Where Do You Get Yellow Mountain Flowers in Skyrim?

You can find lots of Yellow Mountain Flowers in Ancestor Glade, located east of Falkreath. This cave is the best area in the game where these flowers spawn in huge numbers, with an in-game respawn time of 10 days.

There are also 2 flowers in Castle Volkihar’s courtyard after you finish the main quest of the Dawnguard questline.

These yellow flowers were added by the Dawnguard DLC, and they have the alchemical effects of Resist Poison, Fortify Restoration, Fortify Health, and Damage Stamina Regen.

How To Get To Ancestor Glade

The Ancestor Glade is a new location that was added in the Dawnguard DLC.

This area contains a lot of alchemy ingredients, such as Hanging Moss, Dragon’s Tongue, Red and Blue Mountain Flowers, and of course, the Yellow Mountain Flower.

You’ll be able to harvest 27 Yellow Mountain Flowers inside Ancestor Glade. But if you have Skyrim Special Edition installed, then you can find 55 flowers here.

Ancestor Glade’s entrance is high up in the mountains.

To get here, you’ll need to head to Pinewatch – east of the city of Falkreath.

Then go south of Pinewatch to find a bandit camp near a waterfall.

If you follow the winding path to the right of this camp, it will lead to the snowy mountains and into Ancestor Glade.

Inside Ancestor Glade

If you haven’t started the quest “Unseen Visions”, you’ll run into 3 Spriggan Earth Mothers in the initial cavern – and they’re pretty strong!

They’re always level 30 regardless of your own level, and can kill you in one hit if you are under-leveled, especially if you don’t have decent gear.

Either bring a follower to tank the damage, or just try to run past them to the main area of the cave.

Once you get past the Spriggan Earth Mothers, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most beautiful places in Skyrim – the Ancestor Glade.

There are no enemies here, and you can pick the Yellow Mountain Flowers and other various ingredients (such as Blue and Red Mountain flowers) at your own leisure.

These ingredients will be scattered all around the cave, so definitely take your time looking around to see what you can find.

For Yellow Mountain Flowers, these are mostly found along the path leading to the hot springs below. And many samples can be found surrounding the rock formation in the middle of the Glade.

A path with stone steps can also be to the left of the waterfall, and if you follow this path it’ll lead to more Yellow Mountain Flowers.

With one trip, you should find a total of 27 Yellow Mountain Flowers scattered in Ancestor Glade (or 55 total with Skyrim Special Edition).

The flowers are easy to find too, since they’re mostly in the central part of the area and along nearby dirt paths.
