(Learn more).Clear Demimateria come in three tiers, and they’re mainly used as items to sell for gil. Higher tier versions are a bit harder to obtain, and since they’re harder to obtain, expect them to be more expensive.
You can sell these items to any merchant NPC in the game.
Here’s a quick look at how much you can get from selling your Clear Demimateria I-III:
Item | Sold For |
---|---|
Clear Demimateria I | 200 gil |
Clear Demimateria II | 1000 gil |
Clear Demimateria III | 5000 gil |
You can also donate any Clear Demimateria to the Shazenkai if you are still in the process of restoring the Doman Enclave.
How To Obtain Clear Demimateria
Method 1: Desynthesis
This is a feature in FFXIV that gives you the ability to break down items into smaller components. You can unlock this feature by doing the quest “Gone to Pieces” from Syntgoht in Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (X:14.0, Y:10.0).
This quest is available to any Disciple of the Hand class at level 30.
When desynthesizing items, you have a chance at obtaining Clear Demimateria. The tier of demimateria you obtain will depend on the item being desynthesized.
Method 2: Deep Dungeons
These are multi-floor instances where each level will have a random layout each time you run it. Going through these dungeons will give you a chance to obtain different types of Sacks that carry random items.
Each tier of Clear Demimateria is included in the pool of items that might be inside these sacks.
As of patch 6.2, there are 2 Deep Dungeons you can access in the game – Palace of the Dead and Heaven-on-High. A third Deep Dungeon called Eureka Orthos is planned for patch 6.35.
Method 3: Eureka
Eureka is an instanced map that is unlocked through the level 70 side quest “And We Shall Call it Eureka”.
You can accept this quest from Galiena in Rhalgr’s Reach (X:9.8, Y:12.5).
As you explore Eureka, you can complete FATEs that will reward you with lockboxes. Some of these lockboxes may contain Clear Demimateria.
