How To Get Tomatoes, Corn, & Apples (Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds)

The only source of Tomatoes, Corn, and Apples is the Familiar Forest, where you can plant, cultivate, and harvest these crops.

As soon as you unlock the Familiar Forest at Level 31 (and upon clearing the “Fruits of the Heart” Reputation quest), you’ll be given the materials you need to start farming crops.

You can also buy more Tomato Fields, Corn Fields, and Apple Trees from the Sprout Point Exchange Shop – that way you can harvest more crops every time you visit your Familiar Forest.

How To Use/Spend Crops

Tomatoes, Corn, and Apples can be exchanged for Sprout Coins in the Sprout Point Exchange Shop.

You can then use these Sprout Coins to either buy more fields and trees to multiply your farming output, or to buy other items, like the decorative Familiar Forest facilities shown in the image above.

All of the items you can get from this Shop are purely cosmetic and don’t contribute in any way to your Combat Power or individual stats.

If you enjoy the more casual less-competitive parts of NNK:CW (like farming crops and decorating your Familiar Forest) then remember that you can accelerate your crop-farming output using Garden Care.

Garden Care can be bought with 15 Sprout Coins. Upon usage, it allows you to instantly harvest your crops — no matter how much time is left until they can be harvested normally!

How To Farm Each Crop

All crops have a maturation period — a set amount of time until they can be harvested.

Generally, you’d want to go back to your Familiar Forest every 20 hours each time you plant new crops or empty an Apple Tree.

If you don’t have the necessary crops to buy the fields or trees you want, remember that you can exchange other crops for Sprout Coins.

You can then use those Sprout Coins to buy the crops you need to purchase any trees or fields you want to put in your Familiar Forest.

Farming Tomatoes

Tomatoes can be farmed from Tomato Fields, which you can purchase from the Sprout Coin Exchange Shop for 15 Tomatoes. Each harvest gives you three Tomatoes, and you’ll have to re-plant, till the land, and water the sprouts if you want them to grow nice and quick.

This process takes about 15 to 20 seconds per field.

Corn can be farmed much like Tomatoes. You can get them from Corn Fields, and you can buy Corn Fields at the Sprout Point Exchange Shop for 15 Corn.

You also get three Corn per harvest, and Corn Fields need replanting, tilling, and watering — just like Tomato Fields whenever you start another farming cycle.

Farming Apples

Apple Trees can be bought from the Sprout Coin Exchange Shop for 15 Apples. It is currently the only source of actual cooking ingredients (Fruits and Veggies) in the Familiar Forest.

Apples can be harvested by kicking an Apple Tree. One kick gives you one Apple, and you can kick an Apple Tree up to three times.

There is a chance that you’ll get Fruits and Veggies too — which is an ingredient that you can use for cooking dishes or feasts. This can happen every time you kick Apples out of an Apple Tree.
