Charizardite X in Pokémon Radical Red

Charizardite X
Location Upper floor of the lower gate connector on Route 16. Speak with the scientist NPC and show him a Charizard. Replaced with the Charizardite Y in hardcore mode.
Prerequisites
  • Access to Celadon City
  • Have a Charizard
  • Have the Poké Flute
Mega Evolution Mega Charizard

From outside of the Celadon City Pokémon Center, start by heading West.

Continue going West until you reach the far end of the city. Walk out of Celadon City and enter Route 16 by taking the path to the South-West.

Keep going West until you see the entrance to the connector leading to Bicycle Road. If a Snorlax is blocking the path then acquire and use the Poké Flute to wake him up first.

Inside the connector, take the stairs directly below you to go upstairs.

Speak with the scientist directly above you.

Show him a Charizard in your party to get the Charizardite X.

Note: If you’re playing in hardcore mode then you’ll get the Charizardite Y instead.

  • Found in the Route 13 grass (day and night)
  • You can give a red shard to the old man NPC in the Celadon City Pokémon Mansion’s ground floor for a random fire-type starter Pokémon’s egg.
