Summoners War: What Does Accuracy Do?

In Summoners War, Accuracy is weighed against the target’s Resistance to determine the chance of a debuff being applied. It might sound complicated, but the formula is pretty simple.

Resistance – Accuracy = Chance of Resisting

There’s some things to keep in mind, though.

  • Even if your monster has 100% Accuracy, there’s still a 15% chance of the debuff being Resisted.
  • There’s no point in having 100% Accuracy.
  • Not every debuff has a 100% chance to land.
  • Accuracy is only found on slot 6 as a main stat.
  • Accuracy is important, but it’s better to get it through substats.

What Does Accuracy Do?

As mentioned above, Accuracy determines the chance of a debuff landing.

See, every monster in the game has Resistance. This number is used by the game to figure out what the chance of a debuff landing is.

For example, my Poseidon (Water Sea Emperor) has 94% Accuracy.

Poseidon’s third skill, Maelstrom, reduces the Attack Speed of all enemies, and decreases their Attack Bar to 0.

Maelstrom has a 100% activation rate / Summoners War
Maelstrom has a 100% activation rate. Not all skills do!

If he were to attack an enemy that has 100% Resistance, the equation mentioned above can be used to figure out the chance of the debuffs landing.

Resistance – Accuracy = Chance of Resisting
100% – 94 % = 6%

So the enemy would have a 6% chance of Resisting Maelstrom’s debuffs. However, the chance of a monster Resisting never goes below 15%.

This means that the enemy would still always have a 15% chance of Resisting the debuffs. Because of this, there’s no point in going above 85% Accuracy.

Not all skills have a 100% activation rate, though.

For example, Loren’s 1st skill only has a 30% chance of lowering the target’s Attack Speed.

Loren’s 1st skill hits 3 times, but ignore that for now / Summoners War
Loren’s 1st skill hits 3 times, but ignore that for now

This means that before the game calculates the chance of the debuff landing, it decides whether or not the debuff “activates”.

If the Attack Speed slow activates, then the game decides whether or not the debuff lands.

What Do You Need Accuracy For?

Accuracy is an important stat. You’ll need it for both PvE and PvP.

Getting a team capable of farming Giants B10 (GB10) is one of the first goals a new player should have. One of the most popular units used is Mellia (Wind Dryad).

She’s a common recommendation because she can be fused, needs no skillups, and is also the most-used unit in GB12.

Mellia, Sath, and Tatu all kill the boss through use of DoTs / Summoners War

Mellia’s passive applies Damage over Time (DoT) every time she attacks. The activation rate is 100%, but she still needs Accuracy, or the boss will resist the DoTs.

In PvP, Accuracy is mainly used by “strippers” (units with an AoE attack that removes buffs) in cleave teams.

Common strippers include Chiwu (Fire Pioneer), Praha (Water Oracle), and Juno (Fire Oracle).
