Out of everyone in team Taka, Suigetsu is definitely the most underrated member in terms of power.

Does anyone even know how powerful this guy is?

And more importantly, do we really know which anime characters could absolutely destroy him?

Well that’s what we’ll try to answer today as we rank a handful of characters stronger than Suigetsu Hozuki.

5. Joutarou Kuujo

Joutarou Kuujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

Unless we’re placing this fight right next to a huge body of water, I think Suigetsu gets stomped.

Although Suigetsu has shown decent mobility and strength feats (like destroying boulders with his sword) I don’t think he could realistically keep up with Star Platinum.

His water bullets would never actually land on Joutarou, as we know he can catch real bullets at point blank – plus Star Platinum’s punches carry enough force to blow away any attempt at drowning Joutarou.

And that’s even without mentioning that Star Platinum could just drink Suigetsu if he really had to.

Plus, you know, he can kind of just stop time and muda muda Suigetsu without even giving him the chance to turn into water.

However, if they were fighting on a lake or something, Suigetsu would have the upper hand.

4. Kai Chisaki

Kai Chisaki from My Hero Academia

Anime: My Hero Academia

This fight would heavily depend on what the two characters knew about one another.

If they were both fully aware of the other’s powers, the fight could go either way.

But in a blind matchup, Suigetsu gets bodied.

I say that because Suigetsu really likes to present openings to his opponents, and then turn his body into water so the enemy phases through him and ends up wide-open for a counter attack.

However, Chisaki doesn’t really have to punch his flesh to one shot him.

Even though it’s just water, it still is Suigetsu’s body. And it is connected to him.

So Chisaki would likely still be able to just activate his Quirk and dismember Suigetsu on a molecular level.

3. Ban

Ban from The Seven Deadly Sins

Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins

Post-Purgatory Ban is kind of an overkill, so I’m just talking about series introduction Ban here.

First, to get the obvious out of the way: Ban is immortal, and therefore automatically wins the tenacity category.

In terms of speed and strength, I think the two are more or less comparable.

But it’s their abilities that really sway the battle.

Although Suigetsu would initially have the upper hand, simply avoiding every one of Ban’s attack, the tides would quickly turn as Ban drained all of his energy.

We saw in Suigetsu’s fight with Kisame that our water warrior can get drained pretty quickly – and may only notice it once the damage is already done.

And once he’s out of chakra, it’s GG.

2. Leopold Vermillion

Leopold Vermillion from Black Clover

Anime: Black Clover

Usually water beats fire. But when the discrepancy in destructive power is this large, the tides quickly turn – pun intended.

From his fight with Killer Bee, we know that Suigetsu can tank a huge blast if there’s enough water around him to soften the blow.

However, Leopold can dish out so much heat that any nearby water would likely just evaporate.

The attack he uses in his fight against the Dark Disciple is akin to a literal airstrike, even though he had been spamming skills for quite some time and was harshly injured.

So he could easily use half of his mana pool to get rid of any water in the vicinity, and then use the other half to just nuke Suigetsu like there was no tomorrow.

1. Killua Zoldyck

Killua Zoldyck from Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Anime: Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Although Killua wouldn’t be able to do much while in his base form, with Godspeed activated, he would simply destroy Suigetsu.

We already know that Suigetsu is weak to electricity, and will even get stunned for a bit when shocked. So Kilua’s kit counters him completely.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, his speed is way beyond anything Suigetsu could handle.

So the odds of him mitigating all of Killua’s normal attacks is also rather low.

Sure, Killua couldn’t really one-shot him as he usually does. But he could inflict fatal damage if given a minute or two.
