Riot is always finding new ways to lure its otaku playerbase into parting ways with their cash, whether through kawaii skins or new “uwu’in” emotes.

But out of all their attempts so far, the Spirit Blossom skin line is by far the best.

It draws directly from Japanese aesthetic, anime, and folklore.

We’re talking kimonos, katanas, waifus, husbandos, frills – the lot.

So, self-proclaimed otakus, get ready to live out your anime protagonist dreams as we rank all the Spirit Blossom skins, considering each one’s animations, particle effects, and overall look.

10. Spirit Blossom Cassiopeia

Released: August 6th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Cassiopeia might turn onlookers into stone, but even I can’t keep my eyes off her Spirit Blossom skin.

It’s pure eyecandy.

The skin makes her look like an ethereal queen – well, as much as a slitherin’ snake can look majestic – and her animations are smooth, clean, and beautiful.

While the ultimate could do with a little more “oomph,” the detailing in this skin is superb.

You can even see every individual scale on her tail.

The backing animation is bursting with creativity too, featuring mystical purple flowers, sparkles, and a whole lot of zen garden inspo.

9. Spirit Blossom Lillia

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Galloping her way into 9th place is Spirit Blossom Lillia.

This skin honestly makes Lillia look like she came straight out of a Disney movie (yep, move over Bambi, there’s a new deer in town).

Her tail has been given a zillion times more floof, and she now has frills, glowing hooves, and kawaii ears.

I would have ranked Spirit Blossom Lillia more highly (it’s definitely one of the cutest skins in the line) but the outfit is pretty basic.

The skin does make up for this with its animations, though.

The recall is particularly captivating.

Lillia summons up a giant spirit gate – apt considering her kit is all about sending her enemies into an otherworldly realm.

8. Spirit Blossom Vayne

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Sure, flowers, petals, and sparkles are great.

But what about something that makes you feel like a total badass while you massacre enemies (and rack up Vaynespotting points)?

Spirit Blossom Vayne provides just that experience.

It honestly makes you look like a demon that came straight out of Overlord, with a badass ghoulish outfit and an aura of blue flames.

What makes this skin seriously amazing though is that the ultimate allows you to transform into a fully-fledged demon.

So yep, you can literally send anime haters to hell.

While Spirit Blossom Vayne is the epitome of badass, it’s unfortunately let down by the clunky base model animations.

If Riot ever decides to rework Vayne though?

This skin will be God, ahem, Satan material.

7. Spirit Blossom Teemo

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Teemo might be notorious for being the most annoying champion in the game, but with this skin equipped?

You can’t help but fall in love with him.

Spirit Blossom Teemo looks utterly gorgeous and brags the perfect amount of humor and cuteness.

He’s transformed into a tanuki – befitting considering these animals are tricksters in Japanese folklore – and sports a snazzy flute and pink rice hat (with little slits for his ears).

Animations are clear and colorful, and the shrooms are also super cute; they’re essentially mushroom-like yokai with heaps of derpy personality.

6. Spirit Blossom Kindred

Released: August 6th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

If Princess Mononoke is your all-time favorite Ghibli movie, you’ll definitely fall in love with Spirit Blossom Kindred.

The skin basically transforms Lamb into San and Wolf into Moro, with a little more dreaminess and floral vibes.

Even the recall features kodama-like creatures.

The skin isn’t all “weeb” and no substance though.

Particle effects are stunning, and every attack feels responsive and abilities (including Kindred’s mark) are easy to see.

5. Spirit Blossom Riven

Released: August 6th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

If you’re playing one of the most mechanically advanced champions in the game (aka Riven), you need to have fluid and responsive animations.

Spirit Blossom Riven delivers on all fronts.

Every attack feels smooth, hard-hitting, and crisp. Visual clarity is also top tier, making it easier to land complex combos during a fight.

Aside from the satisfying attack animations, the overall look is awe-worthy.

A Susanoo-like monster empowers your moves – perf for all the Naruto lovers out there – and the blade is badass, imbued with purple hellfire.

Plus the recall shows off the inner turmoil within Riven, which further adds to the skin’s depth.

4. Prestige Spirit Blossom Teemo

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 100 Prestige Points

The Prestige Edition of Spirit Blossom Teemo basically adds a “premium feel” to the skin.

The pinks have been swapped out for golds, and Teemo now leaves a trail of petals and flowers behind him wherever he goes.

Plus the ability animations have also been given an upgrade, with more colorful tones and sparkles.

Overall, the skin feels magical, looks magical, and I’m sure the extra-smooth animations will also work some magic in your ranked games.

3. Spirit Blossom Ahri

Released: August 6th, 2020
Price: 1820 RP

Spirit Blossom Ahri is by far the cutest and most stylish Spirit Blossom skin.

It’s packed to the brim with pastels, frills, petals, and kawaii emotes – she can even transform into a little white fox and play around in snow.

Aside from providing plenty of aww-worthy in-game moments, the skin also levels up your gameplay, with crisp animations and distinct particle effects.

Plus her animations are silky smooth, to the extent that you’ll never be able to use her clunky base model again; once you experience heaven, there’s no going back.

2. Spirit Blossom Yasuo

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

Spirit Blossom turns Yasuo into husbando material.

He rocks an ethereal, godly arm (that puts Tryndamere’s right arm to shame), a pink flower headpiece, and a stylish kimono that reveals his abs in all their glory.

But the skin isn’t all looks and no substance; animations are equally gorgeous.

Every strike glows and flows, and sakura petals scatter beautifully across the map whenever he dashes.

The W even features a holographic moving zen scene that is sure to relieve any tilt.

Oh, and the ultimate makes you feel like a deity sent from the heavens to vanquish your foes.

Pure, anime power.

1. Spirit Blossom Thresh

Released: July 22nd, 2020
Price: 1820 RP

Thresh has been known to steal wives, but he didn’t exactly “look” like the type of guy who’d make hearts swoon.

That is, until Spirit Blossom Thresh was released in 2020.

In this skin, Thresh sports a heart-fluttering smile, an outfit abundant in fanservice, and flowing locks that would make even Seraphine jealous.

But what makes this skin worthy of the number one spot?

The fact that it gives you the option to toggle between human and demon form.

Yep. You can choose the last thing your enemies see: a hot husbando bod or a nightmare-inducing demon.
