It doesn’t matter how big, or expensive, a farmhouse is; it’s always the beating heart of agricultural operations. No farm is complete without one.

It’s where a weary farmer can lay their head after a long, hard day in the fields; it’s a place to raise a family, so you can pass on all of your farming expertise to the next generation; it’s the central hub where you rest, relax, and plan your next move.

In Farming Simulator, your farmhouse is mainly going to be the place to advance time when it starts to get dark. Unless you don’t mind working through the night.

But that doesn’t mean that any old building will do.

Your farmhouse says a lot about you as a farmer, and will be crucial in the overall look and feel of your farm.

And, when it comes to farmhouses, there is no shortage of mods to choose from.

20. Caravan

Caravan / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: €1,000
Maintenance: €0.5 per day
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

There are plenty of first steps you can take on the property ladder, and there’s nothing wrong with a caravan. They’re relatively cheap, and they can easily be moved and placed wherever you like.

They’re a sensible choice for first-time farmers, who aren’t interested in grandiose mansions. That money could be much better spent on farming equipment!

This mod is not just for decoration either: the doors open, leading to a modest living space, which includes a bed.

19. Tent

Tent / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $2,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

If you’re intent on living the hard life and all you need is a place to lay your head, then this tent will do.

I mean, who really needs a shower?

For some strange reason, it’s twice the price of a caravan. But, there are no upkeep costs, so it will be cheaper than a caravan, eventually!

I don’t, honestly, see many farmers opting for these living arrangements. But, it’s a good mod if you want to add a touch of diversification to the farm – you can pretend field 12 is now a campsite!

But seeing as they don’t generate any income, you’ll have to imagine the money as well!

18. Trailer Farm Buildings Pack

Trailer Farm Buildings Pack / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Farmhouses: $5,000
Outbuildings: $500 – $5000
Silo Capacity: 5 million liters
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This is described as a “buildings pack for poor farmers”, and, I suppose, that could be true. But, I think they’re great for setting up realistic-looking mining operations.

The trailers can be used to build a realistic-looking mining camp, especially if paired with other mods like the container with vehicle workshop.

It comes with lots of cheap outbuildings, including a fruit silo that holds five-million litres. Okay, you’re not going to need that if you’re mining for gold, but some of the open sheds could be useful.

17. Old Farm Package

Old Farm Package / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Farmhouse Prices: €75,000 – €100,000
Shed Prices: €5,000 – €15,000
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This mod gives you a choice of three large farmhouses, and several sheds.

The farmhouses are mostly decorational, as there are no usable doors on the cheaper farmhouse. But, the other two have working garage doors where you can park some medium size vehicles.

Not as functional as some of the other available mods, but it might just be the look you are aiming for with your farm.

16. Scandinavian House

Scandinavian House / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $150,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

A bright red, Scandinavian-style, house.

No, you can’t go inside. And, no, it doesn’t come with the car. But, it does have wooden decking to the front and rear, and two sets of garden furniture.

Red might not be the first color that springs to mind when deciding what to paint your house, but it sure looks good!

15. Medium House

Medium House / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: €55,000
Maintenance: €25 per day
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

Described as “a contemporary medium sized house from Eastern Europe’, this property wouldn’t look amiss in any map.

Another house that you can’t get inside. But, the front door acts as the sleep trigger, and the bench outside functions as a wardrobe trigger…

It could be a good mod for pretending that your significant other is mad at you – why else would any self-respecting farmer be sleeping on their front step?

14. Farm House

Farm House / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: €70,000
Maintenance: €35 per day
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

I was really looking forward to going inside this house to check out the balcony. Alas, it’s not possible – it’s another house that is purely decorative.

Well, that’s not entirely true, as it does have a sleep function, which is maybe why it costs €35 a day in upkeep!

Maybe you left the stove on? It’s not like you can get inside to check! I suppose if you like realistic gameplay, you could pretend that it includes your energy bills for the year.

Suddenly, that tent doesn’t seem so ridiculous!

13. Hessian Farm

Hessian Farm / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: €100,000
Maintenance: €150 per day
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

No, it’s not Shakespeare’s family home. It’s just an awesome-looking farmhouse, with a massive footprint.

I like that the buildings form a small, semi-enclosed courtyard. It really comes to life with a few choice decorations, and when you let chickens wander around it.

You can’t go inside the farmhouse itself, but it does have a sleep trigger. And, all of the gates and barn doors work, so there’s plenty of space to store your machinery.

There’s also the option to add a multifruit silo, a cowshed, and a fermenter where you can convert chaff, grass, and hay into silage.

12. Log Cabin

Log Cabin / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $18,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This idyllic log cabin looks like something straight out of a Bob Ross painting – how’s that for a “happy little accident”.

It includes a quaint little outside toilet, and has a big wood-burning stove inside to stave off those cold winter nights on the farm. At least, I hope it’s a toilet – fertilizer belongs on the fields!

With such a low purchase price, and with zero maintenance costs, this mod certainly is as pretty as a picture.

11. Rustic Cabin

Rustic Cabin / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: £40,000
Maintenance: £0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

If you like the idea of a log cabin, but need at least a few mod-cons, then the Rustic Cabin is for you.

It has a sleep trigger in the bedroom, and a wardrobe trigger in the bathroom, which might encourage you to change your clothes more often. Seriously, how long have you been wearing that outfit!

The interior is much more homely, and includes a modest kitchen area, a couch, and a TV. It even has indoor lighting at the flick of a switch. Witchcraft!

10. Bavarian Farmhouse

Bavarian Farmhouse / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $230,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

As you can see, this large farmhouse looks great in maps with a European aesthetic, such as Haut-Beyleron, or Erlengrat.

It looks great from the outside, due to its rows of brown shutters, and flower boxes. You’re also able to go inside, and admire Bavarian decor at its finest.

Not only is there a sleep, and a wardrobe trigger, but all the lights and doors are also animated.

Now all you need to do is set up a Christmas Market nearby, and you can stagger home with a belly-full of sausages and beer after a hard day on the farm!

9. French Farm Buildings Pack

French Farm Buildings Pack / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $20,000-$40,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

Another farmhouse that suits European maps, particularly Haut-Beyleron.

You can’t enter this choice of three quaint little stone houses, but that’s probably a good thing, as there doesn’t look to be much room inside of them.

These rustic French buildings look really great at night when they’re all it up, and they’re available as decorative houses for only $500.

Tip: Buy the decorative version of the house, and place a Portable Sleep Trigger outside. It will operate exactly the same as a farmhouse (providing a sleep and a wardrobe trigger) but cost you only $500!

This pack includes three farmhouses, a stone fruit silo, a buying station, a stone outhouse, and drive-through stone sheds.

8. American Farmhouse

American Farmhouse / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $125,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This is a great farmhouse if you want to keep things simple.

Some of the houses that you can enter can be difficult to walk around, especially if they have stairs, which can really detract from the realism of the game.

This house does not have that problem. It has a great open plan structure, which is all on one floor. So, you won’t have to jump your way to the top of the stairs!

It also comes in a choice of two colors.

7. American Farm Buildings Pack

American Farm Buildings Pack / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $30,000 – $50,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This is a really great package that includes a choice of three large farmhouses with wrap-around porches.

They really look great surrounded by a large lawn enclosed with white picket fencing.

You can’t enter the houses, but they are included as decorative buildings so it could be another really cheap option for a great looking farmhouse, if paired with the Portable Sleep Trigger.

This package also includes a huge option of other buildings such as a multifruit silo, a workshop garage, a buying station, an old barn, several vehicle garages, and carports.

6. Small Modern House

Small Modern House / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $200,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

I like to use this farmhouse as a small base on some of the larger maps. A farmhouse away from home, if you will.

The high pitched roof with the wooden paneling looks really smart. And, the sleek, modern interior includes a modest kitchen, and a huge widescreen television with a corner sofa to watch it on.

There is also a PC set up in the main bedroom, so you can enjoy playing your favourite farming game at the end of a long day.

5. Farm House (Small + Large)

Farm House / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Large House: $120,000
Small House: $60,000
Maintenance: $0
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

If you’re a farmer who likes to make a statement, then this American-style farmhouse is the one for you.

This impressive pile of sticks would look great perched atop a hill overlooking your farm, especially in any of the American maps, like Westbridge Hills.

And, if you’re really digging the American aesthetic, hoist an American flag with the Nations Flags mod!

It’s one of the top downloaded mods on the Farming Simulator Modhub, which makes it a strong contender for the most popular farmhouse in FS22.

4. Farmhouse Loderer

Farmhouse Loderer / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: $134,800
Maintenance: $120 per day
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

If a farmer could design a house, this is what it would look like!

Based on a real farmhouse from 1820, it has a built-in barn where you can buy cattle, which are then delivered to the attached pasture out back.

All the lights and doors work, and the shutters open during the day, and close at night.

And, it has an accessible hayloft where you can store equipment or straw. Yes, this farmhouse has a ramp up to the hayloft!

It is let down slightly by lack of a sleep function, but this is easily remedied with the Portable Sleep Trigger mod mentioned earlier.

3. Medium Modern House

Medium Modern House / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: €85,000
Maintenance: €10 per day
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This is another modern, open-plan house set on one level.

It boasts a spacious modern interior, patio doors, and a stone path encircling the property with several flower beds.

There’s both a sleep trigger and a wardrobe trigger, and plenty of house plants to brighten the place up.

2. Farm House 10×8

Farm House 10x8 / FS22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

Price: €53,000
Maintenance: €17
Platform: PC/MAC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XBS

This compact little house would make a great little bachelor pad. It’s inexpensive, and it looks great.

You can kick your muddy boots off on the stone porch, and go inside and watch television whilst you eat your dinner. Then you can go upstairs and fire up the gaming rig in your open-plan bedroom.

There’s a sleep trigger, a wardrobe function, and an attached garage for housing some of your smaller machinery.

The garage door also comes in a range of nineteen different colors.

1. Alpine Farm House

Alpine Farm House / Farming Simulator 22 Mod

Check Out This Mod

This is, by far, my favorite house in the game.

It costs a mere fifty-thousand dollars, but includes a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, an office, three bedrooms, and an accessible balcony. All of which look amazing.

The lights and doors are all animated, and the sleep trigger is accessible throughout the house. There’s also a wardrobe trigger in the master bedroom.

What really sets this mod apart though, is the fact that you can let it out as a holiday home, and make $9,600 a month. You can more than double your money in one year.

Now, that’s what I call an investment!

Note: This is not to be confused with the Alpine Farmhouse mod, which is an awesome-looking house in its own right and well worth checking out.
