Even though The Sims 4 is a life simulator, it leaves out a big part of real-life: birthmarks.

Millions of people worldwide have birthmarks in all different sizes, shapes, and colors. Yet as advanced as CAS is, they’re left out!

Now, that could just be because there are so many.

No two birthmarks are exactly the same, so it’s pretty difficult to include everybody.

Any diversity is fun to include in The Sims 4, though. The options to tweak every little part of your Sims are already more expansive than ever, but skin detail CC will get you as close to creating real people as you’ll ever get.

With these birthmarks you can bring some authentic humanity to your game, and there is plenty to choose from.

Here are 12 birthmarks in this CC set to really flesh out your skin detail options.

There’s a pun in there somewhere… you know, flesh and birthmarks… but I’ll let you suss it out.

When it comes to making your Sims less plain and more cute, you no longer have to choose from just freckles and tiny moles.

The shapes and shades available here are as varied as in real life.

You can choose birthmarks for your Sim’s face, body, or both. These are actually categorized as tattoos as well as skin details, so you can have more than one!

There’s no need to fret about whether you’d rather have a birthmark on your Sim’s cheek or their leg, it’s entirely possible to have both.

The very name implies that most people have had their birthmarks since they were born.

But in The Sims 4, even most CC is dedicated to adults.

Not these birthmarks.

They’re available for all ages, so your Sim’s birthmark can age with them.

You’ll still have to go into CAS and apply it after each birthday like some strange plastic surgery tradition, but that’s just the way of the game.

Seriously, how bizarre is it that skin details aren’t locked on like hair and eye color so it’ll always be consistent.

Quite bizarre, I think.

But oh well.

It’s a small price to pay since the skin details are already pretty good, and these are just as awesome.

Strawberry Birthmarks

Strawberry birthmarks are some of the most noticeable types, but that’s not a bad thing.

Many people decide to never cover the red marks and even wear them like badges of honor – as they should!

Thankfully, the draconian beauty standard that said people without conventionally “flawless” skin should conceal their birthmarks has rapidly gone out of fashion, and that’s not being reflected with your Sims.

These marks from creator brindletonbae have a very natural appearance.

The creator even made them with two different opacities, so your Sim can have a slightly faded birthmark if you’d like since that happens sometimes.

There are 9 different types available for both males and females aged teen and up.

You can select these for numerous spots on your Sim’s face, including around the eyes and nose.

Custom Content creators sometimes just go all out and give you a ton of new things all at once, and this is definitely one of those times.

This little pack includes many different options for moles.

Gone are the days where you’re limited to one by your Sim’s mouth or one by their eye.

You can do everything with these from selecting one or two to nearly a dozen and they can be placed almost anywhere on your Sim’s face.

They’re available for both sides as well, so everything is up to you.

Their tone is dark like the Maxis ones already in the game, so you can incorporate those, too.

Here are some more large birthmarks for both the face and body.

These really illustrate how unique each one is.

They vary in size, shape, color, and location, so truly no two Sims will be exactly the same… at least not randomly.

For the facial birthmarks, there are three red tones.

Plus there are options for both dark and light skin, and you’ll find something here for nearly every place on your Sim’s body.

Face, torso, legs – all have multiple birthmark choices.

As many people have said, birthmarks are beautiful.

It may seem like it’s just a line, just something people say, but it’s clearly true.

This birthmark CC, for example, covers almost half of a Sim’s face.

And personally, I’m awed by what a gorgeous creation this is.

This creator obviously took the time to truly make a realistic design, plus male and female Sims alike can have them.

The way the edges are uneven is quite true to life, and that makes it all the more beautiful.

All 11 shades included are great as well.

Each one is vastly different from all of the others, yet still very natural. Some of the colors are more vivid, while others have a little more faded effect.

High Birthmarks

You may not have as many options with these birthmarks, but the quality is top-notch.

These tiny moles are the subtler side of birthmarks, but they certainly are still impactful.

Most will be around your Sim’s eye and forehead, but there are a few lower down on their face, too.

What you see is what you get – and it’s awesome.

They’re dark and vary slightly in size and opacity, so these will be a quick way to give your Sim some moles if you don’t want to mess too much with placing each one yourself.

I think most Simmers opt for facial birthmarks since they’re the most visible.

But they really can appear anywhere.

These “tattoos” will cover significant areas of your Sim’s torso, legs, and arms.

It won’t be totally visible when they’re wearing clothes. But even so, the parts of the birthmark that peak out will look authentic.

If you didn’t already know, you’ll be able to use this with facial birthmarks as well, as long as they aren’t tattoos.

Skin details and tattoos don’t conflict and depending on which one CC makers use, hopping between categories can really give you even more room to personalize your Sim.

Not all medical terms are succinct, but port-wine stain birthmarks are rather self-explanatory.

These vivid, reddish splotches are quite common.

They’re the type of birthmark most people have, since 3 out of every 1000 babies is born with one.

And unlike many other types that might fade, port-wine stains are for life.

This CC creator has made these available for all ages from children to elders, and you’ll be able to use them in a variety of spots on your Sim’s face.

They come in two colors, a reddish tone as well as a purply one, and can be used for both males and females.

Strawberry birthmarks are another common occurrence, and they’re just as unique as the rest.

So you really can’t have too many variations for your Sims!

This creator, plasmafruitsalad, includes six birthmarks here in two opacities.

So whether you want to stay bold or go for a more faded look, there will definitely be something here fitting for your Sim.

These are another awesome example of CC makers going above and beyond with realistic skin details.

I mean, if you’re gonna do something, you might as well do it right. And Simmers always do.
