Villages have a couple of purposes in Minecraft.

They can be used for housing. They can be used for trading.

But the most natural purpose of all, though?

Being a victim of robberies.

These mods will either make looting villages more fun, or make you feel bad for the poor souls that you’re stealing from.

Just remember that they’re AIs, so they don’t have souls, I promise.

This mod will give you what every The Wolf of Wall Street fanboy wishes they had:

Complete control over capitalism.

You can modify the trades of villagers in any way you wish. Add new ones, remove existing ones – whatever you want!

You can even create new villager professions.

When I said that this mod gives you complete control over capitalism, I meant it.

But with great control comes great responsibility.

I’m trusting you not to create some ludicrous infinite diamond-making trade where you can exchange an egg for 64 diamond blocks.

That’s something only a The Wolf of Wall Street fanboy would do. And you’re not a The Wolf of Wall Street fanboy, right? You’re better than that.

4. Millenaire

Are you getting bored of your boring old villages?

Fear not, because Millenaire will replace them with interesting old villages!

You’ll feel super immersed in these new (old?) villages that are based on 11th-century cultures.

The villagers feel more real too and they even provide you with incentives to help their village grow. After all, what’s more real than “if you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”?

Next time your grandpa tells you how tough he had it back in his day, you’ll have some even more ancient stories to shut that old man right up.

Or maybe he’ll fire back with another story in a vicious display of one-upmanship.

Whatever happens, hug it out afterwards because I’m sure he’s trying.

If you’re reading this list, it’s probably safe to assume that you’re a fan of villages.

When people are fans of something, what do they want?

An autograph. But also more of that thing!

Mo’ Villages is for those of you that love villages so much that you want more of them.

It adds villages to plenty more biomes – because there’s no reason that villagers wouldn’t want to live in the mushroom islands biome. You can eat the trees!

2. Bountiful

There’s one thing that Mojang’s programmers didn’t seem to think of when adding villagers to Minecraft: the pain of unemployment.

It’s understandable why they never thought of this, considering that they’re Mojang’s programmers.

But every time I walk past the farmers and the butchers, I’m reminded that my character does not have a job.

I don’t know if I’m just insecure, but their strange grunts sound like mockery to me.

This mod adds something called a “bounty board” to villages, which to an unemployed person, is basically a giant “Now Hiring” job ad.

And it’s an ad for the coolest job in town:

Bounty hunter.

And like most jobs, there’s a boring part and a fun part.

The boring part is when the bounty asks you to “bounty hunt” for some random item and bring it back.

The fun part is when the bounty asks you to “bounty hunt” by brutally slaughtering some monsters!

Through my amazing ability to read people, I’ve already established that you’re a fan of villages.

Through this skill, I also know you’re a fan of villagers.

And when people are fans of people, what do they want? An autograph.

But what if they’re superfans? They want more of those people! Isn’t that why crazy fans buy celebrity hairs off the internet?

The More Villagers mod is similar to Mo’ Villages, except it focuses on adding more types of villagers into Minecraft – and it also doesn’t drop the r and the e at the end of “More”.

Plus this mod adds new jobs, new trades, and new workstations to villagers, so they can be just as interesting as the person who’ll invade their land and steal their crops. That’s you!
