Well, maybe less so than any of our other articles about fan service… But when it comes to flirting up a storm, these are the anime characters you’re looking for.
They lay on the love, and lay it on thick.
And this is an all-inclusive list.
We’ve got a range of characters from human to animal, mythical beings to demons.
So let’s take a look at the most flirty anime characters that would likely send some cheesy one-liners your way.
15. Kon
Anime: Bleach
Being a stuffed animal doesn’t seem to take much away from Kon’s efforts to get close to the ladies of the Bleach world.
In fact, in some aspects, it actually helps him out!
On more than one occasion, he’s used his plushie charms to snag a snuggle from a character – before being unceremoniously booted against the nearest wall when they find out his intentions are not-so-innocent.
Still, using what you have to your advantage (even as a toy lion) is serious dedication to being a flirt.
Although most would argue he’s a little closer to being a lech than anything else!
14. Nora Valkyrie
Anime: RWBY
It can be hard to separate when a bubbly personality is just being friendly, vs when they’re flirting with you.
Thankfully, Nora Valkyrie isn’t too hard to discern as a flirt even through her boundless energy!
When she’s not talking the ear off her friends, Nora can be downright flirtatious in getting to know new people and in interacting with the ones she knows.
She doesn’t save it for anyone in particular – this girl just flirts with all comers.
Not that it’s a bad thing, of course – it’s a big part of what makes her character so likeable and fun.
Nora isn’t defined by being a flirt like some characters further down the list. But it does add to her character without getting in the way.
13. Ikuto Tsukiyomi
Anime: Shugo Chara!
Occasionally cat-eared but always cold and calculating, Ikuto thaws his icy exterior for just long enough to express his affections for his main squeeze – Amu.
He’s the teasing sort of flirty, too.
So he’s certainly not afraid to be the verbal equivalent of the boy who pulls a girl’s pigtails on the playground.
His alley cat antics don’t always rub off on others well, though. And he spends most of his time either slinking away after his latest effort goes poorly, or straight up sulking.
They mastered him being like a cat in pretty much every way, that’s what I’m getting at.
12. Zenitsu Agatsuma
Anime: Demon Slayer
Sometimes, being a flirt doesn’t quite come across the way you’d like it to with.
It happens to the best of us, but Zenitsu takes that to a whole new level.
In fact, not ten seconds after we’re first introduced to him, he’s mistaking the intentions of a traveling girl for someone who wants to marry him on the spot – and he has to be dragged away.
He’s just a child, he’ll learn to do better!
It’s true that his misguided attempts at finding someone to love might inspire a lot of revulsion in some characters in the show.
But honestly, I’ve got a little bit of sympathy for him.
When he grows up I’m sure he’ll need to be physically detached from his crushes much less often.
11. Jiraiya
Anime: Naruto
“Flirty” might be pushing it a little bit as a descriptor here.
Jiraiya is as much of a perv as they come.
From his bathhouse antics to his burgeoning career as an erotic novelist, everything the man does has some element of naughtiness involved.
The reason he’s on the list is simple: he’s so forward with his advances on women that it could almost be considered some sort of flirting speedrun attempt.
Skip all the boring stuff about “getting to know them” and take action!
Still, we do see him engage in some traditional flirtatiousness in the show. So while his place on this list might be a little dubious, we know that the Pervvy Sage definitely has it in him.
10. Panty
Anime: Panty and Stocking
Sometimes you get characters whose sole purpose is to embody one character trait above all else.
If you’re looking for someone who embodies that purely with flirting and bawdiness, look no further than Panty.
Her entire motivation can be summed up with the idea of “seduce all the good looking men you can find”.
And that’s not a bad thing – she’s got it, she flaunts it, and it works for her. So that’s what matters!
But if you’re looking for a flirty character, it doesn’t get more baseline flirtatious than Panty.
Her little black book must look like a full phonebook at this point.
9. Rangiku Matsumoto
Anime: Bleach
Rangiku is that rare sort of flirt that really doesn’t need to put too much effort into the actual actions of flirting – she just has to be herself, and for some reason men and women alike flock to her.
Actually, we probably know the reason. It’s for two reasons (and no, that’s not what I meant!)
The first is her carefree and not quite lazy attitude.
She’s a smart woman who knows how to get what she wants. And by letting the work come to her, she saves a lot of effort!
The second reason is definitely her feminine charms (again, no not like that).
When she needs something that won’t come to her, she’s not afraid to turn the charm on to make sure she’s happy. And yes, that includes large amounts of flirting.
8. Victor Nikiforov
Anime: Yuri!! On Ice
When someone has it all, it’s almost natural for that to go to their head at some point.
Like a rich man showing off to women in a flashy car, Victor Nikiforov shows off his skills on the ice, knowing full well it will get him attention.
Yes, self-confidence matters big time when you’re a serial flirt. And Victor has self-confidence by the bucket load.
His charm and good looks really only sweeten the deal, and they mean he’s the center of so much attention that it’s a wonder he has any time left to skate.
However, we all know the pairing that he wants – and he teases and flirts his way into getting it in that sort of cocky style that we know will melt away as soon as the chase is over.
7. Lust
Anime: Fullmetal Alchemist
I guess with this one the clue is in the name – so you know exactly what you’re getting up front!
While it might seem like the embodiment of Lust itself would be throwing itself all over everyone in sight, our Lust here is a far more subtle vixen.
She’s certainly not above using some flirtation to get what she wants. But her real game is inspiring the feeling in others.
Yes, it’s fulfilling her obligation to Father that keeps her moving down the path to making everyone desire each other – and where there’s desire, there’s bound to be more than a little flirting going on.
6. Haruko Haruhara
Anime: FLCL
Some people flirt for fun.
Some flirt for pleasure, or to try and woo a certain special someone.
Whereas others will use whatever methods they have, flirting included, to get closer to whatever it is that they want.
Haruko Harahura falls firmly into the third camp, using feminine wiles and charm to wrap whoever she pleases around her little finger – and then manipulate them into getting what she needs.
It’s her sheer dedication to the act that lands her onto this ranking, though.
At one stage in the anime’s run, she seduces not only a man, but the man’s father right in front of him.
It’s shameless, sure – but if it works it ain’t stupid.
5. Miroku
Anime: Inuyasha
This smooth-talking, not-so-smooth acting monk does very little abstinence – considering the fact that, you know, he’s a monk.
And it’s probably good he isn’t the reserved, sandal wearing type either. Given the impending bloodline curse he needs to cure and all.
Still, does that backstory excuse him being so forward with the women he meets?
Miroku might be a holy man – but that doesn’t mean he can’t wink at you from across the bar and slide over his phone number.
4. Sailor Venus
Anime: Sailor Moon
It should be of absolutely zero surprise or shock to anyone to discover that Venus, the Roman goddess, was the Goddess of Love.
Especially given how Sailor Venus acts throughout pretty much the entire run of Sailor Moon.
She’s flirty, she’s attractive, and she loves to give out advice on matters of the heart– if there was a character designed from the ground up to be the embodiment of showing love, it would be Sailor Venus!
It’s all far more innocent than it sounds, however.
Sailor Venus wants to find someone to settle down with, not just jump from one lover to the next.
But if you can’t have a little flirty fun along the way, what’s the point?
3. Loke
Anime: Fairy Tail
You don’t get yourself being labeled as “Wizard I’d Like To Be My Boyfriend” without putting yourself out there a bit.
And that’s exactly what Lothario Loke does whenever we see him in Fairy Tail.
In fact, it’s almost impossible to find a scene where Loke isn’t surrounded by women, or working his charms on one.
He has standards and morals though. For example, he can’t stand the idea of anyone abusing a woman. Which is a good thing.
Granted, he might be the only person ever to flirt with Ezra Scarlett and live…
If that’s not indicative of some sort of flirting based higher power, I don’t know what is.
2. Brock
Anime: Pokémon
Brock’s quest to woo the woman of his dreams had its pros and cons.
The biggest pro: most of the women he was attracted to had basically identical counterparts all over the region. So his odds of dating success go way up!
The cons?
Well, he’s a bit of a hopeless romantic, let’s put it that way.
He often finds himself on the receiving end of a stern “no”, or a sterner look from his traveling companions – and sometimes even from his Pokémon.
Did that deter him? Not even a little bit.
His mission to smooch (or marry) any Officer Jenny or Nurse Joy continues to this day.
And it’s the sort of adorably awkward attempt that makes it endearing every single time.
1. Sanji
Anime: One Piece
We can’t have a ranking full of wannabe Casanova’s without talking about Sanji, can we?
I mean, the man joined a pirate crew just to get close to a woman he had a crush on.
With that said, he was already a flirt, though. Like big time.
Royals tend to attract a lot of attention, strangely enough. So he only had to turn on the charms to get pretty much anything he needed from anyone.
And this is a man with some charm, needing to simply smile or wink in any direction to have women in a 10 mile radius swooning over him.
But now, all his charms are aimed at one woman, and one woman only – and I think you’ll agree that she likes the attention more than she would ever let him know.
