The show’s plot is primarily about the horrors of war, which generally includes politicians being, well, politicians. They make decisions that hurt the characters we love, and we can’t help but wonder if violence is the only way.
I’ll give you a way to prove whether you can actually do it better or not:
A nice game of Stellaris with a couple of Gundam mods.
Conquering the stars is the objective of many factions in Gundam’s history. And with this list you’ll be able to lead them to victory in Stellaris.
1. Gundam Music Mix
Music plays a vital role in getting us in the right mood, and keeping us immersed in a game as detailed and drawn-out as Stellaris.
We can use that to our advantage by replacing Andreas Waldetoft’s original Stellaris score with a collection of outstanding tracks from across the Gundam series, including Gundam Unicorn, Gundam 00, and Gundam: IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS.
Creator SigurdHackett recently updated it to include some fantastic tracks from the 2021 MSG: Hathaway film.
Background music adds color to your space adventure. With this mod, it’ll be Gundam-colored.
2. Gundam Flags
The second thing you can do to give Stellaris a nice Gundam makeover is changing your civilization emblems to these Gundam Flags by Type76.
It’s not just the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon from the first Gundam animated series.
This mod also features the emblems of the Earth Alliance (OMNI) from Gundam SEED, the Tekkadan from IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS, and a couple others.
A flag is more than just cloth and ink (or a bunch of pixels). It’s the symbol of a nation!
It’ll make you feel as if the fate of your favorite Gundam characters rests in your hands.
3. Mobile Suit Gundam Species
Once you have your nation’s symbol, it’s time to put together a crew – and this mod by Samuza will give you access to the brightest minds in the history of Gundam.
It’s not just the brightest minds, either – it’s almost every character featured in the extensive catalog of Gundam anime, excluding only the more unusual series like IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS and Gundam Build Fighters.
You’ll be getting the staggering number of 787 male and 368 female portraits for your citizens, including Legends like Amuro Ray, Char Aznable, and Loran Cehack.
MS Gundam Species also features 46 national flags and a whopping 66 new background options based on locations from the show. This is a very complete non-invasive way to Gundam-ify your game.
4. Mobile Suit Gundam Ships
Mobile Suit warfare is the whole point of the Gundam series, but they’re not alone on the battlefield – especially in space.
This fantastic mod by Not Paladin introduces 22 new Gundam spaceships – the kind that carries hundreds of Mobile Suits into battle and fires flashy lasers only to get destroyed by Char Aznable in a matter of seconds.
These ships are all from the Universal Century timeline and include iconic powerhouses like Zeon’s Chivvay-class Heavy Cruiser and the Earth Federation’s Magellan-class battleship.
5. Mobile Suit Gundam: Stellaris
My absolute favorite MSG mod for Stellaris is a beefy overhaul that’ll let you jump right into the Universal Century as the leader of your favorite faction.
This massive add-on includes Gundam flags, portraits, races, and many new assets belonging to the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation.
More importantly, it introduces Mobile Suits to the universe – with over 140 related technologies that’ll unlock powerful weapons and utilities.
Of course, you’ll also get the ships needed to carry your Mobile Suits into battle and provide ballistic support.
MSG: Stellaris is a one-stop mod that’ll make Stellaris into a bonafide Gundam title.
