Cotton seeds can only be bought from the Raccoon Inc. store in Loneberg.

Once acquired, these seeds can be planted in the field to grow cotton fiber, which is then used to complete a number of requirements and upgrades in the game.

In order to reach Loneberg, you need to first get the Icebreaker Ship Upgrade. This upgrade requires:

  • 10 iron ingots
  • 12 oak planks
  • 18 linen fabrics
  • 1 spirit flower
  • 5 slates
  • 800 glims

The only requirement you need to reach Loneberg is the Icebreaker Upgrade.

You can find this upgrade in Albert’s Shipyard, at the coordinates X: 61, Y: 64.

Upon arriving, head on over to the boat improvements section of the upgrade menu, and you’ll find the Icebreaker as the second upgrade.

Fortunately the upgrade that’s needed beforehand is an easy one to get, and here’s what you need:

Boat Upgrade Function Cost
Mailbox Receive important mail on the ship
  • 8 maple planks
  • 8 linen threads
  • 4 lightnings in a bottle
  • 250 glims
Icebreaker Break through ice barriers
  • 10 iron ingots
  • 12 oak planks
  • 18 linen fabrics

After getting the mailbox, proceed with the materials for the icebreaker upgrade.

Getting the Linen Fabrics

Let’s start with the linen thread. First, you’ll need a Field to plant seeds, and building one requires:

Field Guide
Item Where To Get It
15 Maple Logs Cut from trees in:

  • Mosstein Cove (X: 78, Y: 130)
  • Barkensheim Creek (X: 5, Y: 117)
  • Greenhalten Bay (X: -8, Y: 75)
3 Limestones Mined from the nodes in:

  • Mosstein Cove (X: 78, Y: 130)
  • Iwashima Countryside (X: -64, Y: 16)

Once you have the field, get yourself some linen seeds, which can be purchased for 70 Glims at the Raccoon Inc. stores in:

  • Hummingberg (X: 39, Y: 139)
  • Furogawa (X: -150, Y: 67)

After buying them, plant the seeds in any of the field plots. Make sure you water the seeds whenever the water drop logo appears.

Alternatively, playing the guitar (a mini-game where you press the right notes) can speed up the growing process.

These seeds will grow into linen fiber, which you can then harvest. After that, proceed with building the Loom.

To build the Loom you’ll need:

Loom Guide
Item/Upgrade Where To Get It
Hobbyist Blueprint Upgrade Bought from Albert’s Shipyard, unlocks additional buildings.

Needs:

  • 2 Maple Logs
  • 1 Limestone
  • 400 Glims
10 Maple Logs Cut from trees in:

  • Mosstein Cove (X: 78, Y: 130)
  • Barkensheim Creek (X: 5, Y: 117)
  • Greenhalten Bay (X: -8, Y: 75)
8 Quartz Mined from the Quartz Dragon introduced by Summer, found at:

  • X: -24, Y: 65
  • X: -172, Y: 45

Once built, head inside and input the linen fiber. You can put up to 70 pieces of the same item.

To play the weaving minigame, line up the loom by holding the action button until it lines up with the indicator. This will get you the maximum amount of linen thread.

These linen threads will then need to be turned into linen fabric, and you’ll need the upgraded loom for that.

That upgrade is found as a blueprint in a balcony atop Villa Maggiore, located in X: -58, Y: 117.

Once acquired, the materials for this upgrade include:

  • 10 maple planks
  • 18 linen threads
  • 8 bright jellies
  • 120 glims

Once the improvement is in place, do the same minigame but use the linen threads this time. This will result in linen fabric, and repeat until you get the right amount.

Note: You can check out our guide on building the loom for a more thorough explanation.

Getting the Oak Planks

  • 400 Glims
14 Maple Logs Cut from trees in:

  • Hummingberg (X: 39, Y: 139)
  • Furogawa (X: -150, Y: 67)

Once the sawmill is built, take some oak logs (see the Foundry Guide section for oak log locations) and take them inside.

Choose the number of logs you want to cut, and start the mini-game. Once the logs start moving, trace the yellow lines with the red indicator to get the maximum amount of oak planks.

You’ll also get sawdust from each log you cut.

Note: Our guide on how to use the sawmill provides a complete breakdown of this section.

Then walk right to find the Raccoon Inc. store and buy yourself some cotton seeds for 150 Glims each.

You can then plant these seeds to grow cotton fiber, which can be woven in the loom to make cotton thread.

Additionally, you can also find Giovanni the spirit in Loneberg, as well as a blueprint chest and recipe for Beef Fondue.
