You need something with prestige and performance. A car that represents you as a person and tells the world you mean business.
In other words, you gotta have a Mercedes-Benz.
This German manufacturer has been in the business of high-performing luxury cars for almost a century, and its extensive catalog of iconic rides has something for everyone. So let’s check out some of the best Mercedes mods for Grand Theft Auto 5.
10. Mercedes-Benz 190E Evolution II (1990)
The Mercedes-Benz 190E was designed to compete with the BMW M3 – and as BMW kept improving the M3, so did Mercedes keep injecting the 190E with more power.
The Evolution II was the most potent version of the 190E – itself a high-performance variant of the W201 – powered by an AMG PowerPack-fitted 2.5L inline-four engine.
To make sure everyone knew the Evo II meant business, Mercedes outfitted it with a spicy body kid with a sizable rear wing and 17-inch wheels.
Not only did it contribute to aerodynamics, but it made the Evo II look radical despite the rest of the car having a decidedly lordly aesthetic.
9. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (2005)
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is what happens when two industry giants come together to create something new.
This grand tourer features a supercharged V8 engine crafted by hand by specialists at McLaren facilities in Woking, England. Thanks to its carbon-fiber reinforced plastic body, it’s relatively lightweight, allowing its 626hp power output to propel it from 0 to 100km/h in 3.3 seconds.
Its elongated shape and characteristic side-mounted exhausts give the SLR McLaren an unmistakable appeal that looks just as good in real life as in GTA 5.
For an even more attention-grabbing version, check out the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster.
8. Mercedes-Benz G-Class Mansory
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is precisely my kind of off-road car.
There’s something about its boxy angles and beefy build that makes it feel like a military vehicle – probably because it was designed as such in the 80s when the Shah of Iran was a Mercedes-Benz shareholder.
Nowadays, the G-Class is a favorite among wealthy business people and artists who want to project as much power as possible.
This Mansory-tuned version can help show off even more wealth with the perfect mixture of opulence and badassery.
7. Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR (1998)
One of Mercedes-Benz’s most unique sports cars is the CLK GTR introduced in 1997 as the company’s reaction to Porche’s 911.
The objective was to create a race car close enough to a street-legal vehicle to qualify for the 1997 FIA GT Championship.
The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR road version is powered by a 6.9L V12 engine with a power output of 604hp and can reach a top speed of 344km/h.
This beautiful beast owes its unique shape to its experimental nature and fast-tracked development. It’s not polished, but it’s definitely memorable.
6. Mercedes-AMG GTR Hot Pursuit Police
Barely a trace of the CLK GTR is left on the Mercedes-AMG GT, introduced in 2014 as the successor to the beloved SLS AMG.
The design is much more polished and coherent with Mercedes-Benz’s characteristic attention to detail. Its forceful design marries perfectly with the authority of the police customization introduced by this mod.
With a top speed of 320km/h and an acceleration time of 0 to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds, the LSPD might actually be successful at catching a criminal for once.
Make sure to try it out with mods like LSPD: Dangerous Individuals.
5. Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing (1955)
Few cars are as iconic or have the timeless appeal of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL.
The visually striking design of this iconic sports car makes it perfect for someone who’s not afraid of being the center of attention driving down the street.
Driving one of these will make you look like a classic gangster with a taste for the finer things in life.
In real life, it would set you back over a million dollars. In GTA 5, you just have to download this mod.
4. Mercedes-AMG ONE (2021)
The Mercedes-AMG ONE is a mission statement for the future of the German company.
This limited-production sports car combines plug-in hybrid architecture with Formula One-derived technology to create the ultimate high-performance, low-emissions vehicle.
Its exterior design departs from what we expect from Mercedes-Benz due to its focus on aerodynamics. This helps it get the most of its 1,060hp power output.
Currently, the car serves as the cover for Forza Horizon 5.
In fact, that’s where the creator of this mod got the model, guaranteeing professional quality.
3. Mercedes-AMG Vision GT (2013)
I love concept cars that push the boundaries, and the Mercedes-AMG Vision GT does that and more.
This lovely car started its life as a digital concept, unveiled in 2013 in Gran Turismo 6. Its ultra-futuristic design takes much from the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the 300SL, F1 cars, and fantasy vehicles like the Batmobile.
Eventually, five real-life Vision GT were produced and sold in Europe, the USA, and the Middle East.
As one of the few cars to begin their lives in a video game, this GTA 5 mod is closer to the original than the five real-life versions. Take that, billionaires!
2. Mercedes-Benz Silver Lightning (2011)
If you think the Vision GT has a unique look, wait until you see the Silver Lightning.
Some of you might find this retro-futuristic beauty too cool to be true – and you’d be right. This concept car only exists as an exhibition piece, revealed in the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show along with an eponymous short film.
It draws inspiration from the 1937 Mercedes-Benz W125 and the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, as well as sci-fi movies like Star Trek and the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
Driving this car is only possible in video games like Asphalt Nitro and GTA 5 – a testament to the importance of digital worlds in our day and age.
1. Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series
We’ll return to the real world and close off our ranking with one of the most impressive cars in Mercedes-AMG’s Grand Tourer history: the Black Series.
Presented as a high-performance variant of the already beastly Mercedes-AMG GT, the Black Series beats the original by a wide margin with its 720hp power output and 325km/h top speed – a whole 14km/h higher than the entry-level model.
However, what I like the most about it has nothing to do with performance.
This car is simply too sexy to ignore.
I see it in my dreams, shiny and beautiful, with its carbon fiber body, inviting me to ride it and become the bad-ass I was always fated to be.
Thanks to this GTA 5 mod, I can take it up on its offer.
