While it might not be one of the most sought-after perks, Dark Sense is worth using.

This general perk is useful for players who want to keep tabs on the killer’s location throughout the match. Each generator repaired will allow the survivor using this perk to see the aura of the killer for a short period of time.

To use this perk effectively, it’s worth knowing exactly how and when it works. That way, you can strategize using Dark Sense to your advantage in each match.

What Does The Dark Sense Perk Do?

Dark Sense rewards the progress of the survivors by allowing them to see where the killer is located.

With this perk in your arsenal, you will be able to see the aura of the killer every time a generator has been completely repaired. This applies to generators fixed by any survivor in the match, not just generators that you personally fix.

If a generator has been completed and the killer is within 24 metres of you, their aura will show up immediately for up to 10 seconds.

However, if the killer is beyond that range when a generator is completed, you won’t see the killer until the next time you are within 24 metres of them.

When you want to keep tabs on the killer and avoid being caught by them when they are close to you, Dark Sense is a solid perk to add to your loadout.

When Doesn’t Dark Sense Work?

There is only one situation in which Dark Sense won’t work:

Some killers have gained the ability to use the Undetectable status. There are powers, perks, and add-ons that can allow killers to use that status to be more stealthy.

When the Undetectable status is in effect, Dark Sense will not be able to portray their aura.

However, even killers with access to this effect can be spotted when they aren’t actively using it.

Many perks you’ll come across in Dead By Daylight are attached to a specific character.

However, Dark Sense isn’t one of those perks.

Dark Sense is what’s known as a general perk. That means it’s available to all survivors from the moment they start playing.

Because of that, you won’t need to do anything special to obtain the Dark Sense perk.

No matter which survivor you’re playing, Dark Sense can show up in your bloodweb at any time. There is no particular level you need to reach to unlock it.

Just cross your fingers and hope it shows up while you level your character!

Killer Perks Similar To Dark Sense

While Dark Sense allows survivors to see the killer every time a generator is fully repaired, the Bitter Murmur perk provides a similar benefit to the killer.

With Bitter Murmur, completed generators give the killer the opportunity to see the auras of any survivors that are near the completed generator for 5 seconds.

Additionally, the killer will be able to see all survivor auras for up to 10 seconds after the final generator has been completed.
