Best League of Legends Skins Ever Made: The Ultimate Ranking

Over a thousand skins have graced the Rift since the game’s beginnings.

Each skin is unique in its own way. There are comical skins that are loved for their meme-worthy quality – ahem, Little Devil Teemo – and then there’s skins so badass they make you want to main the champion, no matter how little you’ve played them before.

Of course, it goes without saying that not all skins are equal.

There are some we would sell all our LP for, but there are others that…

should have probably been left in the design team’s trashcan.

If you want to know what the “sell ya LP for them” skins are, you’ve come to the right place. Below I’ve ranked my top picks for the best League of Legends skins of all time.

Get your wallet at the ready!

15. Little Devil Teemo

Little Devil Teemo Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: October 19th, 2016
Price: 1350 RP

Teemo’s a small Yordle with a big reputation. He’s famous for being the most hated champion in League.

Even more hated than a 0/10 Yasuo.

And it’s no surprise why.

Poisonous darts that whittle away at your mental?

Shrooms that eat all your HP?

An earsplitting giggle that makes you want to smash your keyboard every time you hear it?

How can you possibly not fall in love with him? (warning: sarcasm detected).

In 2016, Riot finally gave Teemo the skin that should’ve clearly been his base model:

Little Devil Teemo.

As the name suggest, this skin turns Teemo into a devil; tiny horns, a pitchfork, a devilish crown – he’s got it all.

Even his shrooms have a satanic look. Their twisted smiles will honestly haunt my nightmares forever.

14. Dunkmaster Darius

Released: October 12th, 2014
Price: 1820 RP

Next up is the man, the myth, the legend: good ol’ Dunkmaster Darius.

Dunkmaster Darius is one of the best League of Legends skins out there, and not just because it has jawdropping animations or a phenomenal design, but simply because it’s just so damn fun to play with!

You get to literally dunk your enemies while Darius spouts out hilarious voice lines like:

“This is the dunk train running you down.”

“Was your plan all pain, no gain?”

And you can’t forget the classic: “You want a piece of the D-man?”

Darius is also one of the many few “pay to win” skins in the game.

By just equipping this skin, you’re guaranteed to tilt your enemies as soon as you enter the Rift.

13. Solar Eclipse Leona

Solar Eclipse Leona Skin / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: November 27th, 2018
Price: 1820 RP

Leona, the Radiant Dawn, is a champion imbued with the sun’s power.

Unfortunately, her base model doesn’t exactly capture this – it feels more like she’s imbued with some shiny otherworldly goop.

Enter Solar Eclipse Leona:

A skin that finally turns Leona into the epitome of “Radiant Dawn.”

This skin suits Leona up in a full body armor that radiates fiery, solar energy whenever she attacks.

Her chest plate is embossed with the sun, and both her shield and sword look as though they’re powered by an eclipse.

Her emotes and animations are equally impressive – there is solar inspo literally everywhere.

In all honesty, Solar Eclipse Leona made me forsake my main (soz Rakan) for a good few weeks.

The only reason I stopped playing her and praisin’ the sun?

Averaging a 0/10/0 KDA, it just wasn’t meant to be!

12. Corporate Mundo

Corporate Mundo Skin Splash / LoL

Released: September 12th, 2010
Price: 1820 RP

The corporate life is stressful, painful, and downright boring.

If you ever wished you could run away from all your responsibilities, or whack your overdemanding boss over the head with your briefcase, then Corporate Mundo is the skin for you.

He literally lets you do exactly this, all while dressed in a dapper suit.

Plus, he has the best walk animation in the game – he walks with a strut that screams “I’m not working overtime this week and you can’t make me.”

Ah, such admirable courage.

Oh, and move over PROJECT: Vayne – your motorcycle is nothing compared to Corporate Mundo’s vroomin’ lil car.

11. Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot

Released: April 1st, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

For years – and I’m talking years – LoL players begged Riot for Star Guardian Urgot.

They protested.

They prayed.

They drew fanart and concept designs of what Star Guardian Urgot could be.

And finally, after mounting pressure and endless persuasion, Riot finally gave in and blessed us with the greatest Star Guardian skin of all:

Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot.

Okay, so it’s not exactly a Star Guardian skin, but it’s close enough!

This skin transforms Urgot into a magical girl, then tops his look off with some sparkles and a kawaii cat helmet.

What makes this skin even better is that his voice lines don’t change;

While looking like a magical girl, he’ll be screaming:

“Controlling them will be simple… with my hand around their throats.”

and

“Endless misery, mhm… Wonderful.”

Pure comedy.

10. Storm Dragon Lee Sin

Released: October 1st, 2020
Price: 1820 RP

I absolutely hate Lee Sin as a champion, but if he’s wearing this skin?

I can’t hate him in the slightest.

Storm Dragon Lee Sin looks like a total badass that’s capable of destroying Thor.

His awesome looks win my heart over every time – clearly something he’s an expert in, since he managed to convince the mighty Aurelion Sol to give him the power of the storm.

His emotes are also downright comical, which just adds to his charm.

For example, in one emote he tries to summon a thunderous storm and instead he summons…

a single raincloud that drenches him completely *cue sad music.*

In another, he does push-ups not with his hands, but with lightning “laser beams” from his eyes.

And of course, who could forget his most famous emote: his dance.

Yep, with this skin you’ll get to see Lee Sin groove out to some killer beats.

9. High Noon Lucian

High Noon Lucian Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: August 30th, 2018
Price: 1820 RP

High Noon Lucian brings the Wild West to the Rift with some extra finesse.

But what makes this skin so great isn’t simply the awesome Western vibe. It’s actually the fact that it transforms Lucian into a devil in disguise.

Nope. I’m not talking about his personality. He’s literally a devil.

On the outside, he proudly wears a sheriff’s badge and fights for “justice.”

But on the inside?

He’s a fiery demon that can’t wait to shoot down any who dare defy him.

While he only shows his full demonic form in his recall and ultimate, there are some subtle touches in the skin which hint at his true nature.

For example, when he attacks hellish smoke trails behind him, and his pistols represent his sheriff/devil duality; one is corrupted and clearly borrowed from Satan, while the other has an angelic look.

The best part of this skin though has got to be the laugh he makes when ulting.

It’s downright badass and more devilish than Teemo’s.

8. Dawnbringer Soraka

Dawnbringer Soraka Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: December 12th, 2019
Price: 1820 RP

Dawnbringer Soraka is the epitome of eye candy: from her gorgeous hair to her mystical glowing staff, every single aspect is stunning.

She truly looks like a goddess from a celestial realm.

Plus, she also has a pair of magical wings that even Anivia would envy.

But what makes this skin worthy of being ranked among the top 10 of all time?

It has an emote that pays homage to the “death by banana” meme in the godliest way possible:

The emote literally conjures up a giant floating banana for all to admire.

Celestial goddess ft. banana power move? What’s not to love!

7. Spirit Blossom Thresh

Spirit Blossom Thresh Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 1820 RP

Thresh may be a sadistic soul-destroying demon from the abyss, but who says he’s gotta look like one?

This skin turns Thresh into a dreamy, body pillow-worthy husbando from a fantasy world.

Instead of chains, he’s got luscious flowing hair.

Instead of a scythe, he’s got a groovin’ soul-hungry sprite.

Instead of a nightmare-inducing skull head?

The smile of a prince.

What makes this skin particularly neat is the unlockable toggle option to switch between his human and demon form (which, btw, is just as aesthetic).

You basically get two skins for the price of one.

6. Dawnbringer Yone

Dawnbringer Yone Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: September 23rd, 2021
Price: 1820 RP

Sorry Yasuo, your bro is totally winning in the looks department thanks to Dawnbringer.

Dawnbringer Yone is a legendary skin, but it honestly feels like an ultimate.

It mixes light and darkness together just like High Noon Lucian does, but it adds even greater depth.

Every animation is a masterpiece, and you can clearly see the battle between good and evil within him, especially when he uses his E: the body left behind is a corrupted demon, while the actual soul is pure and angelic (symbolic, much?).

And to top it all off, his ultimate ability honestly looks as though it’s a final boss move.

5. PROJECT: Vayne

PROJECT: Vayne Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: November 22nd, 2017
Price: 1820 RP

Zooming closer to the top of the ranking, here we have PROJECT: Vayne.

This skin ups Vayne’s badassery by tenfold.

She sports cyberpunk-themed armor – complete with a holographic visor and electrifying cape – and has an ult that transforms your screen into her personal HUD.

Her abilities also have a holographic feel to them, which makes every fight infinitely more fun.

Yet what truly makes PROJECT: Vayne worthy of being among the best League of Legends skins is her motorcycle.

Yep.

She can summon a motorcycle, rev it up, and ride it across the map.

It’s fun, it’s awesome, and it’ll let you live out your childhood dream of riding a motorcycle for a fraction of the cost.

4. God-King Garen

God-King Garen Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: June 27th, 2018
Price: 1820 RP

No other Garen skin captures the Demacian might like God-King does.

Everything about this skin screams a proud and noble king hellbent on saving his people.

His drab armor is replaced with a bold white armor adorned with gold and a flowing cape; befitting for any royal.

When he attacks, his armor also becomes illuminated, as if strengthened by the will of the Demacian people.

Besides his armor, God-King Garen’s sword has total Excalibur vibes – it’s giant, eye-catching, and looks strong enough to slice through a mountain (or two).

Of course, what truly makes God-King Garen one of the best League skins is the furry companion that fights by his side: the lion spirit.

The lion is utterly badass, and yet utterly adorable.

There is no in-game emote cuter than the one where Garen picks up the lion and dances with it, moving its lil paws.

3. Dark Cosmic Jhin

Dark Cosmic Jhin Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: June 13th, 2019
Price: 1820 RP

In lore, Jhin is a “meticulous criminal psychopath” that believes murder is an art form.

Dark Cosmic Jhin takes this to a whole other level:

He’s now an interstellar being set on murdering whoever dares to get in his way, whether stars, galaxies or Astronaut Teemo (rip lil Yordle).

There’s a lot to enjoy (or be traumatized by) in this skin.

He has a nightmare-inducing mask – seriously, that eye is horrifying – four grotesque arms (it’s gotta be four, right?) and armor that looks like it’s straight out of a dystopian sci-fi.

Despite his terrifying looks, his abilities truly capture his belief that murder is an art form; his attacks summon blooming flowers and sparkling stars.

The ult is also utterly jawdropping.

The entire Rift transforms into a universe decked out with planets, asteroids and constellations.

If you want to be transported into space, or simply want to have a shot at playing a hotter (albeit a more nightmare-inducing) version of Thanos, Dark Comic Jhin is the one – ahem, four for you.

2. Elementalist Lux

Elementalist Lux Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: November 28th, 2016
Price: 3250 RP

Choosing which skin to dress up your fave champion in can be pretty tough.

But if you’re a Lux main?

You’re in luck, since you don’t have to decide on just one skin.

After all, the Elementalist skin gives you not one, not five, but 10 gorgeous skin forms to play with in-game.

You can change them throughout the match, allowing you to blast your enemies to smithereens in a new way every time.

Each skin form has its own unique color and theme – unsurprisingly based on the elements – but they all boast a magical, fairy-like vibe.

Oh, and by the way, you totally feel like the Avatar while playing with this skin (move over, Aang).

My personal favorite form is the fire element one. It’s badass, blazin’, and her outfit screams killer queen!

1. DJ Sona

DJ Sona Skin Splash / LoL
Credit: Riot Games

Released: February 25th, 2015
Price: 3250 RP

Let’s be real:

The Rift’s music gets pretty… repetitive and dull after some time. The announcer’s monotone voice isn’t exactly dance-worthy, either.

But if you’ve got DJ Sona?

The Rift transforms into a kickass disco that’ll leave you groovin’ as you slaughter the enemy.

Put simply: Sona takes on the role of a futuristic DJ and lets you (and your entire team) rock out to three unique tunes.

Besides blessing your ears, the skin is also easy on the eyes.

Everything about it just immerses you in a cyberpunk-themed party.

DJ Sona’s soundboard also looks gorgeous as it pumps out music, and her Hatsune Miku-inspired hair flows with the beat.

Even the way her body moves adjusts with the music.

Put on some ethereal, soothing music? DJ Sona will slowly sway side to side like she’s still in champ select and the match hasn’t started.

But put on some techno beats? She’ll bang her head like she’s just secured a penta.

This skin is also downright powerful, and not just because it gets every player tapping their feet irl.

It also instantly detilts your teammates:

if one of your allies is determined to run it down mid, the sweet sound of DJ Sona will instantly zap away their toxicity and turn them into a hyped-up & motivated ally.

Sure, Seraphine clearly stole Sona’s spotlight.

But in my opinion, DJ Sona is still the life of the party and the queen of the dance floor.
