OSRS: What’s The Best Way To Get Hop Seeds?

The best way to get hop seeds is to buy them from Olivia in Draynor Market. When you buy out the stock, you can then hop worlds and repeat. This method isn’t very expensive and yields a high number of hops seeds per hour.

Alternatively, pickpocketing the Master Farmer is a good way to get hops; it’s slower than getting them via Olivia but it’s more efficient.

Pickpocketing also means you get Thieving experience, you don’t lose money, and you get other seeds at the same time.

Method 1: Buying from Olivia in Draynor Market

Olivia sells the following hops seeds in the Draynor Seed Market in Draynor Village:

  • 20 Barley seeds
  • 5 Jute seeds
  • 20 Hammerstone seeds
  • 10 Asgarnian seeds
  • 5 Yanillian seeds

The price of the seeds ranges from 2 to 6 coins, so overall they’re very cheap.

Remember that Olivia won’t let you trade with her if you’ve been stealing seeds from her stall within the past 15 minutes, regardless of which world you were stealing from.

Method 2: Pickpocketing Master Farmers

At level 38 Thieving, you can pickpocket from Master Farmers for a variety of seeds, including hops seeds.

Master Farmers can be found at the following locations:

  • The Farming Guild (3 Master Farmers)
  • North of the centre of Hosidius (2 Master Farmers)
  • Draynor Village (1 Master Farmer)
  • North of East Ardougne (1 Master Farmer)
  • South of Varrock (1 Master Farmer)

In general, you have a high chance of getting hops seeds from Master Farmers, though this method isn’t as fast as buying them from Olivia’s shop in Draynor.

But sometimes players prefer pickpocketing Master Farmers since this method is also a passive way of getting other very useful seeds — namely herb seeds.

Why Do Ironmen Need Hops Seeds?

Bird house trapping is one of the best and most efficient ways to get Hunter experience, as well as birds’ nests and tree seeds.

The Hunter activity is on Fossil Island and can be repeated approximately every 50 minutes. You need to take a hammer and a chisel with you for this.

Each bird house requires:

  • One set of logs
  • A clockwork
  • And then you need to fill it with 10 hops seeds

When you salvage the loot from the bird house, you get the clockwork back. So for each run you only need to take 4 logs (since there are 4 bird houses), a hammer, and a chisel with you.

Bird houses will drain your supply of hops seeds pretty quickly, which is why you’ll need a large supply of them as an ironman.

Trivia

Olivia from the Draynor Market can be seen in the Draynor Bank Robbery memory, where she’s teleported away by the Wise Old Man.
