Naruto is known for a lot of things:
Amazing battles, ridiculous fillers, complex villains who needed a good talking to, etc.
One thing it’s not known for is its cast of female characters.
Kishimoto just doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to female characters, and I think he is pretty aware of that.
However, that’s not to say that there aren’t some waifu material characters in Naruto. And we’ll be ranking the best-of-the-best that this series has to offer.
10. Sakurana Haruno
Sure, we all love to joke about how Sakura is as useful as a scuba suit in the desert.
But she does have some good qualities.
If we look over to Boruto and observe Sakura as a wife and a mother, she’s honestly rather amazing.
I don’t know a single person who would have the same level of patience as Sakura. Sasuke is literally never home, and almost killed his own daughter, and Sakura still puts up with him out of love!
She has also come a long way since the days of telling orphans how parents suck in terms of sympathy.
Plus, you cannot deny that she’s kind of cute. Not the best ninja out there, but a really decent waifu.
9. Karin
This is another pick that might not be for everyone, but hear me out.
She has also matured quite a bit since Shippuden, going from “Sasuke is love, Sasuke is life” to literally helping Sakura deliver her baby because she just wants the best for both of them.
And in case that’s not enough for you, just remember that you get some stamina whenever you bite her.
This is a “Christian blog” so I’m not going to explain why that’s good, but you can probably figure it out.
8. Kurenai Yuhi
Sure, she might not be the smartest ninja of the bunch, trying to put Itachi under genjutsu and all that.
But you cannot disrespect her game!
She landed Asuma, after all. And if you don’t think that Asuma is S-class husbando material then you’re out of your mind.
She’s very compassionate, and if we’re just being blunt, she’s extremely good looking.
Plus she’s also the only real genjutsu user on this list – so she can literally make you see things you have never seen before.
7. Anko Mitarashi
If we just agree to forget that Boruto ever existed, Anko is a straight-up S-class waifu.
She’s extremely badass, independent, unique, and wears those fish-nets like it was her job.
But since she does get nerfed pretty heavily later on in the series, I can’t put her all that high up.
It’s not even that she just looks different now, but more so that she lost the badass quality that made her stick out before.
Rest in peace hot Anko, you will be forever remembered through this list.
6. Mei Terumi
We don’t kink shame, so I cannot deny the absolute cougar energy that Mei has.
Not only is she extremely hot, both figuratively and literally, but she also has that radiating confidence that can drive a man insane.
She’s a Kage, after all. And being a Kage guarantees not only confidence but also power.
I’ll be honest: it might feel somewhat nice to have a waifu that can both love you and protect you by spewing lava onto your enemies. That might just be me, but I’m sticking to it.
5. Konan
Konan is just extremely cool.
Not only does she get some badass points for being near the top of the Akatsuki, but she has also shown herself to be quite resourceful.
You know that she would slap you back into reality if you started going down a dark path. Or she would just blow up whoever’s influencing you.
She looks like a literal angel, but also doesn’t need any protection, and would be the sticky note queen of shopping lists and reminders.
Just be careful for papercuts.
4. Kushina Uzumaki
Kushina has the two sides every S-tier waifu should have: burning fury and love.
On the one hand, she’s the Red Hot-Blooded Habanero and will absolutely whack you with a frying pan if you start mouthing off.
But on the other hand, she’s among the most kind-hearted and nurturing parental figures we see in the entire show.
She’s the type of waifu that would just make you feel loved every second you were alive, even as she whacked you over the head.
3. Temari Nara
Temari and Shikamaru were my all-time favorite couple in the Naruto universe.
Shikamaru’s laid-back brilliance just mixed so well with Temari’s hot-blooded temper and no BS attitude.
She’s the type of person that would always call you out if you were going down the right path, but never to belittle you, but rather to help you achieve your maximum potential.
Sure, she gets quite temperamental. Especially when it comes to her cooking.
But we stand a baddie so that’s hardly a negative.
2. Hinata Hyuga
There would be no depression in the world if there were more people like Hinata.
She’s the most supportive and uplifting person that has ever graced the anime community, and would make for a perfect waifu.
She’s extremely shy, but in a cute way. And the fact that she’s so selfless and cares about everyone just makes her beyond lovable.
And once she gets over the shyness and puts the mom pants on, she’s just as nurturing and beloved as she was before. Easily an S-tier.
1. Tsunade
I was torn between Tsunade and Hinata when it came to the number one spot. But I had to go with my Hokage girl just for the fun factor.
We saw in Tsunade’s backstory that she’s more than capable of being the loving waifu we saw in Hinata.
However, she’s also a lot more fun.
From drinking parties to arm-wrestling competitions and late night karaoke, you would never be bored while Tsunade was around.
She can be extremely serious and mature when she needs to be.
But she can also lay back with the boys and have some fun during times of peace, which is the dream.
