In NNK:CW, CP (Combat Power) reflects the sum total of your character’s stats — allowing you and other players to see the current capabilities of your character.

You can also use CP as an indicator as to whether or not you can clear a certain stage, kill a certain boss, or farm a mob of monsters.

In this guide I’ll cover 7 of the best methods that I’ve found to increase your character’s total CP.

Method #1: Get Some Class Levels

Class Level Up (Level 70) / Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds
Class Level Up (Level 70)

Leveling up fast should be your main priority if you want to get as much Combat Power as possible in the early game.

Not only does leveling up increase your CP passively, but it also unlocks all of the necessary mechanics that you’ll need to increase your CP further.

There are also Class Grades that allow you to get boosts in CP along with other valuable rewards as soon as you reach certain levels, so keep that grind for EXP alive!

Method #2: Optimize Your Equipment & Familiars

Your Familiars and Equipment are the most important aspects of the game to get right if you want to achieve the highest CP for your character.

After you’ve chosen the appropriate Familiars and equipment to invest in (preferably 4★ ones), remember to do the following strengthening methods:

  • Level Up (Equipment/Familiars)
  • Enhance (Equipment/Familiars)
  • Awaken (Equipment/Familiars)
  • Upgrade (Equipment)
  • Imprint Gems (Equipment)
  • Evolve (Familiars)
  • Equip Toys (Familiars)

Doing these regularly maximizes the CP-boost you get from Equipment and Familiars, which then improves both your character’s DPS output and survivability.

Method #3: Curse Your Equipment Pieces

Putting a Curse effect on your equipment pieces is the next step to optimizing your equipment to achieve higher total CP.

This feature will become available to you as soon as you enhance a single piece of gear to +20 Enhance.

Upon reaching +21 Enhance through this mechanic, your equipment will then receive a Curse effect.

This effect increases equipment and gem stats by 20% — raising your CP significantly!

Method #4: Participate In Events

Ancient Lamp (Ancient Genie Episode Event) / Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds

Events are one of the best sources of important materials and resources in the game.

But what some players might not know, is that some Events (mostly Episode Events) allow you to increase your Combat Power for a limited time!

Obtaining additional Combat Power from Events does involve quite a bit of grinding, so make sure to dedicate some of your playing time to them.

Method #5: Set Your Records Straight

Records are split into four main categories:

  • Soulstones
  • Specialties
  • Vistas
  • Chests

Monster Soulstones (Serene Forest) / Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds
Monster Soulstones (Serene Forest)

Farming Soulstones and Specialties require lots of AFK farming and Aroma of Focus, but they’ll boost your CP a decent amount as long as you reach 5★ for each of them.

Treasure Chests (Southern Heartlands) / Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds

Vistas and Chests, on the other hand, are much easier to farm CP from – since you only need to find them on maps. No tedious mob farming required!

Method #6: Get Your Power Ups In Order

Just like Records, Power Ups are divided into three main categories:

  • Lucky Higgledies
  • Tetro Puzzles
  • Heart Stars

Lucky Higgledies

Lucky Higgledies can be upgraded using Four-leaf Clovers. You get them whenever you fail at RNG-based tasks like enhancing, cooking, or awakening.

Tetro Puzzles

Tetro Puzzles

Tetro Puzzles, on the other hand, increase your CP as long as they’ve been completed or there are puzzle pieces currently in them.

The better the quality of the pieces you put down, the better the CP Boost you can get from this mechanic.

Heart Stars

And then we have Heart Stars, that increase a Character’s individual stats along with their total Combat Power.

Not only can you get CP boosts here, but you can also get passive buffs that improve your performance in certain game modes like:

  • Chaos Fields
  • Dimensional Border
  • Field Bosses
  • World Bosses

Method #7: Eat Some Food

[Special] Fried Fish With Tartar Sauce / Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds

For our last method, we have a temporary albeit very effective way of increasing CP on short notice — eating food.

Consuming dishes and feasts allows you to increase individual stats and overall CP within 10 and 30 minutes, respectively.

They’re invaluable if you want to boost your DPS output and survivability before tackling hard game modes!

Other Methods To Increase CP

Ancient Genie (Episode Dungeon Boss) / Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds

Though not as effective as the methods listed above, here are some other ways that you can increase your overall CP:

  • Increase your Dueling Grade
  • Increase your Achievement Grade
  • Complete Your Codex & Collections
  • Create and level up alt characters
  • Collect Achievements
  • Strengthen your Mounts
  • Buy Theater Buffs from your Kingdom
