There are four types of equipment in Champions of the Continent:

  • Weapons
  • Helmets
  • Armors
  • Accessories

All weapons and some accessories influence the amount of damage your units can deal to enemies, while armors, helmets, and most accessories mitigate the damage your units receive from enemy attacks.

Equipment pieces are divided into levels. The higher the level, the higher the stats they’ll be able to give your unit.

Although do note that your units cannot equip gears with a higher level than what your unit is leveled up to.

What is Equipment Used For?

Equipping a weapon, armor, helmet, plus accessories onto a unit boosts their defensive and offensive stats.

Doing this allows that specific unit to tackle more dangerous higher-level opponents.

In general, it’s better to keep the level of your equipment on par with your opponent’s level to keep your unit from struggling to deal damage or dying too quickly.

Armors 1
Helmets 1
Accessories 2

You also need to keep an eye on the equipment stats when choosing the best equipment for your units:

Stat What It Does
HP Determines the number of Hit Points your unit has. The higher it is, the more damage they can take before fainting.
SP Determines the number of Stamina Points your unit has. The higher it is, the more spells or skills your units will be able to execute.
P. Atk Determines the amount of damage you can deal with your normal attacks and physical-type skills.
P. Def Determines the amount of damage that you can mitigate before it is deducted from your total Hit Points.
M. Atk Determines the amount of damage your spells or element-based attacks can deal.
M. Def Determines the amount of resistance you have against element-based attacks and the amount of healing your unit can do.
Crit Determines the amount of damage that your units can deal with a critical attack.
Spd Determines how fast your unit can execute their turn in the Attack Phase.

TIP: Equipment pieces that provide you with HP or SP stat boosts are rare, so make sure to save them for units that’ll benefit the most from their bonuses.

Some equipment pieces also have added effects that provide your units with all kinds of buffs in addition to the stat boosts they give. Keep an eye out for those.

One of the most important things to consider when choosing equipment is the type of stat boosts they’ll provide, and the role of the unit you’re trying to gear up.

Here are the stats that I recommend you prioritize for each role:
