Why get all up close and personal when you can just pelt people with explosives from miles away?

That’s the thought process that goes through each League player’s mind seconds before maining Ziggs.

And since you’ve already chosen a life in the backline, I say you should look good hanging out there.

So let’s rank all of Ziggs’ skins in League, based on overall appeal and price.

Bombs away!

10. Major Ziggs

Released: February 1st, 2012
Price: 975 RP

Even though this skin is at last place in the ranking, it isn’t half bad.

The war general look fits Ziggs quite nicely. And the fact that he’s also completely insane makes you feel like you are playing a discount Kled.

I especially like the absolutely ridiculous glasses.

The skin doesn’t offer any new animations, but your abilities have been recolored to fit the slightly darker theme.

Overall it’s a pretty solid skin – but it’s ironically tame for a dude this ridiculous.

9. Mad Scientist Ziggs

Released: February 1st, 2012
Price: 975 RP

We’ve got the same price point here as the previous skin, but Mad Scientist Ziggs is a lot more ambitious.

As the name might suggest, Ziggs has gone full crazy scientist with this skin, and his character model reflects this very well.

All of your abilities, except your W, have also been significantly changed so that you now throw vials of who knows what at your enemy.

The only real downside to this skin is that your W is still classic TNT, which seems somewhat weird for a scientist to have.

Unless your name is Nobel or something.

8. Hextech Ziggs

Released: September 3rd, 2020
Price: 10 Gemstones

Just like most Hextech skins, this one is heavily nerfed by its price.

The character model is pretty good though, as it makes Ziggs look like some eccentric billionaire that gave up on fighting Bond and has now dedicated his life to the Rift. I especially like the top hat.

As far as animations are concerned, the Q, E and R all see very good, while the W is brilliant.

That added motion of the bomb opening up just adds a lot of oomph to the impact of the ability.

With all of that said, most 1350 RP skins match or even outperform this one. So the fact that it wants you to cough up ten Gemstones is a bit too much.

7. Snow Day Ziggs

Released: December 14th, 2012
Price: 975 RP

Snow Day Ziggs offers some great value.

The character model is rather decent here, and makes Ziggs look rather warm, while all of your abilities have been revamped to make the enemy feel rather cold… and dead.

Your Q and E are just standard snowballs, which is to be expected, but then your W and R feature the meanest looking snowman I have ever seen. Which is quite the nice touch.

Sure, it might not have a unique backing animation or emotes.

But considering it’s only 975 RP, I’d say it’s a great bang for your buck!

The only reason I’ve placed it relatively low here is because I’m not a huge fan of hearing crunching snow all day.

6. Battle Boss Ziggs

Released: August 8th, 2017
Price: 1350 RP

Okay, now we’re getting into the really difficult rankings now.

So let’s get the heaps of praise out of the way for this skin first.

Just like all arcade skins, Battle Boss Ziggs has some S-class animations. Everything is turned into 8 bit, and certain abilities have been given quite the interesting twist!

Namely your W is just a really angry 8-bit dude with an explosive temper, and your E actually features very curious mines that like to look around as they wait for someone to meet their demise.

It’s a very flashy and clever custom design on Riot’s part.

However, the one nitpick I do have is that you do not feel like a Battle Boss, but more like a henchman or sidekick.

Maybe it’s just me, but that character model does not incite boss battle music within my heart.

5. Pool Party Ziggs

Released: September 4th, 2012
Price: 1350 RP

This skin was also really hard to rank simply because of its legacy.

This was the go-to Ziggs skin for years and it still is to many Ziggs mains. I mean, who doesn’t love throwing water balloons at people?

Plus, your W is a ducky float, which is like the best thing ever. It even quacks!

However, I do still think that rest of the skins have much more interesting themes, and they simply outperform in terms of visual and sound effects while carrying the same price tag.

So Pool Party Ziggs will have to sit here for now.

4. BZZZiggs

Released: March 3rd, 2022
Price: 1350 RP

Let’s be honest here – even if this was the ugliest skin on the planet, it would’ve been a mid-tier on this list based on the name alone.

Thankfully, it’s actually really fun.

First off, you look like the biggest jazz enjoyer I’ve ever seen. Unlike Heimer, you’re a proper bee through and through. And I honestly respect this move.

As you could imagine, all of your abilities are also bee-focused. But I was surprised by the way in which Riot worked them in.

Sure, your Q is just a bouncing bee that gets angrier with each bounce. That much was predictable. But your E actually has a bunch of flowers with bees on top. If you’ve ever stepped on a bee while barefoot, you know that this depiction of Ziggs’ E is now way more accurate than when it was a bunch of mines.

Your W is a honeycomb and your ult is just a giant jar of the sticky stuff. Overall, a nice bit of creative diversity in this skin!

The sound effects aren’t as ambitious – but hey, you can’t have it all!

Lastly, you get a pretty cute backing animation and eight different chromas to choose from.

Overall, the skin is just fun. I don’t think it’s as high quality as the ones that follow but definitely a solid choice if you want to buzz some people off.

3. Odyssey Ziggs

Released: September 12th, 2018
Price: 1350 RP

I absolutely loved the Odyssey event – and this skin reminds me of that.

The futuristic look was handled very well, as it doesn’t seem too flashy, but it also gives you those crisp sci-fi vibes. A.K.A. it looks like you came straight out of Ratchet and Clank.

The ability animations here are rather good across the board – with the exception of the W, which is a masterpiece.

Having the little disc beam in all of the mines was just such a nice visual effect that by itself bumped this skin up a placement on this list.

Also, I don’t usually like chromas all that much, but this one has some really decent choices.

2. Sugar Rush Ziggs

Released: December 17th, 2019
Price: 1350 RP

Sugar Rush Ziggs is one of those goofy ideas that just sort of works – even though I have no idea why.

Let’s start from the character model.

The pink theme, cupcake backpack, and whip-cream hair I could have seen coming. But it was those damn candy glasses that really got me.

I never knew it was possible to make Ziggs look even more insane until I saw this skin.

And the animations are all as sweet as you would imagine, pun intended. From cakes to cupcakes and batches of jello, this skin has it all.

The only reason I didn’t put this at the top is because the skin kinda gets less and less funny the more you play it.

1. Master Arcanist Ziggs

Released: May 6th, 2015
Price: 1350 RP

What makes this skin top the charts isn’t really having the flashiest of animations, or the craziest of ideas, but rather how well it fits in with Ziggs as a champion.

It just turns you into this little wizard dude with a big book and balls of exploding energy.

Plus, this is one of few skins that makes you feel like you’re really playing League of Legends.

He’s wearing Rabadon’s Deathcap, he has an amp tome on his back, and a Rylai’s scepter in his bag of goods when the throws out a W.

It makes you feel a bit more connected to the game.

Plus this design never really seems to get boring or go out of style, so it’s an evergreen victor.
