well thematically for your E – as I too would walk slower if someone chucked honey at my legs.

And your W has a very menacing buzzing soundtrack to accompany it – a true horror for anyone who is terrified of bees.

It’s also worth mentioning that the skin comes with eight chromas – with some of them really standing out in terms of design (like the Obsidian and Pearl).

Overall, this is an objectively well-made skin with lots of new effects and animations. However, I’m a coward and want it as far away from me as possible.

8. Workshop Nunu & Willump

Released: December 17th, 2009
Price: 520 RP

After the personal horror of that last pick, it’s good to talk about something cute.

And oh boy, does this skin hit all of the dopamine receptors.

It’s just a simple, cheap skin that changes your character model. Nunu is all dressed up for winter and Willump is a fluffy reindeer.

Since the skin is Christmas themed, all of the base animations and particles make sense with the theme – making it a pretty decent pickup all around.

I can’t place it too high up – as other skins are a lot more creative and polished, but it’s definitely a cute little skin that you can throw on during winter for some immersion points.

7. Demolisher Nunu & Willump

Released: August 24th, 2011
Price: 975 RP

Demolished Nunu & Willump is the only skin that doesn’t try to make them look cute. For that reason, it’s the perfect pick for anyone who wants to take the champion somewhat seriously.

Willump is all decked out in knight armor and looking like a real menace. And even little Nunu seems pretty battle ready.

For the most part, the skin does keep the original animations and particles – with the exception of the W. Although there are still ice particles around it, the ball itself is now made completely out of metal.

And even though I have no idea how metal grows under cold; it definitely looks a lot more intimidating than a snowball.

I’d say this skin is a decent pickup for anyone who doesn’t want to look too goofy. 975 RP for just a W and character model change is a bit pricey – but the skin is rather unique, so I’d say it’s worth it.

6. Grungy Nunu & Willump

Released: August 10th, 2010
Price: 750 RP

This skin makes you feel like you came straight out of Monsters Inc.

And it’s really hard not to fall in love with it instantly.

While Nunu is just rocking some PJs (which is admittedly pretty cute), Willump completely steals the show.

He truly looks like a mystical furry friend that is either here to scare you at night or to substitute for Totoro. I can’t stress enough how much I love his design.

In terms of animations and particles, it’s 99% the same as in the base skin. The only real difference is that your W snowball now has a slightly different design.

Personally, I don’t get why they made that change – but for 750 RP, I’m not really going to complain either way.

Lastly, we have to talk about how precious that splash art is. Without a doubt, it’s in my top 10 cutest things I’ve seen in my life.

So if you want to look adorable and don’t care much for the bells and whistles of newer skins – this is a solid option.

5. Sasquatch Nunu & Willump

Released: November 20th, 2009
Price: 520 RP

Just like the previous pick, this skin is high in my ranking strictly because of how much I love the theme. It doesn’t come with any new animations or particles, but I’d say it’s better off for it.

Willump just looks so mystical and interesting in this skin that it honestly doesn’t need any additional selling point.

You look at that splash art, go “wow”, get in-game, and “wow” some more. It’s that simple!

And while I can’t place it too high (as other skins simply bring so much more to the table), this is one of my favorite budget skin picks for Nunu.

4. Papercraft Nunu & Willump

Released: February 21st, 2019
Price: 1350 RP

Just like Grungy, this skin carries some extreme Ghibli vibes.

However, it also has some new particles and animations to back it all up.

But first, let’s talk about the character model. While Nunu himself looks like you standard your adventurer, Willump’s design is a lot more ambitious.

He almost has a lion-like aesthetic and is made completely out of paper. The color scheme also meshes really well with his new particles.

Speaking of which, this skin probably has my favorite passive auto attack particles of them all. They just feel extremely smooth, and the light greens really make them pop.

As far as the other abilities go, it mostly revolves around little paper birds that you throw around. Or give literal sentience to (in the case of your new backing animation).

The new W isn’t my favorite of the bunch, but I’ll give Riot props for making the ult feel a lot more powerful than usual. The splash art is amazing and even the chroma game is pretty strong (with Catseye being my personal favorite and Pearl a close second).

Overall, the skin comes with a lot of new and interesting features, a cool theme, and a lot of wholesomeness. So, give it a look!

3. Zombie Nunu & Willump

Released: November 5th, 2015
Price: 1350 RP

For the longest time, this was my favorite skin in the entire game.

And while it’s no longer the king in my eyes, it’s still pretty great.

The biggest selling point for this skin is the new VO. Instead of saying classic Disney movie-like cliches, you now mumble and growl at everything.

And man, it’s absolutely hilarious. There’s something so perfect about completely failing a dive and then just spamming that stupid growl. Plus, it’s not just the VO that adds that layer of goofiness to it all.

Willump not just acts and walks like a blubbering idiot (even in your emotes). And again, it’s extremely satisfying to see.

The new animations and particles are also decent – usually revolving around making everything green and slimy. And adding a nice little burp at the end of your ult channel.

But those things come secondary – it’s all about being an idiot and having the most fun possible. So, if that sounds fun to you, give this skin a shot!

2. Space Groove Nunu & Willump

Released: April 1st, 2021
Price: 1350 RP

This skin has a pretty similar selling point as the last one – but with less goofiness and way more jazz.

The character model is truly out there. Willump just looks like some mutated hippo who merged with a Bop It. Nunu is a bit more tame but still very disco.

But it’s the new effects that make this skin truly stand out. For one, you get some nice tunes while rolling your W – really getting you into the mood before either destroying someone’s life or inting.

And the ult now just has you throwing an all-out party – with lights, music, everything! I have to say, it makes an already fun ult one of the most entertaining things in the entire game.

Other animations (like your Q and E) are mostly fine but don’t carry that same entertainment value. The backing animation is predictably funky as hell and the chroma selection is just stacked.

Overall, a really nice and polished skin that can make even the worst of games somewhat bearable.

1. Nunu & Willump Bot

Released: May 5th, 2011
Price: 1820 RP

Before the rework, this is the Nunu skin that everyone wanted. And I’m happy to say that it still carries that title.

Thematically, the skin just makes a lot of sense – as we’ve seen god knows how many robot + child inventor duos in the past.

And since this skin also gives Willump an actual voice – it makes the pair seem even chummier than usual. Plus, Willump has some nice burns in your new taunt.

The beep boop sounds of your W are just extremely satisfying and both your Q and E are nicely polished. The ult I’m a little torn on – as the addition of a countdown makes it a lot easier for the enemy to avoid taking damage.

But all of these things are less important as everyone knows why you get this skin – that godforsaken laugh. I don’t care who you are, or even which team you are on, that laugh will tilt you off the face of the planet.

And if you’re the Nunu player, you’ll know that you can break the morale of any player with just a few presses of a button.

This is probably the worst skin to play against – which makes it the best skin to play with. Any questions?
