How To Get TM02 Dragon Claw in Pokémon ORAS

Dragon Claw in battle (Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)

TM02 Dragon Claw is located on the ground deep inside Meteor Falls, which is a large cave west of Fallarbor Town. You need to have Surf and Waterfall to access the room containing the TM.

And since the HM for Waterfall is obtained by defeating the 8th Gym Leader, you won’t be able to explore the upper levels of the cave when you first arrive in Meteor Falls.

TM02 Location (Step-by-Step)

Before revisiting Meteor Falls to get your hands on the TM, make sure that you:

  1. Defeat Wallace, the 8th Gym Leader, to get HM05 Waterfall and the ability to use it outside of combat
  2. Bring a Pokémon that knows both Surf and Waterfall

Tip: To escape immediately after exploring Meteor Falls, you can bring a Pokémon with Dig or an Escape Rope.

Type Dragon
Category Physical
Power 80
Accuracy 100
PP 15

With a base power of 80 and an accuracy of 100, Dragon Claw remains one of the most commonly used Dragon-type moves. It’s a solid move that can be learned by both Dragon and non-Dragon-type Pokémon.

Dragon Claw also doesn’t have the downsides of other physical Dragon-type moves.

For example, unlike Dragon Rush, it has perfect accuracy. And unlike Outrage, it doesn’t have any negative secondary effects.

It does, however, have less power than both of those moves.

Tip: Since Dragon-type Pokémon are weak against Dragon-type moves themselves, you can let a non-Dragon-type Pokémon learn Dragon Claw to provide it some good coverage against common threats like Garchomp or Salamence.
