While superpowered mummies are cool to watch, it was the idea of discovering Egyptian treasures and secrets that piqued my childish curiosity.
More than 5,000 years have passed since this once-glorious civilization emerged. And its legacy continues to amaze – in real life and in the world of The Sims.
Let’s dive into the realm of the Ancient Egyptians with some incredible custom content for TS4.
1. Trip to Egypt Mod
Have you always wanted to go to Egypt, but work and debt gets in the way all the time?
If the answer is “yes”, then I give you this free Trip to Egypt mod.
With this mod, StrangerVille is transformed into a modern-day Egyptian-inspired world.
Do pharaohs roam around the streets? No.
Is the redesign immersive and worth the download? Absolutely.
Words won’t do justice to NANDO’s effort on this mod, so why not see it for yourself?
I promise there aren’t any stray mummies that’ll curse you for all eternity.
2. Ancient Pyramid
It’s crazy to think that we have one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing.
The Temple of Artemis, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and other have long been reduced to ruins. But the Great Pyramid of Giza just ain’t going anywhere, thanks to the innovative Egyptians – or aliens or whatever.
Well regardless of what you believe, it won’t change the fact that Egyptian pyramids are precious archeological wonders. So why not have your own in The Sims 4?
Plant a whole excavation site and a thousand-year-old pyramid in your Sim’s backyard, just by downloading this CC!
3. Egyptian Stuff Set
Ancient Egyptians loved their stones so much that everything was mainly built with this material – and thanks to their deities, they built a lot of stuff.
Because of this durable material, the foundations of structures in Egypt’s ancient sites remain intact.
Like in the case of the Karnak Temple Complex, which is the basic inspiration for this CC set.
Despite being in a state of decay, the temples and columns of Karnak still fascinate travelers from all over the world.
And now your Sim has the ability to add this stuff onto their own lots, whether they live in the city or somewhere rural, or somewhere inbetween.
4. Mummy
Due to being traumatized by Imhotep’s mummification in The Mummy, it took me a while to realize that getting eaten by bugs and being buried alive weren’t traditionally practiced.
However, they did get one thing right – mummified looks are far from pretty.
While preservation is the main objective of mummification, don’t expect you’ll be selfie-ready once those bandages are unwrapped.
Take a look for yourself by downloading this Mummy CC character!
It’s technically still a work in progress, but it’s just a deco item so it shouldn’t be too crazy.
5. Isis Set
You think the Greek pantheon is huge?
Wait until you meet its Egyptian counterpart – it has over 2,000 deities!
Egyptians have gods for everything, even toilets and sanitation. But some stand above the rest – like other large pantheons.
Isis or Aset is one of the major goddesses known for her great magic, and dedication to revive her husband-slash-brother, Osiris, the god of the dead and resurrection.
She’s also the inspiration for Rihanna’s famous underboob tattoo.
If you want to channel this goddess’s mighty influence, then download this stunning Isis set created by Natalia-Auditore.
6. Anubis Outfit
The afterlife means a great deal to the ancient Egyptians (hence, the mummification).
So it’s no surprise they highly worshiped the god of death.
Compared to the everyone-hates-Hades trope, Anubis was greatly revered for his role in ushering souls into the afterlife and deciding their fate.
If Anubis finds your soul not worthy, then you’ll be fed to Ammit, who had the head of a crocodile.
And let’s be honest: getting your soul eaten and erased by a crocodile is not the best way to go, right?
Become the powerful Guardian of the Scales with this incredible Anubis costume – it even works with just the base game too.
7. Ra Outfit
Summertime can be a literal pain, but we owe much of our survival to the sun.
That’s why it’s a no-brainer that Ra, the god of the sun, was one of the most worshipped deities in ancient Egypt.
It’s also believed that he created the world and was the source of all life.
That’s a tough gig for anyone… but someone had to create reality as we know it.
Before we get too philosophical, be sure to check out this epic Ra ensemble, befitting an all-powerful god!
8. Egypt Eyeliner
Makeup has been around longer than Rome.
And we have ancient Egyptians to thank for innovating it.
Aside from body, hair, and skincare, eye makeup was also popular in 3000 BC. Especially among royalty and nobles.
One of their most recognizable cosmetic habits was their use of black kohl to create the signature almond-shaped eyeliner.
And now you can give your Sims a makeover in Ancient Egyptian style with this custom eyeliner CC
9. Ade-Katy
Although you don’t have to be a queen to get a Cleopatra cut, it’s a difficult hairstyle to pull off.
Heck, even Madonna couldn’t make it work.
Unless you look like Elizabeth Taylor, it’s a gamble to try to be like the Queen of Egypt.
Good thing your Sims can shapeshift constantly, and can easily adjust to this custom hairstyle by simmer Ade_Darma.
10. Egyptian Dress
Ancient Egyptian reliefs clearly show that our ancestors were high-key fashionistas.
Royals and nobles were all about elaborate gowns, gold jewelry, and bedazzled wigs. It’s in all their artwork!
How we ended up preferring sweatpants and hoodies, I can’t say, but it seems like a real shame.
So let’s bring an ancient style back to life with this custom Egyptian-themed dress by TatyanaName.
